Africa is a rich continent endowed with natural resources but from the onset Africa is set up to fail. Could it be the geographical location of Africa? Africa as a continent shouldn't be struggling because it has various types of mineral resources that can turn Africa to one of the strongest continent in the world. Rhetorical questions like this gives me the ick.

We're rich with everything you can imagine. The only thing we're not rich in should be patriotic Africans, not generally leaders, ome should be patriotic but we have a lot of sellouts turned leaders who sell our natural resources to the west and tue rest of the world. That is one aspect to take a peep at it, the other should be strategical western powers doing all that they can to extract Africa and see them in ruins. We can not deny that, it is the sole reason why they the west gravitate towards corrupt Africa political representatives who can do their bidding.

Examples are that of the Nigerian current president a CIA asset, Biya in Cameroon and also the president in Kenya. Lastly, Democratic form of government has and will never favor Africans,  we have had our own fair of good leaders and they where never nothing about Democracy. Democracy only favours corrupt political representatives and the west. It will take some time but we shall rise.

The one currency?! If Europe can do it, then we can, but like I said above, strategic plans from the west are in place to never see it happen. It will take a good revolution to change that.

There is no country anywhere that is too poor in Africa to the point of not having one unique resource, unless you are staying in the Sahara Desert, even the countries in sahara desert has their fair advantages and resources for survival and demand for them in other parts of the world. Just check the countries in parts of Africa, they have oil and gas, but mismanagement of resources and over dependency on them have made the country lazy and poor. They don't explore other resources, unlike other developed countries that have a wide range of resources that benefit their countries.

If you remove mineral resources from Africa, they wouldn't be able to survive thier economy because they generate most of their income from a single resource, and it is this part of that income is stolen by political leaders. Until we eradicate nepotism and take accountability for things that are done in Africa, things will not get better. I don't think an average African country will be better than its current economy in the next 30 years until we improve management.

The continent is not set up to fail and the Geographical location isn't what determines how a continent would grow, and besides if we are going to consider the magnitude of natural disasters in some other continent and compare it to Africa you are going to see that the area were Africa is located is one of the best so actually the undevelopment with all the resources some of the countries has is because of how their leaders want them, Africa is actually responsible for how common the world are seeing them now because anytime they're ready to change they would definitely get it and developed. The effect of the past colonial masters has made huge effect on the mentality of the African leadership, on which I think the monarch form of leadership which was mostly/often used in the early years of the African countries remains undoubtedly the best way of African leadership. But the change of this system made everything look as if they are going backwards, and are now being blind to the reality of life and the truthfulness to their duties as leaders. Today, majority of the African Nations are encompassed with greed and selfish form of leadership, where what is their benefits is what is important for them, and not considering the people whom they are leading.

If the problem of greed can be dissolved and the proper use of leadership positions by elected leaders, and the use of a unified currency throughout the African Nations, there will be economical growth and improvement in their different infrastructures.

One currency for Africa? I think it's not going to happen. Gaddafi really thought about it when he was alive: for Africa as a continent to have "One currency, nationalizing oil more, and using oil money for big African Union projects" that idea of his brought him his death at the hands of the West. The reason being that it would strip off the West's oil interests in Africa if it happened for Africa to unite as one.

You see, the issue of Africa uniting as one, to have their own currency is what Africa is not ready for as we speak, anytime soon. Our leaders are busy enriching themselves and their families more, any other thing aside from that should wait later, in the future to come. Maybe everyone in the world knows about the condition of the African continent, I personally view Africa as having a better economic condition than other countries, It's just the result of the paradox, governance, management of resources, their way of social welfare that makes and looks like Africa is being impoverished by its own officials.

You can just imagine where Africa has 40% of the world's gold, 90% of chromium and platinum and Africa has 60% of the world's best solar energy, not one reason Africa is the worst economy in the world, In fact, if Africa has good economic governance, it will be much more prosperous for society than other continents.
However, there are several countries on the African continent that have prosperous and prosperous economies, if we look at this, this cannot be separated from their leaders' concern for society, such as Botswana, Mauritius and so on.

