Ano tingin ninyo dito? Madami kols sa local PH sa crypto na gumagamit ng anon name sa platform ng meta and maybe other related social media. Now DICT want them to be known, is this privacy disturbance? Or bye bye na sa mga users na ayaw ipakita ang kanilang identity.

Pero honestly not sure if yung sa meta eh need ng KYC from those anon kol users to get their payments so parang ganun din? Buti yung X platform di maselan sa ganyan kahit anong ID na valid or accepted pero siguro kung maimplement yan susunod din sa meta trial.

Anonymous social media accounts in the Philippines may soon be a thing of the past if the government gets its way. The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is formally pushing Meta to integrate the Philippine National ID (PhilSys) into its account verification process across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Threads.

The initiative aims to solve a long-standing challenge in digital law enforcement: attribution. By tying social media accounts directly to government-verified identities, officials hope to eliminate the anonymity that allows individuals to commit crimes online without facing immediate identification.

On the sidenote yung inapply ko na National ID way back before still hindi pa din dumadating. Sa inyo din ba?
