Prior to this time we've entertained and heard discussions about Bitcoin being the digital gold, or being the next gold, well... There's been a lot of back and forth and discussions to argue for or against the mentioned propositions.
Quietly we've been seeing something quite different, we're seeing Bitcoin potentially replacing gold or surpassing hold in today's world. The numbers obviously don't lie. Personally, I've always maintained that Bitcoin surpassing or being on par with gold is not so far off.
It's not hard to imagine countries who like to hold gold, start to hold Bitcoin instead, obviously such a prospect will take some time but I strongly see it happening, and I'm not alone.
Just recently Binance CEO actually echoed my sentiments. We Know when CZ speaks, he speaks from knowledge and then people surely would start to take note. One thing is certain here a lot of persons can actually see that Bitcoin could be a much better asset than gold.
Surely, arguments against are always valid; it could be in the perspective that good is fine for business, Bitcoin is volatile, after coming up to 77 k it failed to reach 85 k and could deep further. Well we've all seen this before.
Certainly the gap is getting more interesting to watch.

Bitcoin is entirely a different digital asset from gold, am not saying that gold is not a good digital asset, but Bitcoin has really outperformed gold in term of growth, and has attracted people to it's self. People who really know what Bitcoin is will also prefer Bitcoin to gold, gold has a more stable growth which makes investors with less risk tolerance to invest in it, but as for the high risk investors like CZ, they are more comfortable with Bitcoin not minding it's volatility. Considering how far Bitcoin has grown within this shirt period that it has come to the digital market, there is a clear evidence that Bitcoin will overtake gold . As for me, am so much interested in Bitcoin investing, and is my favourite digital asset because of it's proven evidence as a reliable digital currency.

What he said makes sense, but only if Bitcoin's price reaches $1.5 million, considering gold's market cap of $31 trillion. How long do you think it will take for Bitcoin to reach $1.5 million? I don't think it's achievable anytime soon. And before Bitcoin's price reached that value, gold's market cap could have been worth much more than it is today, which means the comparison might look very different. I'm not saying it's impossible for Bitcoin to surpass gold's market cap, as no one knows what the future holds. But Bitcoin still has a long, long way to go, and there are many factors that could influence its growth. So it may or may not happen.

Bitcoin has actually surpassed $1.5 million right now Bitcoin market cap is slightly above $1.6 trillion and let's put into consideration how long gold has been in existence in relation to how Long Bitcoin has been in existence. Gold has been around for very long and some people will still consider Bitcoin relatively young and Bitcoin market cap has surpassed several giants and has achieved so much in a very little time.

In your thread subject, you make it seem like it is something that we're already experiencing, then you go on to say it would take sometime in your op. I don't know in what way you believe BTC is already surpassing gold, but in terms of marketcap, BTC is still ~10 times behind that of gold, and that would take some covering. It's not hard to imagine countries who like to hold gold, start to hold Bitcoin instead, obviously such a prospect will take some time but I strongly see it happening, and I'm not alone.
Gold is a safe haven asset and even if we have heard talk of countries looking to set up a BTC strategic reserve, it is gold that most countries hold in their reserves and continue to stockpile on the precious metal. Just recently Binance CEO actually echoed my sentiments. We Know when CZ speaks, he speaks from knowledge and then people surely would start to take note. One thing is certain here a lot of persons can actually see that Bitcoin could be a much better asset than gold.
That would depend on the subject i believe, cz once said 99% of people would probably lose their BTC stored in self-custody, encouraging them towards custodial storage.

No one is replacing anyone or surpassing anyone. Can you start a competition between water and wheat? It is not possible. Now if I say that wheat is sold at a higher price than water in most places, or water is available for free. So can we say that wheat is replacing or will replace water? It is a completely worthless competition.
Similarly, no matter how much Bitcoin is worth, it has no competition or comparison with gold. Are the things that can be done with gold possible with Bitcoin? Can Bitcoin be used as jewelry? Can it be used as a material? Can the use of gold in making various devices be replaced with Bitcoin? It is never possible. Everything cannot be considered by price or by number. Even if Bitcoin becomes obsolete in a world without the Internet, gold will become more active. Gold was before, is still there and will be in the future. So I don't think there is a need for gold to compete with Bitcoin. Bitcoin is best in its own right and gold is best in its own right.

Bitcoin and Gold are both great assets, they are both great investments for anyone, I would surely going to recommend both as a long-term investment.
But for me, both of them are different thing because Bitcoin is a digital currency, also it was known as digital gold, while gold is a tangible asset since it is a physical thing, we can probably say that Bitcoin is better or might have higher value to gold something like that, but in comparison they are both different investments, I don't think that replacing was the right term for it, but Bitcoin for sure is making a huge name.
Bitcoin is not going to replace gold, it's already been around for a long time, and it was still a form of investment and currency at some point, Bitcoin can be a currency and investment but it would never replace gold, for me it was just because it is digital it not tangible, compared to gold where you have a physical thing as an investment, it will always gives the sense of security, it's hard to say but Bitcoin value was not guaranteed, tomorrow it might have very value if something happened.

