This is a part of a long term payment settlement precaution from the exchange, I still remember when I use to be very active using the bybit p2p, I use to receive various warnings about some selected banks not so good for receiving funds via naira p2p trade. Use the banks that are widely supported and have fast transactions speed and most of the banks listed above don't meet that stranded.

That is true I also remember all those warning too, but I don't know if some of these payment options were actually removed due to such problems as slow transactions, failed payments or too many issues were reported by P2P users. When it comes to doing P2P transaction, even a slight delay in receiving or confirming a transaction could become a big issue, most especially if the other person you are doing the transacting with is waiting for the coins to be released. So it very understandable why an exchange actually wants to get rid of a payment option that continues to cause problems rather than continue to receive complaints.

Yes there was a time that they stopped using Palmpay on p2p platform on Bybit, I don't know if it is still restricted because it was discovered that someone can actually delete their transactions history on Palmpay such that in a case of dispute, it may be difficult to track a recent transaction. I don't even know why people are still using Banks on p2p platforms when there can be network delays from those Banking institutions. Sometimes it will take hours before a transaction can reflect on your account balance. It is better to use those Fintech banks like Opay, then if you don't want to keep your money there you can still transfer it from there to your Bank.

The title is misleading. I think you should edit it to "bank payment methods" and not "bank pairs." I guess the reason Bybit is delisting them is because of their poor banking network. The exchange must have had a lot of complaints from traders before reaching this decision. When it comes to choosing a banking payment for P2P trades, my pick is either Opay or Monie Point.

I'm sure the reports have piled up over time and it's not serving any purpose to still be using them, the worst nightmare of P2P is to lose your money because you sent it out of your bank but the recieving bank doesn't get the funds for over a week, no one will want to release their coins if they haven't received payment for it and even though people know these banks are reliable they will still keep using them so the best thing the exchange can do is to make sure no one can use these banks again on their platform.

Delayed bank transfer can do make P2P trading stressful due to the seller may not receive money on time. On the other hand while the bite is waiting for the BTC to be released. I believe that the removing payment methods that do keep causing these problems can make P2P smoother and also safer, this may reduce the number of available options but reliability is much more important than having many payment methods.

These banks eh, na banks way people Dey work with for specific purposes o. Just lie you talk cef, say people Dey follow up these banks via rate. Na so one of my guy tell me say, e open account for one unpopular bank during that scarcity time via say, as them no being get customers, it was easy to access cash. I no see much reason why Bybit go delist these banks shah. I no see this notification shah, most of their mails Dey just be spam mails but, e nice to see say person drop this update, make people know watin them Dey do for some kind exchange and watin Dey sup. I received notification via email by Bybit exchange, they have delist some NGN pairs when it comes to p2p transactions. They listed some commercial banks and some wallet that their pairs will no longer be available for exchange of USDT or crypto to NGN. Dear Trader,
To optimize the NGN market on Bybit P2P, we're updating certain payment methods. Starting Sep 1, 2026, 10AM UTC, the following payment methods will no longer be supported. Affected payment methods: • PAGA • Chipper Cash • Carbon Microfinance • Jaiz Bank • Stanbic IBTC Bank • Ecobank • Polaris Bank • Union Bank
If you are using any of these commercial banks to receive your money while trading in Bybit p2p, you can review your settings and change your payment method. I personally prefer using fintech banks like Opay and the others is way faster when come to receiving payment . I’ve had an issue then with normal bank during a p2p transaction, I was the one buying so I sent the money to the seller who was using normal traditional bank . The money I sent didn’t reflect in his account , so he was like he’s not going to release the coin until the money reflect in his account to the point that he was even thinking I sent fake alert and stuff not knowing his bank was the issue , took a couple of time before the money finally reflected in his account , that’s why I prefer fintech bank when I’m buying or selling .

Well those who use the banks tbey no longer support should take note and add another bank for payment option.

I no see much reason why Bybit go delist these banks shah.
I'm also trying to comprehend the purpose of the "delisting" considering the fact that P2P payment methods are set by users. But again, I strongly believe that this might have something to do with too many accumulated complaints specifically involving the banks listed in the OP. Exchanges don't just wake up to select specific payment methods especially when most of them not even among the top banking services. Maybe the bank charges from the listed banks are way too high, and we've occasionally seen merchants charging extra for this reason... Don't you think it's enough reason to affect the NGN market on Bybit P2P ?. took a couple of time before the money finally reflected in his account , that’s why I prefer fintech bank when I’m buying or selling .
Traditonal banks are one of the biggest jokes of the 21st century, especially the ones we have here. I doubt they even make plans to improve their services because we keep hearing things like "No bank network" from time to time. Fintech is unarguably a game changer.

That is one of the biggest problems with peer-to-peer (P2P) trading. However, since there is a bot that handles everything automatically, it makes things easier. When trading P2P, it is best to know which vendors to use so that you won't encounter delays and needless arguments with most of these vendors, which is something that almost all of us have experienced. There are better ways to handle situations like this, and I'm not sure why there are fewer banks in P2P. There is always a blue tick on most of the vendors, and it does give you the best experience when transacting.

