That depend on your skills. Having a lot of money will not guarantee you will becomes a profitable trader. Some friends I know will not risk their money by using high amount but they will only use the amount they can afford.

They know that trading can takes all of their money especially if they follow the desire to make a profit. Trading needs skills to profit, no matter how high or low your money and if you have money and skills, you have a chance to make more profits but you need to consider about the risk. The risk can be big if you out of control in trading.

Hello traders, Having a large amount of money does not automatically make someone a profitable trader. Money can increase your opportunities, but it cannot replace knowledge, discipline, patience, and risk management. A trader who cannot control emotions can lose $1,000 just as easily a D's $100,000.
The real advantage comes from protecting your capital and making decisions based on a clear strategy rather than greed or fear. Start with an amount you can afford to lose, learn from every trade, and focus on consistency instead of quick profits. In trading, capital is a tool, but knowledge and discipline are what make that tool useful.
True success is not about how much money you start with but how wisely you manage it.

More money is successful for more profit and with it we have to be patient and wait, then only more money will give us more reasonable profit. If more money does not give more profit, then those who are trading by investing so much money are not common and along with this, it also depends on the leverage that how much you are increasing it. Yes, this is okay for the impatient and nervous, but those who earn more money and have the tolerance to lose money can trade easily. If money is invested in trading foolishly, it will also end, so those who do it to get rich quick take risks by investing more money. Trading should not be considered easy because it also moves our emotions and mental earnings in speaking. If a trader is seen, he wins a trade of 50$, he will think that I would have invested more money here and with the same effort he invests more money next time, he loses and thinks here that I ave invested less money

The amount of capital does not determine the ability of a trader. One can have a large amount of money. But if there is no sufficient knowledge about the market, that large capital can cause big losses. A skilled trader with limited capital may be able to survive in the market for a long time with relatively small risks. However, even with skill, profits are not guaranteed in trading. There is always uncertainty in the market. Even a skilled trader can lose. Using money beyond one's means makes the situation more dangerous. Having both capital and skill can increase the chances of taking advantage of good opportunities. But it should not turn into overconfidence. Money or skill alone is not enough to succeed in trading. Along with skill, discipline, risk control, and the ability to control one's emotions are also needed. The more a trader is aware of his limits, the more chances he will have to survive.

They know that trading can takes all of their money especially if they follow the desire to make a profit. ..

A trader’s effectiveness and skill are determined by how consistently they are able to demonstrate positive trading dynamics over a long period of time. In this case, the size of the deposit is not of fundamental importance - it only affects the absolute amount of profit if the trade is successful, but it does not determine the trader’s level of skill.

If you have higher amount of money, but you are losing while trading with lower amount of money, the chance that you will make money in trading is still very low.
Dangerous misconception if you ask me, what this kind of mindset will do to you is expose you to more risk because you believe more money will be easy to scalp the markets for smaller profits ..but unfortunately the opposite happens as people risk more on risky trades, and before you even get the chance to take out those profits you would have lost that trade already.

Btw this big capital big reward only works if you have a tried and tested strategy which is profitable then you can dream big.

It’s not about having high amounts of money that makes a trader profitable, no matter the amount one is trading with, if you don’t approach trading with the right trading skills you’ll lose. A trader with lots of money can still go on to losing very high amount of money also. It’s just a matter of time before those huge amounts start vanishing if the right trading strategy isn’t employed like knowing when it’s the perfect time to enter the market and mastering the art of chart reading. What most people forgot is that most traders ends up losing heavily because they lack risk management and control in the sense that they tend to have this idea of trading with such huge amounts will fetch them more bigger profits, without knowing that the market is very unpredictable and when the market doesn’t go their way they lose ends up losing heavily.

You’re just right on point with this explanation you’ve given about trading. The trading market makes you think differently and always look down on yourself. The comparison of yourself to others who are trading and your aim for an higher life will make you think what you’re earning is not enough for you. Just because you have a good amount to risk in trading doesn’t make you profitable or stand an edge in the market.

Trading doesn’t work like that and it is better you do not allow yourself to be deluded by such thinking about trading. Trading is not about capital, but more about your knowledge of the market and the psychology behind your market as a whole. Having good strategy will give you better chances of making it through trading, your capital can do less to that.

Any trader that's running at loss using small capital to trade shouldn't think of using big amount of money because common sense should tell him that he's not good enough to trade with such amount of money to avoid big loss because no miracle will give you profit for using big capital to trade. This is where some unprofessional traders get it wrong, they think that big capital will lead to big profit. If you're losing more as a trader, it's better to quit trading.

Is as simple as that. Winning doesn't come from your amount. No matter your level of input, there is no guarantee that there would be winnings. The high risk in trading is a pointer that it is no respecter of your amount.

Just like you said, common sense would have told them to take a break, or probably pause and ponder on there trading habit, or there trading strategy which may be the reason why they keep losing consistently. But I don't know wether some are engrossly addicted already to trading that they don't even think of quiting or taking a break even while they encounter much loses always. If you aren't making head way in a thing, it's only normal that you revisit your drawing board, check your strategies and then make some evaluations before trying again.

I can relate very well to this topic. My experience is about gambling, but it is similar, when i was in the university, i had friends who gambled quite often, much more than i did back then. Most of these my friends actually believed that the only reason why they hadn't become rich through gambling was because they didn't have enough money, so they had to to create parlays with so many games in it and still wager a small amount of money.

