Bybit exchange removes some bank pairs in p2p trading.

I received notification via email by Bybit exchange, they have delist some NGN pairs when it comes to p2p transactions. They listed some commercial banks and some wallet that their pairs will no longer be available for exchange of USDT or crypto to NGN.

To optimize the NGN market on Bybit P2P, we're updating certain payment methods. Starting Sep 1, 2026, 10AM UTC, the following payment methods will no longer be supported.
Affected payment methods:
• PAGA
• Chipper Cash
• Carbon Microfinance

• Stanbic IBTC Bank
• Ecobank
• Polaris Bank
• Union Bank

If you are using any of these commercial banks to receive your money while trading in Bybit p2p, you can review your settings and change your payment method.

If you notice, most banks with delisted pair that is on this list are traditional banks. Microfinance banks are the hot takes for trading P2P.

PAGA became more popular two years ago. People don't trust PAGA that much.

I have always been wondering how they do it with Jaiz bank that they are offering rate to buy or sell is always far different from other banks, get the claim it is a non-profit bank but always have an inflated rate on P2P and this is still uncommon to traders and I don't know the reason why some people use it specifically for this p2p.

For everyone that have been using or any of this bank choose that we are even trading at risk because they all have poor service management and making transaction using any of these we only cost you nothing but a delayed and worry some trading it experience, I can't imagine making transaction with ecobank user for my P2P, this will be so annoying and much more disturbing and that is same experience we are with other ones that have been listed above.

I'm not even surprised that these banks have been delisted, infact, I'm surprised that a bank like Eco bank customers have been allowed by Bybit as to use the bank as a payment method.

This is 2026 and some banks in Nigeria doesn't want to work on/upgrade their electronic banking servers for fast and easy banking services. Imagine a vendor making a transfer to via P2P and 3-5 hours later, the seller is yet to release coins because they're yet to confirm payment.

Anyways you did well in posting this important information here, it will help people like me who did not receive this information in their emails to know the latest thing happening in Bybit exchange p2p and change their banks if the banks they are using to receive money in Bybit exchange p2p is among the banks on the list that has already delisted by Bybit exchange.

Union Bank and EcoBank are very slow in their network, it could be the reason they were delisted. I'm surprised why Polaris Bank is included, they use to be one Bank that has improved their services.

I have been hearing about Jaiz Bank and it seems that the Northerners are the ones that mostly use that Bank for p2p transactions because many prominent Northerners own stakes with the Bank. E.g Aliko Dangote.

The reason for delisting these payment platforms could be as a result of their poor services and network glitch because it is unacceptable to make a p2p transaction and it take much longer time for a transaction to be confirmed. This is why many people just prefer the FINTECH for easier and faster transaction on p2p

Access Bank and Unity Bank should be on this list. Well, Unity Bank has merged with Providus Bank. It is now called Providus Unity Bank.
I think the bank will start doing better since a different company has taken charge of the online payment process.

I expected Jaiz bank to be on that list before even opening the thread and it didn’t disappoint  . Zenith and UBA seem missing on the list though[at least they are better but can’t tell which one is worse between those 2]

You won’t be able to add it anyway since they don’t support it , so you didn’t really miss much even if you didn’t get any email.

When bank merge in Nigeria sometimes or maybe oftentimes they still can't do well and this might be because of scaling issue, the Providus bank might just be the same, I don't like using commercial banks especially relating to things like this and I guess we might have forgotten how they can be susceptible for scammers use against sellers, in fact this might be among the core reasons this was done.

Yes definitely. Most of the time my regular transactions get stucked and you can imagine how that is for business. You have to hold on some kind of other activities because you haven't seen the money sent to you or that which was sent out to others. Sometimes you have to go to the banks before you will be able to resolve the issues. Banks like ecobanks are the oldest in Nigeria and I'm still surprised that they still want haven't been able to update their systems to the kind of fast and advanced systems modern banks have today. For P2P I don't advice using them before and now that they have been delisted it makes a lot of sense.

Upon receiving the notification I didn’t panic because I knew the list of banks that will be affected were the banks that have had previous issues with a lot of users and I think the community feedback was what prompted this decision by Bybit. although I expected few more banks to be on the list like zenith, keystones and unity bank. I don’t know how manage they made there ways out of the list. But it’s obvious that the majority of the banks listed on the list have failed a lot of users on several occasions therefore it’s a fair decision that was long overdue. The fintech companies are leading when it comes to swift transactions now you can’t see any of them here.

I have always had a bad impression about Ecobank, Union bank and Stanbic IBTC bank. So am not surprised they made the list among others that were removed.
I wouldn't even ever think of using a standard bank for P2P as at when I intend to create and start doing some trading on any exchange I choose, because these banks are hot targets by EFCC and fraudulent bankers who are not trustworthy and going to the bank is a stress that fintech banks has solved while there's also the concern of network issues always disturbing banking network.

I'm not among those who use Bybit Exchange, so I will just pass along or share this information with anyone else who's using Bybit Exchange.
However, I believe one of the reasons why the Bybit Exchange is removing all those Banks from their platform is that users can delete transaction receipts and claim that they haven't received any money or sent any money to the other party during P2P transactions, or it might be that transactions normally get reversed after approval or some sort of issue, and their users are complaining about it bitterly. Or it might still be that those traders who use the banks always complain about late alerts; one of these issues might be the reason why Bybit Exchange is removing those banks.

Based on the fact that most of these banks' transaction delays have made me not bother to use them during P2P trade. A long time ago, I used First Bank on Bitget, and that trade took more than 3hrs and the vendor paid, and I confirmed it through the photo he provided. I had to call First Bank just to be sure, and they told me to wait upto 24hrs if the money would be reversed or credited to my account. I had to appeal the trade, but luckily within 3 and a half hours the money was credited to my account, and from there I changed to OPay ASAP so such a delay will not happen next time.

They definitely did not de-list them just because, I'm sure that over time they've received more complaints from people using the particular banks then with others and they've de listed then to make sure others don't end up having reasons to complain again about these same set of banks.
Also, some of the regular banks there are already going obsolete so the earlier they cut them off the better for them which is somewhat proven by non of the relatively active banks are on that list.

Access Bank is one of the good banks to use, among of all the banks, Access Bank gives better customer service, and they are usually the best and mostly used bank in the country. I suspected Eco Bank to be on the list, their online banking is really terrible, and they are not convenient enough for online banking.

Most of this banks they listed here looks like bank that always aren’t free of issues because they always have network and other issues always even outside p2p transactions. You can send money to some of this banks  and takes much time than the other reliable top banks to receive the payment.
I don’t know but in my opinion I think for online transactions like p2p that won’t take much of time, then it advisable to use wallets for fast response and fast results. I don’t trade with people that have this local banks especially some of this the op mentioned, I look for wallets so to be free from issues because this banks are always having issues and it annoying. Banks like eco banks and union banks should have make upgrade on their systems but they wouldn’t that why they are not always seen as banks of reliability and no much customers there, they only have older peoples as customers.

But I didn’t receive the notification though from Bybit but maybe it was sent to some customers and not all.

If this is true, it will be good if more of these banks are also unlisted. One of the reasons I stopped using one of these banks is because of its annoying delayed payment reflection, I moved to Moniepoint and Opay.