Moneystery is talking about $1.5 million as actual price and not market cap because it is at this price that bitcoin will be able to have the market cap same as that which gold currently has. But we need to understand that even if bitcoin get to this market cap could cannot be stagnant until that period it will also have moved again. Yes bitcoin attaining $1.6 Trillion in less than 20 years means that $30 Trillion in market cap can actually be attained but I think we are over optimistic about it happening in a short period of time. Yes with this trajectory bitcoin might one day reach $1.5 million but I don’t see that happening in the next 20 years because of the volatility of bitcoin. Bitcoin cannot be that highly volatile like the early days and that’s already happening now.

There was a topic about it recently. Let me look for the topic. This is it Bitcoin Could Overtake Gold in the Next Bull Run: Binance Founder CZ https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5592510.msg67087206#msg67087206What people will be posting on the two threads will be almost the same that Binance founder CZ is only exaggerating. Before bitcoin will surpass gold marketcap will still take decades.

It is undoubtable that Bitcoin has the potential to be of more value than gold in the future, but currently now we can ignore the fact that the gold market is far higher than that of Bitcoin, which is what I think brought about the phrase people always say when they call Bitcoin the new gold, simply because they are fully convinced that the monetary value that gold has reached, all it needs is time for Bitcoin to also reach such high value too. And we all know that gold has been in existence for thousands of centuries before now, while Bitcoin is just 17 years old and yet has been able to succeed beyond imaginable doubt due to its extra features of granting us full control over our money without the influence of government and its central banks. So Bitcoin will surpass gold, but not today, as it definitely takes time.

One thing I've noticed in this discussion between bitcoin and gold is the fact that I will have to juxtapose some of the memories I have while growing up as a child, the way my grandmother used to idolize gold and now how the new generation idolize Bitcoin. It simply shows that for me the older generation had what they placed as value and it kept adding value over the years for them, my grandmother used to have jewelry boxes that were filled with gold and other valuable items she cherished, while today myself as a young person have a bitcoin wallet that I also hold in high esteem, so ideologically bitcoin has strategically taken a strong hold on the new generation than gold.

Bitcoin is definitely making a strong stand in today's monetary system and that's why it seems gold is falling, but let's not forget the role that volatility is playing here. Of course Bitcoin is of more value because this generation prioritize privacy and self custody above keeping gold in a vault that can't be carried around or used for fast across border payments and that's why when so many investors rush into Bitcoin, it makes it have more value and makes good looks like a child's play.

What did CZ said, you didn't state it in your post, I'll love to get the information because I know CZ had been a hard core of Bitcoin investment and journey enthusiast, he dropped so many positive quotes about Bitcoin progress and advantage steadily. Anyway, Gold had been in the market for so long, It had created much liquidity but a slow movement of price, can't tell Bitcoin is better than it, but each has what makes each unique in their way, there are many investors who can never invest in Bitcoin and purely Gold, because of trust gold had brought for many decades.

You replied to the other Topic on the same subject only days ago. Do you really want that information? All it took would have been that you actually read the Topic you replied to, Bitcoin to do $150,000 next bull season, or rather $200,000 if I'm not mistaken, after the periodic cycle of 4-5 years from $60k. I don't know how many years have been spent when the bear started and so few years from now Bitcoin to record new ATH not now.
Some investors might be confusing the recent rally to be bull season, it's a retracement I'm sure which often times happens to restructure the market strength and momentum.
Let everyone be calm, and watch Bitcoin price go down below the current price and the do another new ATH, that movement won't be new to me.

Well, we are seeing already that bitcoin is the new digital gold, but honestly with its high market cap difference, I don't think bitcoin will soon replace gold and surpass its market cap. I'm not saying its impossible, but when its going to happen, that only remains a wild guess or prediction. I would rather encourage everyone not to compare bitcoin from gold because they are equally different, though both can be a good hedge against inflation.
I know CZ is a major pioneer and great devotee of bitcoin, but its not that all he has been optimistic about are coming true, some just remain predictions until proven true and is currently happening.

But Bitcoin still has a long, long way to go, and there are many factors that could influence its growth. So it may or may not happen. Yes it is true if Bitcoin price is $1.5M then Bitcoin market cap will be more than $31T but Gold market cap will not remain stable. Maybe we have to wait 3-4 cycles for Bitcoin price to reach $1.5M, so Gold market cap may cross $50+ Trillion by this time, this is my guess, this is not a prediction, this is just an example. There is no comparison between Bitcoin and Gold, Gold is a physical asset but Bitcoin is a digital asset. It is not that easy for Bitcoin to surpass Gold, Binance CEO predicted it very easily. Maybe he predicted that it will surpass Gold in the next bull run. There is no point in paying attention to such predictions.

Even if bitcoin will surpass gold in the future, though I'm not sure when it'll be possible, but replacing gold is something I won't agree. Gold will always be the safe haven among other assets, so they won't replace it but they will end up diversifying gold and bitcoin. People will not chose bitcoin over gold, especially those who are into traditional investments, but they will invest both in gold and bitcoin because both can possibly yield high profits in the future.
No need to prioritize gold or bitcoin, regardless of their market cap difference, both are valuable and profitable investments that people will surely benefit in the next years possible.

Am I reading this right? hahaa... CZ positions himself more as a businessman than a scientist. His posts mostly focus on encouraging people to use his former platform or buy his coin (though I’m not sure if he still holds any voting rights regarding Binance's decisions). He only occasionally talks about Bitcoin, and that’s likely because it could siphon off some potential users.
