I'm one of the players who have experience betting on some things you mentioned.

The road game you mentioned, the name of that game is CCTV Game - Rush Hour. I want to share with you my history game to proof it, but there is no history at all. Regarding the game verifiable stuff mostly people like me or other who are playing these game are already aware.

We are mostly just want to test our luck. That's all.


Anyway, Slots is also can't be check by verifiable especially third party observer. I think, if you already aware about mostly like fairness of the game you will always check the game first before playing.

I still don't mind playing the games like these, but will never advertiser to everyone else.

I love where you said it's not for everyone, I'm not a fan of games that'll make me test luck which is why and only play few slot games, I'm more into games that requires me to be strategic and think deep before making decisions, like sports betting. From this it can be understood that if there is any financial incentive, people do not hesitate to physically manipulate single-point of data source.

I agree with the main point. The weirder the thing being bet on, the more important the settlement source becomes. Polymarket, Kalshi, Power.win, whatever platform, there needs to be something people can independently check.

My issue with this is that traffic cameras are not necessarily independently verifiable by a third party observer unless they have physical presence or a camera of their own.

Yes i also agree with your point few days ago i watched a reel of a person who is involve in betting and his betting is on he make a box by watching the CCTV footage and then his bet will be how much cars crosses by this box also a viral incident happened in France i think in april or may 2026  a guy opens a bet on weather as weather station is accessible to him and used a hair dryer to heat the sensor and win a Poly market bet so i think in those types of gambling there are huge chances of manipulation and honestly when money involved in it people find thousand ways to manipulate the data. That is why i also believe independent verification is very important in these markets.

I also heard about this case, and it's important to understand that such cases happen even now, and others have won money from this and other events. They just get smarter over time, taking into account the mistakes of other players they've caught. So, I absolutely don't want to participate in this and bet there, because I'd have to compete or lose my margin and edge on these bets. I want to play fairly and have fair competition. Although, on the other hand, even in football and the biggest tournaments, we can't be completely sure that a match is played cleanly and without collusion.

After reading your post, now I personally don't like these thing at all. From now on, I will try to avoid such prediction market completely. When betting starts on sensitive data like weather or traffic, there is possibility that real data itself will be under threat. Because some dishonest company and user can manipulate algorithm & real-time data at any level for their own financial gain. As a result, ordinary people like us, who depend on this information to run their daily lives, will be in great danger.

True. I personally do not see the fun in those weird bet options. The only thing motivating people to stake their money on such bets is the financial incentives involved. I see that  the reason more people are interested in those bets and making the prediction markets boom with high patronage is that they believe that they can manipulate the market by altering the results. Trying to influence the weather report is just one of the least effects of these kinds of bets. The reports of insider information trading, match fixing and other forms of manipulations are very rampant on the internet. I don't stake on these types of bets; they don't interest me.

There are many things people are placing bet upon as long as they will have their time utilized to have fun, it is important that we discover what we needed to play and also understand the reason why we should place a bet upon such, so that we will not end up being disappointed even when we lose up from winning, place in a bet is just for fun and nothing makes it a compulsory achievement that we must get, except if they are lucky to win, today people are playing different kinds of bets, all in the name of entertainment and disease getting more exciting as we see various games that are satisfying enough to place bet.

That thread was only about a guy betting on traffic, but in this one, the OP has included more these types of bets. The good thing for me is that it doesn't catch my attention; I stick to classic bets, so I won't have any trust issues about whether I'm being ripped off on a bet about traffic or the weather or whatever.

Well, honestly the way people are gambling or betting on anything is crazy like for real. I think yesterday I saw this post that one will bet on a number of cara that will pass through a box that they drew I mean that was the highest of all I have seen so far. The good thing is that I can not indulge myself in those kind of game no matter the amount people are making from it and also I am not a fucking addict who bet or gamble on anything and I will advise people to be careful on the kind of game they bet.

Is the game about weather temperature? I didn't play that particular game so don't know the rules is but maybe they change the number and got caught because other people in that area can easily check the weather temperature so they can verify false things but what about some prediction that can't be verify?

