Daily usage is happening, we see casinos for example and limited only in the forum. There's a day to day usage of Bitcoin in it and we all have an idea how huge the volume is going to the casinos, let alone the prediction markets and other services where Bitcoin is used for it. At first, we may not like how it's going with it but, that's what we like that there should be more use, there will be more big names adopting and using it. If they're not using and only holds it, then that's part of the adoption that they're using it as an investment, as something valuable to them that they're not going to dump anytime soon. Specific to the financial institutions, they are having it but sometime in the future it won't be a huge surprise if they take some profits and sell what they hold.

CMIIW, maybe it's too late to push narratives like Bitcoin as a medium of exchange and for things related to payment. If we want Bitcoin to be widely adopted because of these things, maybe it wouldn't work as effective as before. Or maybe it would work, very segmented, and can't be broad. There are many blockchains and stablecoins that can be friendlier to support people's daily transactions. Institutions disrupt the "Bitcoin movement" better with stablecoins, compared to Bitcoin itself to disrupt the global financial system.
IMO, the better way to make Bitcoin well adopted broadly is by making it friendlier with institutions, bigger players, making it closer to casual people as a financial product. It's not a movement anymore, it's an industry now. People need to get more benefits than just a store of value in the hope that it will win against inflation. People want to make their money productive. BTCFi for me is a good potential thing for Bitcoin. If the community didn't feel skeptical and think about Bitcoin being dictated by centralized authority, and this, and that, then it maybe can help. But in reality, people seem to avoid things like that, BTC staking, Lending & Borrowing, BTC as collateral, etc. because in the end it will be contradictory again with not your keys, not your coins. Unless there's a big change in Bitcoin, which I think will not be approved by the majority either.

I have been longing to ask; it seems that what is regarded as bitcoin adoption have shifted from every day utility to institutional involvement.
If institutions hold billions in bitcoin waiting for the right time to sell, is it a better adoption than widespread every day usage?
By institutional Involvement I meant; Institutional investors, ETFs, companies holding bitcoin, banks in bitcoin; While, By everyday utility I meant; people using bitcoin for payments, casinos accepting bitcoin, remittances, cross-border payments etc.
It seems too many people don't like the involvement of those institutions in Bitcoin, but why though? Their involvement ruins nothing on Bitcoin, we had a new all time high anyways and we are slowly going up a again now. What am I missing out here? You want to scope up all Bitcoin and you are pissed that the institutions are buying every Bitcoin? Nothing is burnt off Bitcoin because of institutions involvement. You can still use Bitcoin as your bank, you can use it as your payment solutions, cross border payment still works, although some part are cut out if that's what you are talking about, about this I believe a better cross border solution will come.

Casinos accepting bitcoin is not related to only the forum. And it is true that casino is among the market to accept and embrace cryptocurrency. I think this is because of the nature of casino. Sometimes there's sanction, geographical block and bank restrictions and gamblers will have no option than to use crypto. This daily usage is visible but not to compare to institutional involvement. Institutions deal on millions of dollars and their effects could be readily seen in the market than daily usage. But in my opinion, I'll say a balance is okay. Adoption should be both on daily utility and institutional investment as we may call it.

We can't stop peoples from talking about their views because everyone is living with own strategy and sources its never been going to change but surely its going to be good argument about involvement of institutes into Bitcoin after long time they done because they feel its good and have good benefits for them so having good profit and also taking advantage of this Bitcoin nature surely good. Bitcoin is having good future with good potential just because of this now many countries are changing their regulations while its going to be have good changes in near future these are surely giving good independence to peoples those want to live freely without any restrictions.

Well casinos are the first use case of Bitcoin, and so it started there and it continue up to this time. So there's nothing wrong with it us gamblers using it. And as in the case of our local e-wallets, you can exchange your Bitcoin to fiat and then you can almost do anything with it. Pay our basics necessities, like internet, water and electric consumption. Although the catch is that it's with a 3rd party and not a direct P2P. But still that could be the closest thing that we can see as far as adoption goes.

