What motivates you about Bitcoin?

Waking up this morning and I was asking myself what really motivates me about Bitcoin?

Having knowing this i still get motivated daily .

*Knowing Bitcoin and its risks involved is a key phrase to note.

*It's necessary to trade with what you can afford to lose to avoid regrets.

*Working on a long-term strategy rather than chasing short-term price movements.

*Neglecting  promises of guaranteed returns.

*Understanding that Bitcoin is volatile.


Bitcoin itself is a big motivation.. for me what actually motivates me about Bitcoin is the ability to give people total freedom over controlling their wealth, money, walking without obstruction or relying on a central authority like the government or banks.

The technology is 100% working in all transactions nationwide enabling people to pay bills so fast and reliable globally in as much as one has a good networking system.

Financial freedom: many investors and traders are being motivated to invest in Bitcoin because of its rapid growth of price and the mindset of getting profit rapidly undermining the votalities form the stock market.

Safe guide against inflation : from my research so far,  I discovered that bitcoin operates with a hard cap of over 21 and above million coin ever created,  and more to come,  due to this development,  even if the banks cannot print more Bitcoin,  already many sees it as digital gold to secure their wealth especially when local currency loses it value. Therefore Bitcoin serves as an advantage which is an impressive development.


Financial Freedom: Bitcoin operates on a peer-to-peer networking system without a central bank or government in control of it . This allows investors to hold their own money /wealth and receive and send money globally using only an internet connection.

Actually, it depends on how much amount you are holding in the form of bitcoin for the long term. As it is so obvious that holding a very small amount can not make you financially free even in a long time frame, right? But yes, you can increase this amount by accumulating little by little, which means one day you will also reach the point which will be enough to offer a handsome profit. And for this, in my point of view DCA strategy is the best option for those who can not accumulate a big amount using a lump sum, right?


@OP, if you are the horse of long term and planning to exit only when Bitcoin reaches its new all-time high. Then the risk is very low at such a verge compared to if you directly jump into the trading space having zero knowledge about it. So, it totally depends on you whether you are choosing trading or holding while entering the market.

If you talk about ability to control your wealth yourself without having a centralised authority, it is very true about bitcoin and decentralisation is one of its special attributes. Bitcoin helps to stay above the effect of inflation that happens every day to many fiats globally too. It's all these special attributes that motivates a person who understands them to go all-in in bitcoin without fear of loosing his money or funds. Motivation comes from believing in what you are going into and believing comes from discovering something special about it.

This advice is good for short-term traders, not for hodlers. When someone buys gold or houses, is that person investing what he can afford to lose? Why are people saying to invest in Bitcoin with amounts you can afford to lose? Buying Bitcoin is not like placing a bet in a casino.  If you want to make a reasonable profit in Bitcoin, you would have to invest big sums. You don't invest what you can afford to lose in Bitcoin, but what you can live without. You should have other financial backups because the outcomes of all investments are unpredictable.

Bitcoin has always guaranteed returns. If you buy during the bear market and keep it till the bull run, there are high chances that you would make a profit. Those who lose by investing in Bitcoin hastily sold below what they bought. I can tell someone to buy Bitcoin now and assure him that profit is guaranteed if he is patient. Historically, Bitcoin has always had new ATHs.

I have always wanted to live a private life. It discomforts me when people know how much I am worth. Living a modest life has always been my thing. Bitcoin might not offer total anonymity, but it helps to keep your money private. At least bank staff don't know how much I have.

When the goverment places financial restrictions, Bitcoin has always been the best means to bypass these obstacles.

Let's call it as private keys, or wallet seed phrase or wallet mnemonic seed that contains private keys too. Private keys are the ones meaningful for you to actually control your bitcoin and move it by yourself in transactions you broadcast.

There is custom words or extended passphrase that is a second layer security for your wallet, but you must take care of it, back it up in a same careful way like how you do with your private keys / seed phrases.

