Mobazha
Hello Bitcointalk,
I’m one of the founders of Mobazha, an independent open-source fork of OpenBazaar.
Our connection with OpenBazaar began in 2017. When OpenBazaar was closing in 2021, we started rebuilding. The first rebuilt version went live in 2023. We did not have enough funding or marketing reach to sustain that initial rollout, but we kept building and are now opening the project to more real sellers and users.
Our aim is not to create another centralized marketplace that owns the merchant relationship. Sellers should be able to retain their store identity, data, customer relationships, and the option to leave. Operators can self-host; people who prefer a simpler setup can try the Cloud Beta.
:)Current direction

Independent storefronts for lawful physical goods, digital goods, and fixed-scope services
Cryptocurrency and fiat payment options
Sellers configure their own receiving wallets and payment-provider accounts rather than relying on a universal central merchant balance
Self-hosted and Cloud Beta options
Open-source code available for inspection and contribution
Cloud Beta currently has no subscription charge, and Mobazha does not take a platform commission on seller sales. Network and payment-provider fees may still apply and should be visible before use.
We are still in beta, so honest criticism is more useful to us than empty praise.
We would especially value feedback on:
Trust, buyer protection, and dispute handling
Seller onboarding and self-hosting
Payment and delivery flows
What would make you willing—or unwilling—to sell products or skills through an independent marketplace
We are not launching a token or asking for investment. We are looking for users, sellers, developers, and practical feedback.

Mobazha Is Looking for Merchants, Buyers and Promoters
Hello everyone,
We would like to invite merchants, buyers and promoters to try Mobazha and help us improve the marketplace through real use and honest feedback.
Mobazha is an independent open-source successor to OpenBazaar. Our involvement with the OpenBazaar ecosystem began in 2017. After the original OpenBazaar project shut down in 2021, we continued rebuilding the project. The process has taken several years, but we have not given up.
Mobazha is currently in beta.
During the initial stage, we plan to charge no platform commission or listing fees. Blockchain network fees or fees charged by external payment providers may still apply.
Our current priorities are:
- Helping merchants create and operate independent stores
- Bringing real products and buyers into the marketplace
- Testing the complete purchasing experience
- Improving payments, store discovery and dispute handling
- Receiving honest feedback from merchants, buyers, promoters and developers
You can try Mobazha here:
https://app.mobazha.org/Product referral feature already available
The current Mobazha beta already includes a product referral reward feature.
A merchant can set a referral reward for an individual product and generate a referral link for that product.
For example:
- Promoter A shares a product referral link.
- Buyer B opens the link and purchases the product.
- The product is delivered and the order is completed.
- Buyer B confirms receipt and raises no refund or dispute.
- Promoter A then receives the product referral reward set by the merchant.
The merchant decides the reward amount for each product.
This allows merchants to control their own promotional costs while giving community members an incentive to introduce useful products to potential buyers.
Referral rewards come from successfully completed sales. Clicks and registrations alone do not generate rewards.
Cancelled, refunded, disputed or fraudulent orders are not eligible for completed referral rewards.
This feature is already available in the beta and can be tested at any time. We welcome feedback about the referral-link experience, reward settlement and possible abuse-prevention rules.
A proposed platform referral program
In addition to the existing product referral feature, we are considering a separate platform-level referral program.
This is currently only a proposal. We would like to hear the community’s opinion before deciding whether and how to implement it.
During the early stage, Mobazha would continue to charge no platform commission.
After several months, or possibly after one year depending on the development of the marketplace, we may introduce a platform commission of approximately 2% to 5% on successfully completed orders.
Any future platform commission would be clearly announced in advance.
The commission could be used for:
- Software development and maintenance
- Infrastructure and security
- Documentation and user support
- Marketplace promotion
- Rewards for people who introduce active merchants and buyers
Under the proposed platform referral model:
1. If a merchant registers through a promoter’s invitation link and later completes sales, part of the platform commission collected from those sales would be shared with the promoter who introduced the merchant.
2. If a buyer registers through a promoter’s invitation link and later completes purchases, part of the platform commission collected from the merchant’s side of those orders could be shared with the promoter who introduced the buyer.
3. Registration alone would not generate a reward. Rewards would only come from real and successfully completed transactions.
4. Rewards would only be confirmed after the relevant order has been completed and no refund, cancellation or unresolved dispute remains.
5. This would be a single-level referral program. There would be no multi-level commissions or rewards for recruiting additional promoters.
6. Self-referrals, related-account abuse, fake purchases and wash trading would not qualify for rewards.
We are considering keeping the direct referral relationship active for as long as the referred merchant or buyer continues to complete real transactions on Mobazha.
However, the reward percentage, duration and detailed rules have not yet been finalized.
We would like to ask the community:
- Would a future platform commission between 2% and 5% be reasonable?
- Should platform referral rewards remain active permanently or have a fixed duration?
- What percentage of the platform commission should be shared with the promoter?
- Should merchant referrals and buyer referrals use different reward rules?
- Is the existing merchant-defined product referral feature attractive to merchants and promoters?
- How can referral attribution be implemented without unnecessarily affecting user privacy?
- What protections should be introduced against self-referrals and fake transactions?
The purpose of this proposal is to reward people who bring real merchants, buyers and completed commerce to Mobazha. It is not intended to reward recruitment alone.
If you are a merchant, you can create a store, publish products and test the product referral feature.
If you are a buyer, you can explore the marketplace and tell us what would make you feel comfortable placing an order.
If you are interested in promoting useful products, you are welcome to test the referral process and share your experience.
