If she ever came to own crypto assets, how did she manage to do that in the first place? Did she buy them, or were they given to her? In any case, anyone who wants to tie their finances to crypto should have at least some level of intelligence to understand that their finances need to be protected. If they don’t take care of this, don’t learn all the intricacies of storage, or aren’t in a hurry to learn about online security, then there’s no need to feel sorry for them.

The thing is this, most of these old people owned these assets from when they're younger, had better reasoning and could secure their assets better. Old age comes with a lot of vulnerability, especially with reasoning. Most older people are suffering dementia and wouldn't really recall the caution they once expressed and you can also agree with me that scam has evolved and not what they used to know earlier when they were stronger and updated themselves with security practices and all of that.

About Brain degrading, it is worse in some elderly ones, my dad's brain regressed much more than that of my mum as they advanced in age, she noticed people were exploiting his generousity, including his brethren and made it a point of duty to be actively involved in his decision making concerning finance and how he sends money out. If this was in crypto, my dad would've bought many scammers stories and become a victim several times

If scammers are going to be upgrading themselves from time to time, then I see no reason why we should not also take more responsibility for our assets to upgrade ourselves by learning more on the security measures with our crypto assets, the more you know the better is becomes for you, what we don't know will definitely cost us and this is why we must learn more of how to prevent scam incidence regardless of any new route developed by them to attack.

Come on🤗, what are you talking about? People who own cryptocurrency think differently than ordinary people. Some are used to relying on outside help, including banks.
I live among people too. I see how some people grow older and gain wisdom, while others change in the opposite direction, as if they were deteriorating. Old age doesn't necessarily turn a person into a child if they've worked on themselves their whole life.
That's why I think these crypto owners are wise rather than foolish. We can think of several of our older users.

Scammers no doubt are smart guys and that is the reason they were able to scam so many people in the world. It will be a big mistake to take scammers lightly because every time they come up new and better plan which help them in achieving their targets. People who think that they are smart and nobody can scam them are potential target of scammers. Not only new comers in crypto market must take security aspect seriously but also experienced users should keep their eye open for security of their crypto assets.

The scammers sent a mail that look like Google Mail asking her if she authorize some withdrawals from her wallet, unfortunately for her she couldn't authenticate if it was actually from Google or from a cloned email that seem to look like a Google email, responding to the mail, she said no she did not authorize for such withdrawal and afterwards, this same guys had to called her line in the
guise of calling from Google office, I think it was from that point she responding to the phone call and she gave in some of the details which I think lead those scammers getting through her passphrase stored on a Google cloud, and it was compromised at that point.

From this statement, this is a sign of someone with little crypto knowledge or lack information about the existing scams which can be the reason why they attended to the cloned mail and also received a call and believe that it is from their officials.
Do email officials usually calm customers? I think No, therefore, this victim lacks knowledge and should take the responsibility because this is a scam that has been existing for long and even on social media it has been there everyone knows about it.

Not your keys, not your crypto is always needed to be considered, if you consider that one, you will not even think of any of wallet that will ask for email to sign up, you will only rely on seed phrases from open-source wallets.

I don't completely trust what the lady says because she didn't provide any proof in her information. But I am not denying that something like this cannot happen. At the level scammers are improving their techniques these things are actually possible.

Google would never call their customers to try to solve a problem. In fact even if they wanted to they wouldn't be able to considering the level of customers they have.

In my opinion all of crypto wallets should be kept offline and completely separated from daily life and if anyone unknown asks about your crypto, treat it as an immediate red flag.

Scammers have numerous ways of afflicting victims, and is like the more we try to understand them, the more the devise other strange means of victimizing people. But as Bitcoin investors we should be very vigilant, and remain at alert, and watchful as to find out when these scammers are trying to unleash their attack. Sending mails to people, calling people on phone is a popular way scammers uses to get their victims, and we should learn to know when a mail or call is coming from a wrong source. Initially I was responding to such call but I have learned, and does not respond positively to such call, and I don't equally respond to strange mails.
To keep your Bitcoin wallet safe, there are some safety measures one should learn, for instance using another person's gadget to log into your Bitcoin account, or using public wifi to log into your Bitcoin wallet because some of these attitude can expose your password to the public, and also to a wrong person which can be used to scam someone.

It might look as if scammers are smarter than any else here but what makes scammers look as if they are smart always is because they  keep working on different kinds of logic when ever they want to operate and sometimes they always go extra miles just to make sure that they accomplish their aim but once you are smart as an individual, no scammers can ever overshadow your smartness in any kind but ones need to be careful of themselves because i have been experiencing scam before i join this community and i will to share it here for others to learn from it as well, i didn't know that just clicking on a site, can lead me to were my account was logged out and on the process of trying to login my account again, i didn't know that this scammers had a software that detected my login details and saved it and immediately i logged out that day, the next i couldn't have access to my account my account any more and within a short period of time, a similar strategy was used but i by passed it because i was once a victim of such scam

Even with that, all thse scammers usually plays with people's emotions and feelings. And if they were opportune to get one person at hand that's all, they don't need to outsmart people as much, thier aim is always single individual to make a big mistake. That's why we need to be careful of clicking anyhow links,because Bitcoin transactions are irreversible and immediately your money left yo6r wallet, you have yourself to blame, because there's no ways for refund. As such we should alway be cross checking any wallet address we are intended to send funds to and avoid all these unnecessary links, I must agree with you that, being greedy has made many people lose thier funds, atleasthinking critically in a bits is much more better than acting wrongly. That is a common mistake of the elderly. And the scammers are specific on that reason because they are quick to panic. Instead of verifying and suspicious of the email, and the call made her more nervous to obliged to fall for that scam. Asking others help probably still a thing to them which they believe is shameful with their age.
