Perhaps the administrators of Stake want this project to be rather independent of their main casino, so they decided to raise capital separately for it, instead of funding the whole thing with Stake money.
The main fact is they publicly admitted to owning the platform.
The funding won't be an issue since a big casino like stake backs it up. But being independent would help them grow stronger in its own market.
Also, it catches my attention how they managed to secure such an attractive and short domain for this service, moon(.)com was not cheap to acquire, I am sure about it...
I tried looking that up, and true shorter domains are quite expensive to acquire but the main point or most important is how common the word moon is. Familiar terms for domains is what makes it expensive because of the keywords which would easily pop-up for related search.
In the case of the word moon, I believe it is quite significant when comes to gambling and cryptocurrency, considering how moon and mooning is associated with parabolical profits thanks to speculation on the crypto market.
It is quite appropriate if the service is going to be about extremely high leveraged positions on Bitcoin and other crypto assets.
Not even mentioning how easy it is to remember.
I will definitely take a look at it and see if it is available in my country or not.
I don't know if they will need an specific or different kind of license for them to offer those services to the same public Stakes does.