There is an abundance of natural resources in Africa, and they also have fertile agricultural land, which should be able to foster more encouragement towards full participation in farming and other mining processes for better economic growth in their countries.

The problem of most African country is individual greed and mismanagement of power by the leaders, West African countries is the worst in leadership and development, the corruption in some of these countrys that make up the zone that I mentioned is nothing to right home about, we can At least mention some north African countries that are not doing bad for themselves, the likes of , Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, we can also talk of Libya although the country is not what they use to be and I won't want to go into such discussions for some reasons, for sure Africa has everything, we are blessed but leadership has been the problem of Africa as a continent, if we have this kind of discussion countless times from now, we'll have almost the same views coming from real Africans, the thing is that, when corruption takes over the mindset of present and incoming leaders, it becomes part of the system, which will be difficult to dismantle, I think this is what Africans are are facing.

My African brother, I notice how passionate you are when it comes to African development, the first step to development is to reject blame game, there is no point in saying that Africa was designed to fail by those who discovered it, Africa is not the only continent that was discovered in the world and colonized, there are lots of African countries that are doing pretty well in terms of development, the likes of Egypt, Morocco , South Africa etc, are doing just good. The problem of Africa is African and sadly, we and our leaders already know this but because a selected few are benefiting from what's happening to Africa as a continent, whatever comes up as a conversation that suggest that Africa can be independent quickly gets kicked to the side.

Africa has never been a poor or less privilege continent. The best of brains and the best of natural resources any continent can think of is all in Africa so why is poverty always associated with Africa? Africa is not poor in both natural and human resources but management of these resources is the problem that make Africa appear poor. We cannot begin to measure the wealth of Africa in terms of what they have as natural resources, from arable lands to natural deposits such as oil and gas and even rare earth metals amongst others. Africans have been brainwashed to serve their tormentors. Sadly, most African countries prefer to protect the interests of foreigners. The continent has been fragmented by colonial masters, so it is becoming difficult to unite and build their economies. Francophone nations see Anglophone nations as their enemies and even prefer to sabotage their economies.

Until the African continent unites and promotes trade among member nations, it will continue to be underdeveloped. It is easier to travel to countries outside the continent than to move within the continent. Strict visa rules, high flight costs, and strict border checks are making trade within the continent difficult. Some of these African states are controlled by external forces that are bent on frustrating free trade in the continent.

ECOWAS has proposed a single currency for some African countries. Members of the West African economic has proposed to launch a single currency called the Eco in July 2027. Guinea has already opted out of the arrangement, and I think more countries will drop this goal before the proposed time because of external influence.

It feels like whether you are from Africa or you may have done a little research on it matters, right? I personally don't know much about Africa, but if your words are correct, then I am sure there must be a hole in its system which has been leaking for a very long time and filling its political leaders' bags. To make it stable again, there needs to be an honest leader for that country, and honestly, I don't think at this time we're going to get any honest person who can lead the country's affairs with honesty.

This is not just about Africa because corruption is the thing which is become common in the whole world's systems. Trying to force a unified fiat currency across 50+ completely different economies is a recipe for a hyperinflation disaster. We already have a borderless, neutral currency they can trade with, Bitcoin. No central bank shitcoin needed to print it into oblivion.

Africa, is not poor intellectually, climate wise, in natural resources but unfortunately the one place that we are poor buries all the abundant riches that the continent have and that is bad leadership, many African leaders have no business being in power. We are talking about 54 countries with different economic and political situations, and as such their realities cannot be exactly the same. There are poor countries in other continents, including Africa, so maybe a better discussion would be to talk about economic challenges and solutions of a particular country, rather than just a broad generalization by continent.

Africa has some of the richest natural resources ever, but we have a government that will sell those resources for personal benefit. It is very common in many continents where bad governments don't know what purpose natural resources are for, if not for them to enrich themselves and generation to come.  

The fact that you agree with what the Westerners are saying about Africans is disappointing. A country rich in natural resources is not poor. Money isn't circulating because a few have decided to hoard it.
