I was watching the news on TV and this popped up. Messi retires from international football. My aunt was sitting on the chair and was watching me smiling.

After everything Messi has achieved for Argentina including, winning Copa America and many individuals awards. It's time for the goat,  not the main goat to retire.

It has been such an honour to watch Messi on the field.

With Messi's departure, can Argentina still perform at it's peak during Messi era?

Even for Messi, do you think it's the right time to retire?

A team can't depend exclusively on a single player. His retirement could be a marketing ploy or genuine fatigue; he's already 39, has been playing since he was young, and there comes a time when an athlete's body needs to slow down. Yesterday I saw that he scored four goals for Inter Miami. He's still amazing, but perhaps he no longer has the stamina for such intense competitions as the World Cup.

The Argentine team have heavily depended on Messi for extraordinary performance and with his departure, the responsibility will likely lie on Enzo Fernandez. I don't think they'll perform very optionally for a while and the team will have to be rebuilt from dependence on Messi to maybe performing as a team since I don't think they can depend on Enzo or Julian Alvarez like they depended on Messi. The team would really miss the goat and henceforth, gamblers would be very skeptical on how to include the team in their bets.

This is not the first time Messi is returning from international football, Conmebol comes up in 2 years time, he'll be 41 by then, his retirement is right on time, but we'll.see during qualification matches if he's going to play or not by next year.

Just went to read on it and it's damn true. Age 39. I think he is right on time for that retirement. I would have said perfect age. But it's still all good. Messi had so much influence on Argentina, now they would have to function well at that Messi peak level. Hope they will be able to sustain that level of agility Messi had on Argentina. Messi was indeed a goat. Sorry for the past tense use for his goat title. Only referring it to intentional football. Don't want Messi fans to drag me. 😂

Congratulations and happy retirement to one of the greatest player to play the game alongside Ronaldo. My most fond memories of him was when he was at Barcelona. I feel very fortunate to have been among thousands of people that watched him play in their time.

As he said, more chapters will continue to close and I won't be surprised if he calls club football quit at the end of this season. I think the death of his father really broke him. Hopefully he finds peace in retirement. Congrats again Leo.

Well that is good for him.
Everything has an end. It is wisdom to know when to bow out gracefully or be forced out disgracefully.
He has done well for himself and has achieved all that there is to accomplish as a football.
He has broken records and set new records.
However, what I like about football is that we are yet to see the best, there is always be a greater than the great.

Messi is a great football player and I am a big fan of him. Messi won the World Cup in his life with his own hands in the last World Cup and Argentina could have won this World Cup too but due to FIFA's corruption Messi had to leave the field empty handed. It was a very sad thing but Messi has shown how to play football and has touched people's hearts even more in this World Cup. He has shown miracles in every match and has scored goals towards the end of the game and won the match.
In the world of football, Messi was everyone's idol. Even those who did not support Argentina loved Messi very much. He is very old. There were rumors that the last World Cup was his last World Cup, but he played in this World Cup too. Anyway, I will miss Messi a lot in FIFA.

It has been such an honour to watch Messi on the field.

Messi is a very good player and there may be many more talented players like him over the years, but we will never forget Messi and his performances. Many may be supporters of other teams, but I sincerely believe that everyone likes Messi, because Messi is a humble and humble player. I myself am a supporter of other teams, but I love Messi very much and enjoy his game. However, I will say that, since he is old, his decision to leave at this time is good.

In fact, a team is never based on one player. When a team has more than one player, those players are the best in their respective fields, because if everyone is not the best in their respective fields, a team can never win alone and can not give the best performance. If Argentina can maintain their best performance, they will definitely be in the best form of the era.

For me it felt like someone was cutting lots of onions today. I am extremely lucky, I mean we are all extremely lucky to have watched Leonel Messi play for Argentina, regardless of if you love him or not you can't deny you witnessed a generational talent and I don't think anyone can create that impact in Argentina or the international stages again.

It was always going to happen but now it did I still feel uneasy and wish he could overturn this decision, Messi can probably still play for few more years but regardless his decisions and legacy will always be respected, he has won everything for club and country so he has very little regrets.

He said his legs has nothing left  Cry. I feel so sad man, but when you see him you see a man that has fulfilled his purpose in the international team, him and his teammates together achieve all major trophies, he also broke records with the international team, so I see a man fulfied and ready to let go,
At this point the football did not leave him he is the one who left the football with no regrets.
Legends come and legends go, I knew this day will come, and now it has