Did other people get this email? I am not seeing any email about this on the email that I used to register on Bybit. I checked my email after reading your post i did not see any mail from Bybit exchange concerning this notice.
Maybe only some people were sent the email. @Freeveto, please screenshot the email and post it. If this is true, it will be good if more of these banks are also unlisted. One of the reasons I stopped using one of these banks is because of its annoying delayed payment reflection, I moved to Moniepoint and Opay. I think you can read @Dreadboos’s comment, he testify that he received the mail too,I don’t know why you want proof, perhaps you don’t believe the news. Well if you care, here is a screenshot of the mail below, I see no reason why someone will just come up with lies here.

The reason I asked for the prove is because most people are saying they did not get the email and which is very bad of Bybit because all their p2p users supposed to receive such important email. It is good that posted about it for us to see it on the local board and thanks for satisfying my curiosity. I can see now that you are right.

I don’t even have an account with any of these listed banks, I used to have cheaper cash back then for some online payments then, but I don’t have anymore, and for other banks like Eco Bank and Union banks, they are not active to my satisfaction even in the past, I can’t trust them for a p2p transactions. I used to use commercial bank account before now, but I have stoped, I only used OPay wallet instead, it very fast and reliable, you can easily confirm the payment and that is what p2p vendors want, and now that we even have swift payment, the transactions are faster than staying for useless negotiations that do lead to scams. I truly support delisting these bank pairs, only banks with fast transaction track should be allowed to avoid delay in your transactions when it comes to p2p transactions.

I’m wondering why I didn’t receive the message or they’re aware of customers who use these banks probably the information was not meant to go round. I don’t wish to be in a kind of situation when I need to confirm payment before releasing coins and then Nigeria bank decides to bring up the processing issue which requires waiting for at least 5 minutes, funny enough waiting will not determine if the money will reflect in the balance check while sometimes the money might actually drop. All this time waiting also affects the trader, honestly they’re the ones who suffer the most because setting a fast payment time and end up disappointing the trader is not even funny, no bank is excluded from this except opay although the listed banks happens to be the worst reason why bybit is taking action.

These are all commercials banks and I don’t think that most people still use them to receive money on P2P. Even the network issues on these platforms makes it even harder and difficult for one to use them as payment method. Fin-tech banks are the best and it is more encouraged than these commercial banks. I don’t use any of these banks or any commercial bank to receive money on P2P. I haven’t checked my email to see if I have received such message, as it will even be of no use to me since I don’t use them.

I'm not even surprised that these banks have been delisted, infact, I'm surprised that a bank like Eco bank customers have been allowed by Bybit as to use the bank as a payment method.
This is 2026 and some banks in Nigeria doesn't want to work on/upgrade their electronic banking servers for fast and easy banking services. Imagine a vendor making a transfer to via P2P and 3-5 hours later, the seller is yet to release coins because they're yet to confirm payment.
Are you saying it was because of network instability the exchange decided to remove those commercial Banks?, actually I don't think so because there are some listed bank there that has a very good stable network and good customer service like polaris Bank so I'm just surprise why they decided to remove polaris Bank because we wouldn't compare them with the rest of the bank they delisted, so is possible they might delist more commercial bank later, I was expecting palmpay to be among because they have a feature that would affect transaction transparency and bybit use to warn P2P traders about it.

I don't trust our traditional banks anymore, I always prefer to make use of Fin Tech apps as they do a better jobs than the regular banks. I don't even know why regular banks are still being allowed for crypto related transactions when they know that network issues can deny the fastness of the transaction and nothing makes it an awful experience trading than waiting for someone to verify if you have completed a transaction and it takes hours or sometimes days before it confirms. This only, can spoil your ratings and it's what we use to make out judgements on which trader to trust or avoid. All exchanges should take out those banks that have been frequent in cases of delay transactions so it doesn't bring a bad reputation to the exchange through feedbacks shared online via experiences using their exchange for P2P.

I was thinking what should be the reason for this recent development before i later came with poor network and slow notifications system which I think the reason wouldn't be far From this. However, there was a particular bank I was using to transact then on P2P, guy that bank nearly mess me up. I nearly have issues with a p2p vendor all because I did notice the payment on time and that nearly caused a serious dispute within us and you can imagine how stuff like that is when a buyer will be expecting you to release coin and you battling with poor network system just to confirm payment. I have no option than switching to opay and since then I haven't experienced same situation in the past few months.

During the days when Binance exchange was still offering P2P service to Nigerians, I was using GTB and Zenith banks to receive money from merchant and sometimes it could take a long time for me to receive SMS of the money paid into my bank account and when I even try to open my bank App to see if the money has been credited my bank App won't still open, at that point I will tell the merchant to exercise patients that haven't seen the money he or she sent to me and I will release asset to him or her when I have seen the money. A lot of inexperienced newbies has lost money through this several times in P2P, so for Bybit exchange to delist the banks on the list maybe they did that because of their poor internet banking and delay in sending transaction notification message, they want to protect its users from loss which is basically caused by all these banks on the list.