They thought with a bigger bank account, they would stick to single-games + high wager and the money would start rolling in. Grin I was glad they learnt their lesson early enough, before it caused them great loss. That is the same with trading and that's why many people trade with very high leverage and lose all their money when they get liquidated.

Capital is an important tool in trading but it doesn't determine profitability. If you are not profitable with small money, you cannot be profitable with big money.

What big capital does is to produce big profits and if liquidation happens, it's also a big disadvantage to the big fund trader.

Concerning what Op said, you'll not know the value of $5k untill you lose it trading. It is then that your brain will reset and you'll begin to say, "had I know I would have bought a land or a car with the money  Grin

Lolz, trading is about discipline and funds management.

Yes trading is not a respecter of account size, but can we call a trader who makes small intangible profit profitable? because imagine a trader who makes trades from  a very little account size, and gets very little profits not enough for anything good, I don't think such a trader should be called profitable because his profit is not useful to do anything. This is why I am saying that you will be profitable with a bigger amount to trade with because profit made from such trades will be tangible enough to solve issues.

Do not deceive yourself.
If you are earning $500 monthly, you will think you are not rich while trading.
If you are earning $1000 weekly, it would still be the same thinking.
If you earn $2500 weekly, you will still think the same thing.

Someone can earn $250 and know more about financial management than someone earning $1000 weekly just because of how they both see trading.

You see James Wynn having hundreds of millions of dollars but he was using 40x leverage and getting liquidated.
Many of us are rich or average, but trading makes it look like we can use trading to make it to the next level faster.
Many traders think of lambo.

If you have higher amount of money, but you are losing while trading with lower amount of money, the chance that you will make money in trading is still very low.
The obvious truth is that if you can't manage a small amount of money profitably, let's say you funded a $100 trading account, you still won't be able to manage a $500, $1000, or $2500 trading account profitably. A lot would think because they have a very small trading account that's the reason for their losses; you're actually deceiving yourself into believing such a thing. Profitability, risk management has to begin with managing the little one then to a more significant amount.

Those thinking that they will make it fast in life through trading are just deceiving themselves for nothing. I always tell my friends that, trading is not an escape from poverty or a source of income. Therefore they should they should keep another source of income.

Even if you say that trading can be or is a source of income I won't argue with you, but I would advise you make it once of your sources of income and not your only source of income, trading can be a source of income but it should not be relied on as a desperate way to escape poverty, in my opinion.

The major problem here is being able to use risk management without being greedy. There are lot of traders that don't know how to maximize the little they have to trade and become profitable. They always think that the more money the have, the high chances of them making big profits from the market. This is not the reality of trading and traders need to have extraordinary information and skill for them to become profitable in a long term interval. Traders are not making money from the market due to several factors.
If you can not manage the little you have to trade and become profitable, how do you want to use bigger amounts to become profitable.

That depend on your skills. Having a lot of money will not guarantee you will becomes a profitable trader. Some friends I know will not risk their money by using high amount but they will only use the amount they can afford.
Most traders don’t even understand how trading works, they just think everything is about having big capital. You might be having little amount in your wallet, and might still be making more profits than someone with big capital. Some people just go online and see videos of people trading and making money, they think that’s always easy, and they do decide to pump money into it also.

If you don’t properly understand trading, even if you having huge capital in your wallet, you might just end up losing most of the money, most especially if you are into leverage trading. As a trader, you have to develop a skill, you have to learn about risk management, always know how to manage your risk.

Discipline and risk management is the ultimate tool to manage capital in trading despite the amount size , because while one may have so much or so little funds to trade with, without financial intelligence or risk tolerance or emotional control, the losses incured could be as devastating as possible.
Trading is a game of surviving the market for longer period while ensuring that any amount of capital used isn't diminished but multiplied in the long run. So it doesn't matter how much capital at ones possession, what matters is how such capital can be effectively utilized to make gains.

Smart traders do not trade with high amount, because the losses will be very visible once they start to incur their losses. So they will start with trading low amount, and grow it gradually after generating bigger profits. Having high amount of money will not make you profitable, but it can be a good basis that you are already losing a lot if you lose all your money through trading.

And being profitable does not reflect with trading high amount, you become more profitable when you decide to trade on a small scale amount, and let your skills and strategies move to win your trade, not your high amount of trading capital.

This kind of mindset is only limited to beginners. No trader that has been trading in the market for quite long will still think that having high amount of money means you'll end up as a profitable trader. But if you are trading blindly and still driven by greed rather than trading experiences, then I could understand why your mindset remained like this.

But does it really make you profitable? Or you are just fooling yourself and believe that way, when the fact is the more you spend an amount in trading, the bigger losses you will acquire most especially if you are still inexperienced on how to make a smart move with trading.

You don't go to trading boasting your money, but successful traders turn out low key and act as if they have not made a huge amount of money from trading.

Someone can earn $250 and know more about financial management than someone earning $1000 weekly just because of how they both see trading.

You're very correct and some good reality illustration to back this claim up is the reviews of when we've so much money in our accounts, some reckless spenders don't consider to spend wisely so that they can be sustainable in the long term, instead they'd spend extravagantly even when they don't have reliable source of income. That huge one that comes once in a while will always be mismanaged not until at the close times when their bank account has started to drip and depreciating fastly beyond their expectations. So when they realizes they've LESS than expected in the short term, then they'd begin to be conscious of how they spends while considering they still have some long term before other inflow of income would comes.
So it's usually like trader's sticks to risk management more when they've lesser amount of money or income than when they've huge one.
It has also been confirmed that those with little bank roll's manages their risks and devotes better successful strategies than those having big bank roll's.
