NBTC – NewBitcoin | SHA-256 Blockchain | Built for Small ASICs, Bitaxe & Solo Mining

NewBitcoin (NBTC) is an open-source SHA-256 blockchain focused on making small-scale mining accessible to individual miners.

The project is designed around a simple idea:

A small ASIC should still have a meaningful role in a decentralized blockchain.

Bitcoin demonstrated that decentralized mining could work on a global scale. However, today, finding a Bitcoin block with a small ASIC such as a Bitaxe is practically impossible because of the enormous network hashrate.

NewBitcoin takes a different approach by operating on a much smaller SHA-256 network, making solo mining with small ASIC hardware an interesting possibility.

🔹 What is NewBitcoin?

Name: NewBitcoin
Ticker: NBTC
Algorithm: SHA-256
Blockchain: Proof-of-Work
Source code: Open source

NewBitcoin is based on the principles of the original Bitcoin protocol while aiming to create an environment where individual miners can participate directly in securing the network.

The project is particularly interesting for hobby miners, developers and owners of small SHA-256 ASICs.

⚡ Why Bitaxe?

The Bitaxe is an open-source SHA-256 ASIC mining project designed to make ASIC mining accessible to individuals.

NewBitcoin and Bitaxe share an important characteristic:

Both are designed around open-source principles and accessible hardware.

A Bitaxe cannot realistically compete with the Bitcoin network in terms of total hashrate.

But that is exactly where NewBitcoin becomes interesting.

With a smaller network hashrate, a Bitaxe can contribute a measurable amount of work to the network and can potentially participate in solo mining.

The objective is not to claim that a Bitaxe will frequently find blocks.

The objective is to make solo mining technically meaningful and accessible to individual miners.

🎯 Solo Mining

NewBitcoin provides a dedicated SOLO mining endpoint for miners who want to attempt to find a complete block themselves.

Stratum:

Coin:

NBTC

Using SOLO mining means that when your miner finds a valid block, the block reward goes to your configured wallet, subject to the network and pool rules.

As with any Proof-of-Work blockchain, finding a block is probabilistic.

There is no guarantee that a particular Bitaxe will find a block.

Your probability depends on factors such as:

* Your hashrate
* Network hashrate
* Network difficulty
* Block frequency
* Time spent mining

This makes NewBitcoin particularly interesting as a hobby and experimental mining project.

🛠️ How to Start Mining with a Bitaxe

Getting started is simple.

Step 1 — Get a SHA-256 ASIC

A Bitaxe such as the Bitaxe Gamma 602 can be used as a small SHA-256 mining device.

Step 2 — Install/configure your firmware

Connect your Bitaxe to Wi-Fi and open its mining configuration interface.

Step 3 — Configure the NewBitcoin pool

Step 4 — Enter your NBTC wallet address

Configure the wallet address where you want your mining rewards to be sent.

Step 5 — Start mining

Your Bitaxe will begin submitting SHA-256 work to the NewBitcoin network through the SOLO endpoint.

🖥️ CPU Mining

NewBitcoin also provides software for users who want to experiment with mining using a CPU.

CPU mining is primarily interesting for testing, development and experimentation.

For serious SHA-256 hashing, dedicated ASIC hardware is significantly more appropriate.

📊 Why Mine NewBitcoin?

NewBitcoin is not presented as a replacement for Bitcoin.

The idea is different.

Bitcoin has become dominated by industrial-scale mining infrastructure. NewBitcoin aims to provide an environment where individual miners and small ASIC devices can still participate directly in Proof-of-Work mining.

A Bitaxe running at home can therefore become more than a demonstration device:

it can become an actual participant in the network.

More independent miners can potentially mean:

* More distributed hashrate
* More individual participants
* Greater geographic distribution
* More experimentation with decentralized mining
* A stronger community around small-scale ASIC mining

🔬 An Open-Source Experiment

NewBitcoin is also intended as an open-source project for people interested in:

* Bitcoin technology
* SHA-256 Proof-of-Work
* ASIC mining
* Solo mining
* Blockchain development
* Open-source hardware
* Decentralized networks

Developers and miners are welcome to inspect the code, test the network and contribute to the ecosystem.

🪙 Fixed Supply & Halving

NewBitcoin follows a monetary model inspired by Bitcoin.

The maximum supply is limited to:

21,000,000 NBTC

NewBitcoin also uses a halving cycle of approximately 4 years, reducing the mining reward over time.

The purpose of this model is to provide:

* A predictable monetary supply
* Long-term scarcity
* Transparent issuance
* Reduced block rewards over time
* A familiar economic model for Bitcoin miners and users

The combination of SHA-256 Proof-of-Work + 21 million maximum supply + 4-year halving makes NewBitcoin familiar to Bitcoin users while targeting a different mining environment focused on individual miners and small ASICs.

⛏️ Mining Emission

NewBitcoin’s block reward is distributed to miners who successfully produce valid Proof-of-Work blocks.

As each halving occurs, the block subsidy decreases according to the protocol rules.

Important: Mining remains probabilistic. A miner’s chance of finding a block depends on its hashrate relative to the total NewBitcoin network hashrate and the current network difficulty.

🎯 The NewBitcoin Concept

Bitcoin introduced a fixed-supply, Proof-of-Work monetary system.

NewBitcoin keeps several recognizable principles:

SHA-256

Proof-of-Work

21,000,000 NBTC maximum supply

4-year halving cycle

Open-source blockchain

Individual & small ASIC mining

The difference is the scale of the network.

NewBitcoin aims to give individual miners and devices such as the Bitaxe an opportunity to participate meaningfully in Proof-of-Work mining.