I still remember when ETF were approved. There was a lot of debate around it back then. Many of us didn't like institutional involvement because we thought it would make Bitcoin more centralized and easier to manipulate... But those concerns aren't really valid. Decentralization come from the network itself, while the market has already been manipulated for a long time by whale and other big player. Tbh, institutional involvement probably brings more benefit than harm. It brings additional liquidity and new capital, while we can still use Bitcoin in whatever way we want, just as before. BTC is still BTC.

What I think is making people not happy with the involvement of institutional investors is that they are manipulating the market very worst than how the market use to be because they have the money to do it. The pump and dump are now looking too manipulated and this is making people see the market as a tool in their hands and it is making people not waiting them anymore regardless of what they bring. People are not getting angry that they are buying up many Bitcoin since we go not have the money to do that but they should stop causing panic in the market when they threaten to sell and cause the market to be talking.

We have to accept that big institutions are here for business at the end of the day. They are holding today, meaning if the price goes up, they will sell it for a profit tomorrow. However, the fact that they are trusting Bitcoin and keeping it in their reserves is indirectly increasing the acceptability and credibility of Bitcoin among the common people.
Another thing is that I see very few people using Bitcoin for payment. I myself have also bought subscriptions to various services online and there I have used stable coins instead of Bitcoin, the main reason for this is price volatility and time. However in the case of casinos, Bitcoin is used quite a lot. So from this point of view, yes, Bitcoin is being used in daily life.

If most of the retails have the advantage of big players they would done worst, i mean manipulate the market so people would dump and then they buy cheaper, Bitcoin has become so valuable that people who see a potential to be more valuable want more of it, so it's in the hands of every individual holder to not fall for their manipulations, whenever you hear that a big player sold, don't sell too but keep holding or buy more, it's as simple as that. Moreover those big players didn't force anyone to sell their coin.

I wasn't trying to water down the importance of institutions in Bitcoin adoption, I know their involvement bring more liquidity and credible to the Bitcoin network. That said, we also know that there is a difference between Bitcoin adoption and Bitcoin investment. As institutions are buying Bitcoin in large volumes, the demand is increasing but it doesn't necessarily mean more people are using Bitcoin in their daily lives. About your example using stablecoin, do you think volatility is the major reason why Bitcoin is rarely used in everyday payments?

Yeah, this can also be countered by the reason why the Bitcoin market is volatile. But if you look into it closely, then you will notice that this is not just the sole reason why the Bitcoin market is volatile and fluctuates from time to time. There can be many other reasons for volatility in the market, but right now, for example, if I have to add another reason for your understanding, then the trading space is also a reason why the market always fluctuates from time to time. And if you attach this factor of the Bitcoin market to its demand and supply fundamentals, then you will realize that the more active behaviour of traders is also making it volatile. This is my point of view on this. DYOR! Additionally, I would like to ask what your own thoughts say what can be a mojor reason of volatility? Any random reason?

Yes, I agree with you. People should use bitcoin in all ways. Those who are in the process of investing in bitcoin should hold bitcoin, but those who want to transact through bitcoin should buy something directly through bitcoin, and these things should continue to increase. When bitcoin starts being used in all situations, people's acceptance will increase further. Bitcoin should be used in purchasing everything from small products to large assets. I hope that there will be an economic revolution in the world in the future. Although it may seem a bit unrealistic and imaginary to hear all this now, but I believe that in the future, bitcoin's position will be stronger, bitcoin will be used in all cases like fiat currency. The valuation of any product will be done directly through bitcoin. Bitcoin's adoption is seen in many places in the world through news. If the acceptance of bitcoin continues to increase, it will be possible to go anywhere in the world and transact through bitcoin.