*It's necessary to trade with what you can afford to lose to avoid regrets.

Trading is not a first priority because it is risky, while investment is safer, more easily to get profit, and even brings better profit for you.

*Working on a long-term strategy rather than chasing short-term price movements.

That's related to investments, gradual and patient accumulation as well as long-term holding.

Although most traders don't get profit, they get loss, it's a fact that is hard to believe in and people simply want to have lively and actively tradings, get experience in this market from their trading activities more than with investment and holding.

It's good as you managed to get profit from trading but it's not easy for most traders, and for safety of their capital, it's recommended to avoid trading, focus on investment and holding, then after a long time or at least one market cycle, they will realize how amazing investment and holding is compares to result from trading.

Trading is risky but if they trade, they must use stop loss order or stop limit order and perhaps use trading bots for avoid emotional effects.

The fact that it is an emerging technology that has been a revolution in the economic field even though governments continue to discredit it use and misuse.

It is censorship resistant meaning nobody can stop you from using it against your will and it is decentralized meaning no specific body has control over it. Thus making it an easy and quick method to send money to someone anywhere in the world with a working internet and a device with power source.

I consider this to be something that can eventually become a force to be reckoned with (it already is) and hence I find investing in it safe and look at it for the long term.

The way I use and understand Bitcoin was not in an instant, it was a ups and down journey, I was attracted to Bitcoin because of it's value then and also because it's decentralised.

I have always hated the fact that it's a volatile asset, that was where I got it wrong, it went on for a longer time and it also affected my sense of quick accumulation, until later when I figured it all out.

Bitcoin is not altcoins that could rapidly pump and dump because they lack fundamentals, it's an asset that requires patience and discipline inspite of it's ups and downs, one that rewards long term investors.

If what you know bitcoin to be is just that it is a speculative asset, chances are high you are going to base your relating with it in that guise alone but in the real sense, there is more to bitcoin than just speculating on it and hoping that it serves as a means of being profitable or growing on your asset into something big.

I am very inspired by the past history of Bitcoin and the current position of Bitcoin, especially where Bitcoin was 15 years ago and where Bitcoin has gone now. If someone had bought Bitcoin 15 years ago and held it until now, then he would have become a billionaire by now. I am very inspired by this issue that if I invest in Bitcoin now and hold it for 20 years, Bitcoin will give me 20 times more profit than it is now. Bitcoin does assure financial freedom, but is it actually guaranteed? In the aspect of controlling assets without needing any third-party involvement, Bitcoin actually does give financial freedom, except for those who do not practice self-custody.

Some investors talk about financial freedom as if the price increases and they make profits up to where they think it's enough to live on, a stage where they consider themselves financially free, and could retire on the profits they make from selling their Bitcoin or while holding.

I'm not a big supporter of this fantasy, financial freedom comes with having several investments, plus Bitcoin and some others, considering the volatility that comes with Bitcoin, that should make Bitcoin one among several investments that could guarantee financial freedom.

If you are asking what motivated me to invest or continue investing in Bitcoin then I will tell you, one of the things that motivated me to invest in Bitcoin is the history of Bitcoin growth, I watched an observed the history of Bitcoin growth and I noticed that Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency that has a lot of potential.
From the history of Bitcoin growth I noticed that if I should invest in Bitcoin in years to come or in the future I will be able to make good amount of money from bitcoin investment, this has been my motivation till date.

I don’t know what part of the world you’re living in but I’m yet to see a country where you can use bitcoin as payment method for all transactions. Bitcoin has a long way to go before we see that level of adoption

People came into Bitcoin for different reasons, best known to them. I came into this space not too long ago, and  if truth be told I haven't regretted for once.  Bitcoin have changed how I see money, which is why I prefer to keep my savings in Bitcoin rather thank in a stable currency.  I hope to create generational wealth for my family through Bitcoin, which is why I'm seriously accumulating Bitcoin to hold for the long term.
