As for me, I view Bitcoin as a long-term asset that has the potential to increase in value over time, especially with the continuously increasing adoption, and this is also why I hold it in hopes of profit. It definitely doesn’t guarantee short-term profit, but if you’re patient you’ll get it far beyond your own predictions. You can see this from the price of Bitcoin from the beginning until now.

Besides, of course people invest in Bitcoin for various reasons starting from the potential for long-term gains. I mean, many of them see Bitcoin as a speculative asset that can provide high profits over time and Bitcoin is also seen as a hedge against inflation because its supply is limited and can't be printed recklessly like fiat currency. And there are many other reasons why they choose Bitcoin because they want financial freedom from government control.

I made my own mistakes and learned from them. I sold enough Bitcoin and regretted it all. I think many investors are on the same page as me, and I won't blame them if they also feel the same way as I do because it's really frustrating just thinking about how much I sold ever since the beginning, while it was still cheap to buy 1 Bitcoin.

Still, that's not a reason to give up. It's still going, and it will be one of the best currencies in the market for a very long time, or perhaps until I go. IMO, that's enough reason to invest in it.

People are moved by interest generally, so if you ask like ten different Bitcoin investors why they invested in Bitcoin, I believe that they will all have a different answer, but majority of those investors will say it's the money making opportunity that makes them to invest in it.
 Some may say that they invested in it as a store of value, or because of it decentralized nature, trying to decieve those around them, but the reality is that profit making was the opportunity they saw in it,  which drives them to it, so what am trying to say is that, at the end of the day, investing in Bitcoin is all about interest and what we stand to gain, because if their is nothing like benefits attached to it, their is no way most people will invest in it.

I invest in Bitcoin for the reason of it being able to be an opposite of the falsehood inflation carried about by the falsehood of our native fiat currency. This can't be controlled by anybody or group of bodies. Making decisions on why you should invest in Bitcoin will depend on how you understand Bitcoin, if you understand it well, you will decide the reason for investing in Bitcoin because many people have different reasons to invest in Bitcoin which future plan is among the reasons and also plans against inflation because Bitcoin stores value and gives profit if you check its price movement since it was created, it worth investing on because it is decentralized.

Sure, profit isn't the only reason, but it's probably the biggest one and the top priority for most people. Very few people actually use Bitcoin for other reasons like protecting their wealth or maintaining privacy as you mentioned.

Honestly, I haven't even seen an investor get into Bitcoin just to protect their wealth. Even billionaires like Elon or people who already have billions of dollars, aren't getting into Bitcoin just because they want to protect their wealth. Profit is still pretty much the main reason.

It's difficult to separate profits entirely from the reasons why people invest in bitcoin but it's pretty nice to say that when a person understands bitcoin, he invests for the sake of preserving the value of his money. This goes down to your scenario of rich people who have gathered wealth, they now seek to preserve such money. The privacy in bitcoin also helps to preserve wealth without government intervention and unnecessary taxing. Yes, taxation is part of the reasons a person could hide his wealth in bitcoin too.

In all these, profit comes as a natural reward for patience but not assured because bitcoin profit is not guaranteed even in long-term. So it's better to invest in bitcoin based on other reasons than the profit mindset in order not to get disappointed.

You are right, and the most important thing is that not everyone is suitable for investing through the same strategy. Because not everyone has the patience to hold on for the long term, while some want to get rich overnight. But the main thing is that the way you use the type of strategy, your results will be that type. As human beings, we always have different reasons to approach things in this life. The same thing applies to Bitcoin. People are into Bitcoin for different purpose.Some people are making use of Bitcoin just for financial freedom, some are into Bitcoin for investment purposes, and the reason they may be investing may be because of the profit. Some are investing against inflation, while some are investing against both inflation and the profit they will make. So, that is it.But I will say that many people are investing in Bitcoin just because of profit. In fact, you will understand this well when you give yourself time to learn about Bitcoin. It is then that you will even get the best for yourself, because if you have to follow some people's purposes for investing in Bitcoin, it may lead you to take the wrong steps in Bitcoin.

So, I will just advise you to calm down, learn and understand things well. If we're being honest, probably 99% of people invest in Bitcoin for the money. I don't see that changing anytime soon. And if people's mindset ever does change, maybe by then they will not even be in this market anymore.

Besides making a profit, Bitcoin has plenty of other usecase, like a store of value, p2pmoney and being your own bank. So profit probably isn't the only reason people are interested in Bitcoin.

But do you2 agree that most people get into Bitcoin because of its price appreciation and profit potential, while the other benefit are usually just secondary reason? There are probably very few people who really focus on those other use cases and completely ignore the profit side.