Maybe we will see a prediction market only for Bitcointalk like; Will more than 5 user get banned today?...

I have not seen or bet on a few of those games you mentioned. I have bet on a few things, though, but they are not really weird to me. The most I partake in is normal online betting, which is sports betting and a few casino games. However, those games we call weird are not weird to the bettors; that's why they are engaging on it. A lot of people are just looking for things to keep them busy; that's why they are doing most of the things that they are doing today. Honestly speaking, it seems the reason why they are doing most of that weird betting stuff is that it's very entertaining to them, and they are probably getting some wins also. But betting on weather forecasts is something I haven't seen people try in my environment.

Addiction got nothing to do with this, I don't know why you have to sound that way, some of these games are just for pleasure sake most of the options are just so crazy that it would make you as a gambler curious except of course you are the type that see gambling with a different narrative.

There is the brand called base market where you get to get on so many crazy options like for even players to wear different clothes to training or something of sort but all this doesn't mean anyone involving in it are addictive towards gambling.

Casinos are forced to do that because the number of players keep increasing and they end up using a fake/scam one with the process of finding exciting games so some casinos might try to add into their site to get such players, but those live stream can't be verified and even if we verify how they can just go on and livestream on a different country that also brings security concerns right?

Well I haven’t tried betting on traffic or any road related betting but I think those people who bet on those already knew other possibilities. I bet they’re also aware or may have thought of how legitimate those are. Cause just like you have mentioned, in this kind of betting, it’s also possible that it could be pre recorded or not there’s a delay with the time so you can’t really be sure how real-time it was. That’s the risk. And I think those bettors who play this game are aware of that risk yet they still bet on it cause they find it entertaining.

Even in other betting, these kind of stuff may occur and be manipulated. But we still decide to bet. It’s all our choices after all.

I have never taken such strange gambling and I never will in the future, because strange gambling lack enjoy or excitement and there is no transparency about the outcome.

People are increasingly encouraged to gamble on things that I think are not a good way to gamble. It's completely crazy. People are gambling on how many cars will die on the road and many people are betting on the weather, I don't think these things are good ways to gamble, people who are addicted can basically make such strange gambling because their main goal is to gamble and what they are betting on is not the main thing. The more strange things people gamble on, the more complicated the gambling results will be and the more likely they are to lose money.

I’m just finding out that these kinds of betting actually exist. Well, these are things you could randomly bet on with someone for fun, but having an official platform where you can actually bet on things like traffic and the weather is just… wow. The way I sound you can tell I’ve not given it a try before , but still I will like to know how it works . The truth is that as a gambler stick with something that still have some fairness in it like sport betting . My experience outside sports betting was the US elections where I saw bets on who would be the next president, then there was the bet on who the next pope would be. And I thought those were the craziest bets ever until this thread lol. I think these kinds of bets have a certain appeal to people than regular betting, imo the odds are much better than slot games.

IMO if it's with the road betting, there can be other CCTV footages that are also streaming which can be verified if the one from the source of the bookie shows the same thing.

But then, this is all for fun and if someone gets serious about it. There will be a lot of sources that they have to gather for its verification of the actual result.

I guess that if someone moves further and becomes so serious on these odd types of betting. You know that there are consequences and the risk that it involves.

I think people mostly don't care about these issues, and they are just gambling and trying their luck, they don't even think about verifying that they are actually not being completely scammed and these things are actually happening in real-time, especially the betting on traffics and other stuff. I have seen so many people making videos playing these games where they bet on traffic situations, such as how many cars will go in a minute, or how much will be the lowest or highest speed of the overall cars passing through that traffic area, and they are literally betting on these when the location is a different country from where they live, so there is absolutely no way for them to verify that.

I've never seen betting on weather, though. You mentioned that people can actually briber the weather stations to manipulate the results, I don't know if that can be harmful or anything, but that's clearly cheating, so in this case, it is not only the gamblers who need to do verification but also the betting platform needs to verify the results before giving out the rewards to the gamblers, because if individual bettors can do that, then it will be unfair to other bettors who think the results are real and it is also unfair to the platform that is going to pay the reward to the winners, especially to the one who cheated.
