I remember ordering Uber sometime earlier this year and the driver told me the real price over the phone, I thought he was joking, but he maintained his stand when he arrived, citing that it's a loss if he went with the money on the app, I cancelled, ordered 2 more drivers and it was the same thing.

This is really bad,30,000 is already affected. These days to secure a job is difficult and now,30,000 staff who were earning a living from these company are now left with nothing, tomorrow we don't know which company will leave this country and we don't how many more thousand will become jobless. The labour market is bleeding as thousands of undergraduate and graduate are yet to secure a job,no doubt this is why the rates of crime in the country is going higher because when a man is left idle, he can easily be tempted into committing crimes. The government have failed to provide jobs for citizens yet a foreign company that provided jobs for thousands of Nigerians has exited the country because of bad economy.

If the business isn't flowing, they need to cut back. Bolt is already doing well in the market, my concern is how the drivers are being too greedy and using these ride hailing companies as an excuse to extort and overcharge customers. The apps may not be giving reasonable prices, but drivers are making things uncomfortable, which is why most people are no longer using Uber.

Similar to how Bybit P2P merchants are making trading with them inconvenient due to silly scams, reason why some people will decide to leave the company for another one they feel safer. If there is congestion among other company drivers, it becomes a problem for the drivers, and a solution for them is to start charging reasonable prices without hiking the prices of their service since there will be more competition.

It's their loss because most of those Uber drivers will move to using bolt which is even better because most times, bolt drivers do negotiate prices off the price in the bolt app and due to how bolt drivers are uniting amongst themselves, once they ask you to pay extra charge and you refuse, they will not come to pick you and when you book the next driver it will still be same experience. Uber should have listened to their drivers because things are really tough for them and if they don't increase the charges, it won't really be much beneficial to them. If you're not a traveler you won't know how bad this economy is, this Tinubu regime has destroyed the economy and make it so hard for foreign investors to invest in Nigeria,  the removal of subsidy cause this problem,  thr hike in transportation and the increasing number of poverty among Nigerians. No investors can survive in this economy where there is no hope of recovery from inflation and economic hardship,  the government has no economic plan to better the economy.

The Nigerian economy is drifting towards something unbearable for international businesses,  we can stay here and argue as much as we can but we are not wiser than the people that owns this company called uber, they must have Cross examined the economic situation and how it affecting their business before coming to this final conclusion of leaving an economy of over 200 million people. Even though the drivers gave some bad behaviors, but I think it's for there wellbeing since they have been long neglected by the company.  Greater portion of the blame goes to them, and I would say they failed. If you own a company, one of the best ways to keep it always running and growing is taking good care of your workers. Once your workers are doing the work with a happy mind, be rest assured that there will be more productivity and output.

On the other hand, if these improvements are done, and accurate incentives given, and there are still loopholes from the workers, then you can fire such worker. There is just a way to prove to your workers that you are still in charge from your office. There should be a good networking and tracking of all there vehicles which will help them fish out people who are going to work and not reporting or taking above there charge stipulated by the company. Infact, once there is wrong management, there is sure to be breakdown, and I believe Uber made some costly mistakes that led to there fall.

Because a company is operating with international standards, that does not means the company can not go bankrupt and be sold to another company. There are other transportation companies in Nigeria, why are they not also moving out of Nigeria? Are they not operating on international standards? Uber was unable to make necessary decisions in Nigeria and failed. Are they thinking there will be deflation?
