First off I'm not aware of any conclusion until I had my post deleted secondly things like these are always burried In mega threads if you have a link to the discussion you can share it here I could possibly read through it. However unnecessary banter like these is why my posts here are kinda limited.

Well it is what what it is now that I'm aware the case of unnecessary deletion shouldn't reoccur. For the record actively moderating English posts in contrast to pidgin this fast compared to actual moderation of post quality says alot but I'll leave it at this simply.

It's a free forum, since everyone can communicate in Pidgin, I also won't be against anyone who only wants to be in communication with those who are speaking the language they want in their own thread. The only thing I don't support is the mod to give himself the extra job of handling that deletion when a self-moderated thread can do justice to that, where the op becomes the chief judge.

It also stinks to hear that non-Nigerians should be prevented from coming to the local board. What are we portraying- segregation or integration? When, in some scenarios, you will see several Nigerians sending invitations to other non-Nigerian reputed members, inviting them to our board when they are creating a contest, what is that indicating?

Let's also take a look at the entire board and consider the number of threads that are pidgin only compared to the ones that are written in English and see what many are posting as their preferred communicating language, I will still repeat it and you can quote me anywhere, Nigeria official language is English and we are being taught in English in schools in addition to our local dilects, be it Hausa, Igbo or Yoruba.

This life is not so hard to achieve anything as long as you are ready to do the right thing in the right way. Welcome to an era of both English and Pidgin speaking on Naija Local Board; even though this isn't new, just more clarification has been made.

The board is already 80% English so I didn't think that was necessary but same applies... This way we can finally end the " English and Pidgin" debate. ( I'll indicate it)

I don't like the way some people are going with this pidgin idea, I smiled when I read the bold part of that thread. However, in the other thread created by our big madam, mod made it clear that when people create threads in pidgin and they don't want English to be used in them they should indicate it in the thread, and if anyone breaks the rule of the thread by writing in English their posts should be reported.

Secondly, the new system will bring division to this local board and it won't make sense when that start happening. I would advise the mod, to try to prevent this division from happening.

If you create thread and you say you want only people way go speak English to reply on your thread e no go work because majority been want only pidgin, then the mod con make things easier for everybody, and that en suggestion make sense.
If you want make only English people reply your thread na to go create the thread for general board.

At this junction, maybe I will only have to suggest some ideas here.

1. Can we have 5 people who will openly state their main reason why only pidgin should be in Naija Local Board? The same applies to English.
2. To resolve the whole issue, everything should be back to normal so that everyone is free to communicate both in English and pidgin on any thread.

I will employ the moderator to see to this, please.

What division are you referring to? Are you supporting the motion or opposing the motion that OP should always indicate if they its an English-only thread or a Pidgin thread?

Fair enough, it should be applied to both sides of the coin (English or pidgin). But if the OP did not indicate that in the thread, he has no right to report a comment that was made on the thread.

I don't know if that is the case for Mia Chloe. Well, I am assuming that the OP didn't state it in his thread. If he did,m Mia Chloe must have seen it and avoided the thread. Checked now, OP did make it known what he want.

Though Igebotz only made a suggestion that anyone who wants only pidgin in their thread can indicate it but he didn't implement it yet since voting process was still ongoing in the other thread created by @SatoPrincess. But either way, since the OP of the thread in question made it clear that replies should only come in pidgin, it should be respected. You made a lot of points. The forum do not forbid outsiders from intruding any local board to join discussions there, so far as they can write in the language of the local board but in the case of our local board, an outsider do not even need to translate any word except for someone who wants to decode texts written in pidgin. What you said is very valid, there's no way we can stop foreigners from coming to the local board but if they break any rules they should be punished.

What division? Creating division because of the use of English or Pidgin, that will be so silly of anyone. I mean, you are not talking about division based on tribes, but English and Pidgin, which is a language that unites everyone on board, no matter how English speaking a Nigerian is, writing in pidgin is never a problem.

I do feel also that this will create a division in between us, because someone can create a thread and it will only be of impact to those who can comfortably speak with pidgin. Someone else that can’t blend in pidgin will have a useful opinion to drop, but because of the division such person cannot participate in that thread.
I do understand that everybody has their opinion to choose how they want their thread but also we should be careful it shouldn’t form a division among us in the local board. The main deal is that everyone should be able to share their opinions and knowledge freely among us all.

This is not a factual statement. It takes nothing to clearly see and comprehend that the core reason for the absence of a language barrier is built around the language diversity in Nigeria and the vague nature of written pidgin. Not all information can be effectively passed in written pidgin. I'll let this thread float and this likely could be my last reply.
