Legacy address on Electrum? [Fixed]

Is it at all possible to create a legacy Bitcoin address (i.e. starting with 1) on Electrum desktop (Win)?
My current version is 4.5.8
I asked AI, but it's absolutely useless.

Create a wallet as you normally would, then go to the console (if the tab is not showing go to "View" --> "Console") and paste this:

make_seed(seed_type="standard")

This would give you a seedphrase, which you can then use to restore a legacy wallet.

I tried this on 4.8.0 but it should work on your version as well.

You can follow what OmegaStarScream posted. It will generate 12 word seed phrase for legacy addresses.

It's supported from v4.1.0, OP should work as well. I have v4.7.2 and work perfectly.

Just a small correction, Electrum's entropy per word is higher than BIP39's since there's no checksum bytes included to it.
So, its default 12 words should be 132 bits by following the make_seed() command defaults (if num_bits isn't provided) below.

Only "small correction" because it'll not impact OP's security since Electrum will fill up the remaining bits,
Plus 128-bit of initial entropy is secure enough.

You might want to consider clearing the console afterwards, and potentially restarting your computer after doing so. Closing Electrum and opening it again isn't good enough.

The reason is that the console doesn't securely wipe its output from RAM like the seed phrase input dialog does, so there may still be references to your seed as unallocated memory somewhere in your RAM which other programs can harvest.
