Those who are too eager to claim any free shitcoin from this failed fork, and won't even bother to search the reality about it, have probably next to nothing to risk. These are the people who waste so much time hunting, chasing airdrops and free shitcoin giveaways even if flipping burgers would make them much bigger money.

So, if they're sharing their private keys in the process of claiming a shitcoin that has literally zero value, it's mainly their fault that they'd lose their cents-worth of Sats in their wallets.

It seems people on this forum hated the fact that BIP110 fork and blake2b exists, because no one is talking about it and the only single thread that says something was been shut down 👎 like it's a disease that no one should be talking about.
Something that never had any support and couldn't even mine 2 blocks after they forked off is not something anybody wants (5 blocks total in 25 days which is an average of 1 block every 5 days LOL). Consequently nobody talks about it either. We can even call it dead even though the centralized entity behind it is trying so hard to keep this shitfork alive.

And it just shows how consensus really works on Bitcoin. No entity from behind, even a so called Bitcoin developer can influence all involved in the consensus to follow his BIP. And for those who haven't follow it, completely dead by now, along side their intention to control a new chain.

Irregardless, the rest of your post is good advice. Although you should have also included the risks of shitforks and claiming them since you'll have to move coins in a dead chain without replay protection and you'd have to download some software that does it for that chain...

I think most of us here could have forgotten that era, as once there are ton of shitcoins being forked and then claiming it. Maybe those early claimants might have make some money out of it. But the rest, and just like what we have describe above, they are RIP.

Your last sentence hits on the main reason why I appreciate this Bitcointalk forum, because if one is conversant enough to at least stay updated here, without even needing social media or TV or newspapers, they can effectively invest in Bitcoin by accumulation and avoid the pitfalls of scammers or be exposed to hacks.
Well that may be right, but inasmuch as this forum is embedded with several knowledgeable people and information, I still wouldn’t advise anyone to narrow down or limit their sources to just this forum, not because this forum lacks enough knowledge or information, but simply because it’s also good to also consider other sources too. There are a lot valuable resources that may have actually been buried by newer informations, and it’ll take someone that’s just too familiar with digging out informations here to do that. So many reasons why people need to explore other sources too.

You may already be seeing websites, mails, phone calls, all telling you about how to claim your new coins before it's too late, please don't do it, because right now..
--snip--

After reading this reply https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5590802.msg67103125#msg67103125, also beware of exchange that claim it support Bitcoin/BIP 110 coin exchange pair, especially if it's less known or new exchange.

--snip--
And it just shows how consensus really works on Bitcoin. No entity from behind, even a so called Bitcoin developer can influence all involved in the consensus to follow his BIP. And for those who haven't follow it, completely dead by now, along side their intention to control a new chain.

Yeah. making a proposal or idea assigned with a BIP number isn't that strict. For example, BIP 100 - 109 are about increasing block size in different way, but in the end none of them ever activated.

I've learnt my lesson to say the fact, if anyone is still putting an effort to claim every $ they found online or anywhere they are simply greedy without even knowing, upon all the past Bitcoin forks what happened to them ?

They all died one after the other leaving only Bitcoin cash as the only coin that's very close to Bitcoin but still failed, this shows everything that every smart person needs to know about forks.

It simply says no single fork can do better than Bitcoin, there is no point running after every dollar opportunity, cash grabbing can land anyone into deeper problem and I think that's why someone have to do this, thanks for the warning OP.

To be fair some of these people probably knows most forks ends up dead, but they wanted to take a pie on selling as early as possible to get some profits. If they don't have to touch anything on the main chain I think most of them would be eager to download one app or two to claim them. Obviously anyone with a little awareness would be avoid stuff like this.
