Based on my previous post about Bitmart's shut down and a good suggestion from @coinlary, i think it's a good idea to update our Local Board on the new development of Bitmart. https://x.com/i/status/2090781678528803238 this link contains information about a potential return from Bitmart as update in their official X handle, sorry am a bit late but since no one has dropped it in our LB, i had to. Bitmart is joking with their customers, it's understandable if they had a rethink of their previous decision but why haven't they paid off the withdrawals of customers? From the replies on that post you'll clearly see that customers are not pleased by the latest development but want their money, it would be tough to regain the trust of customers if they come back without paying off the ones they owe. Note to mod: Lock the other thread if necessary.

Even if they return, people will not take them seriously anymore because they should not have shutdown if they wanted to return in the future. It will be hard for people to trust their assets in the exchange again because they have already instill fear on their customers. Note to mod: Lock the other thread if necessary.
OP, you already knew that this thread isn't necessary since you had a previous thread about Bitmart, you should have made this current post there but you choose to create a new thread. When you already know what to do you shouldn't wait to see the action of mod first.

If not of this, why would they decide to shutdown in the first place and refused people to make withdrawals before the deadline they gave. They have to work extremely hard to regain their reputation which they were at par with MEXC and Gate.io. This incidence is enough to destroy whatever is left of them because people will be afraid to use them freely like before.

You should have noticed in your previous post, where I mentioned to Nigerian members that after BitMart Exchange announced that it would completely shut down its operations, they are considering a restructuring plan and they have made this comprehensive plan after discussions with community members, stakeholders and professional advisors, which will include the distribution of money to creditors and the gradual resumption of operations. In fact their announcement seems false to me because BitMart Exchange announced that it would distribute money to creditors but after this announcement on their official Twitter account, no customer has been able to withdraw their Bitcoin, USDT and other cryptocurrencies, in fact their crypto assets are frozen. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5589469.msg67077976#msg67077976

Snipped This is serving as a lesson to everyone that I've been using centralized exchange to hold their assets, just know that they are playing with you life savings as you decided to have your coins with them, but if I wear one of the users of which I can never be even one, I will rather prefer to take my assets as soon as possible and never reconsider them for the second thoughts even if they are coming back on not, such is none of my business, it is high time people begin to reason on full decentralization.

One thing also to bear in mind is that scammers can take footing in this news and every user should be careful because official support would never ask for private keys or fees or any form of upfront payment to release any funds that's stuck or frozen on the exchange.

Shutting down the exchange was a big decision, it wasn't a decision they made after waking, a meeting was held, and the board of executives all sat down behind a desk and decided the fate of the exchange, who wants to be a victim twice in a row after planning a return scheme. It pains me that some people will still make deposits with the exchange, that might be when they eventually pull off the big scam, both the previously held crypto and the new deposits, they will do away with. People already moved on to other exchanges, Bitmart was never among the top ranked exchanges, so coming back isn't going to fix things.

I've read recently about the incident of the Bitmart, since then I've been hearing about user's expressing their distrust to that company. Meanwhile the controversial issues their platform is going through now is even what made me understand there's such platform. Like said that the organization is also pleading with their customers shouldn't be thought that they've rectified and eliminate the risks of using such system that doesn't give you full right to your privacy. They've haven't either aborted the potential vulnerability that hackers can steal user's fund's as results of online storage system. The Bitmart had gone an injury that should keep people away from using their platform because the trust has been broken. I'll gladly tell everyone to use non custodial storage system.

The incidence already show that something is not right somewhere so everyone should be careful with them even if they return. I wouldn't advice anyone to rush in making deposits there until it is abundantly clear that everything have returned to normalcy and withdrawals are being processed smoothly before putting confidence in them. I have few shitcoins there and if they return, I might consider withdrawing them into a separate wallet and allow them to rotten there.

Shutting down alone is a big red flag for an exchange of such nature, they already lost the trust of their community and no matter how hard they try to reopen to convince their community back on board, they will never get back up to 2% of their community back even of they decide now to pay back now, that alone cannot serve as a yardstick to be trusted because they might definitely act in such a way someday.
They could have just strived to stand tall irrespective of whatever challenges they had back then. Letting the community know would have built more trust and loyalty which they could have thrived on to recover from whatever it was with them then.

Your right that if bitmart doesn't process all pending withdrawal, nobody will take them seriously again. Since they wanted to shutdown at least they should have paid people their withdrawal before shutting down, people would have trusted them again hadn't been they had done the needful. Currently, bitmart reputation has really gone down because they haven't paid people their withdrawals.. I don't think any sane person would take them seriously after what they have done. and If they manage to clear up all the pending withdrawal on their system, lots of people will stop using them for transactions or for any crypto activities.

Shits happens and I can agree onthah but how the hell do all this night platforms thanks we're that stupid to trusting them back after what an ugly experience and treatment they have literally shown to their customers . coming back wouldn't change a thing because trust isn't what you can mend over night, it's going to take years to rebuild some trust which may not be as strong as previous before the shutdown.

but why haven't they paid off the withdrawals of customers?
This is a reason best known to them but my guess is that they probably ran out of funds to do so because I came across another thread on the general board where someone mentioned that even their staffs were also complaining of not receiving payments too, which only means that the company didn't have money to pay out. So, my own rhetorical question is about how they want to resume service again when they are lacking even the capital to pay off their customers and staffs. On a second thought, I am guessing they must have got an investment offer which is still under review and that's why they are thinking of coming back if at all they agree on a deal with their investors. It will be difficult for so many old customers to trust them again after getting back their money.

In fact their announcement seems false to me because BitMart Exchange announced that it would distribute money to creditors but after this announcement on their official Twitter account, no customer has been able to withdraw their Bitcoin, USDT and other cryptocurrencies, in fact their crypto assets are frozen. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5589469.msg67077976#msg67077976I can only throw a word of caution to former users of Bitmart exchange to not acknowledge this new update and try to deposit funds in their account until the air is cleared, old credit has been paid off and the official statement of return is confirmed. One thing also to bear in mind is that scammers can take footing in this news and every user should be careful because official support would never ask for private keys or fees or any form of upfront payment to release any funds that's stuck or frozen on the exchange. After announcing the complete shutdown of their operations, this exchange mentioned that new registration deposits and trading orders will be suspended, so it is natural that even if someone wants to deposit, their funds may not be deposited. You are right about this news that fraudsters can take advantage of this news, as evidenced by the fact that a few days ago, after Trezor leaked the information of their users, those users were victims of phishing emails, so since BitMart exchange mentioned restructuring their operations, everyone should be careful. Even to release Bitcoin, BNB, Ethereum, USDT and other cryptocurrencies stuck on this exchange, no fees or other information should be shared with anyone because it should be known that the official support team of this exchange will never ask for private keys or passwords. The main thing is that they are not yet allowing customers to withdraw money, so if someone from our LB can withdraw money then they should not use this exchange in the future but everyone should use top-class exchanges for P2P or everyone should use a hardware wallet for holdings instead.

I believe that no one from our LB would use exchanges for holding after the incident with some exchanges lately, even the ones that are top tier exchanges can't be trusted cause they could disappoint in the future. Self custody should be every holders priority the only thing that should relate people with exchanges is if they're traders or using P2P not holding, so a hardware wallet is better. Well not every hardware wallet cause not all are reliable and the coldcard drain is an eye opener to that not all hardware wallets are good enough, the one that's open source and more secured with passphrase is better. However, i once stumbled on a thread were our very own LB og Charles Tim advised on the kind of wallet to use for better privacy , so it's good i share it so more people can learn.