I think we all need all kinds of adoption in Bitcoin. At first, Bitcoin started with individual adoption, and at that time, so many people were being skeptical about Bitcoin. However, institutional adoption of Bitcoin has opened the eyes of many people to see the importance of Bitcoin. Institutional adoption of Bitcoin focuses on investing and holding large amounts of Bitcoin, but this has not changed how people use Bitcoin. There are some people who still spend Bitcoin as an everyday currency for different purposes. Institutional adoption of Bitcoin gives Bitcoin more recognition.
The involvement of institutions in Bitcoin investing has really boosted the interest of many individual investors in Bitcoin, in the past when only individuals were involved, there was a kind of fear in the mind of many that Bitcoin could disappoint them someday or possibly crash to zero as some persons say, but when some persons see the amount of Bitcoin that these institutions are holding in Bitcoin, they are now motivated to buy, and hold Bitcoin. Bitcoin has really gained serious attention among investors, and not only institutions that are only involved, many countries of the world have also given attention to Bitcoin, and also see the reason why they should hold it, and without the involvement of institutions the interest, and recognition of Bitcoin investing would have been backward by now.

Global trade continues to operate with fiat as a central point of exchange, and the most dominant currency in the world is the dollar. Bitcoin is a global financial system. Although the business system was built around the dollar in the past, times are changing and this change will increase in the future. The adoption of products, services, and institutional adoption, the number of investors, and the strategy of holding Bitcoin are increasing and this scope will increase in the future. If individual and institutional holders hold Bitcoin for a certain period of time, its price will gradually increase and skyrocket because the shortage of supply causes the price to increase. Just as the price of a product increases when there are more buyers than sellers.

No, it’s not, because widespread use is the true 100% adoption that every Bitcoin enthusiast strives for. However, when institutional investors view Bitcoin solely as a tool for long‑term trading or investment, this is not the purpose that was originally assigned to Bitcoin. Because these big, wealthy guys are only interested in money, and they couldn’t care less about Bitcoin - for them, it’s just a convenient asset that they’ll swap for something else if they get the chance. But a true cryptocurrency enthusiast will use it and won’t constantly think about how to make a profit.

I believe there's a meaningful distinction between asset adoption and monetary network adoption of Bitcoin. If an institution purchases BTC and holds it on its books. That in itself can drive more demand and demonstrate increased acceptance, but they might not be touched for years. That's adoption done as an investment. Rather than as money. A better indicator of monetary adoption. For me is increased actual economic activity such as merchants using btc. People using it for remittance. Or businesses choosing to do so over other payment options when it gives them a competitive edge. Legitimacy and liquidity can be granted by institutional adoption, but the usage is what shows utility.

Of a truth, institutional involvement in Bitcoin can indeed bring more capital and legitimacy, but this also have its drawbacks too, such step could potentially create some sort of temptation to judge Bitcoin’s progress and success by how much fiat or traditional finance actually embraces it. Which is why I I believe that the most crucial question people should be asking is whether Bitcoin is actually providing its user a much preferable alternative and option compared to the options that the current system offers them.

I just wanna point out that Bitcoin has been seen as speculative and investment asset for a long time already. Market was pretty much treating Bitcoin as an asset and an store of value even before ETFs approval and institutional involvement. That also means it's not just those wealthy guys who care about the money. Most of us buy and hold Bitcoin because we expect it to go up in value, not just because we wanna use it for everyday transaction. We are not that different from them.

As Bitcoin continues to advance, its demand is growing, with increases seen in both everyday usage and institutional investment. Currently, we observe major companies including ETF providers investing in Bitcoin and planning to build reserves of the asset. Furthermore, Bitcoin is being used for remittances and accepted at casinos, facilitating its use in daily transactions. When large institutions invest in Bitcoin, they demonstrate confidence in the asset, often intending to hold it for the long term. I believe that the accumulation of significant amounts of Bitcoin by these major institutions inspires greater confidence than its mere daily utility, thereby encouraging ordinary investors. We are already seeing many companies building reserves in Bitcoin they likely view it not merely as a means to achieve high returns, but as a future asset, and consequently, they plan to hold it for the long term.
