@OP change the title into "wary" because weary means being tired and worn out. Whilst wary means being alert, careful.

One of her earliest mistakes was trusting an email sent to her. If she had been suspicious of the email from the start and verified it, or at least asked someone more knowledgeable for help, she could have avoided it.

That is a common mistake of the elderly. And the scammers are specific on that reason because they are quick to panic. Instead of verifying and suspicious of the email, and the call made her more nervous to obliged to fall for that scam. Asking others help probably still a thing to them which they believe is shameful with their age.

Seniors can be more vulnerable to these kinds of attack especially if they aren't as familiar with newer technology. This happen to any seniors anywhere in the world even my mum, good thin she always asked me regarding online stuff it's just that it's annoying already. lol

Whether it's with emails, sms or calls, they know that the elderly are very vulnerable when they have been informed that they should be alerted or something happened with their accounts even if it's a lie. I think that if there are guides or they're close to their children or even grandchildren who has ideas about technology and how these scam goes, they can always ask questions about the legitimacy of the notification they have received.

Scammers are everywhere looking for their victims, and they deploy various means to ensure they have their own way but nevertheless, there are Bitcoin investors who are conscious enough to discover them each time they want to scam them. I receive several emails in my mail box, but I don't really attend to every mail I receive because I understand that not every message is legitimate, and more especially any message that is related to your wallet account asking you to reveal any of your security detail to them so that they could rectify or correct anything in your wallet, such message looks suspicious, and attending to such message needs absolute carefulness. Many people have been scammed using various means, and we should try our best puting every necessary measures to ensure we don't become prey to these scammers.

At some moment, we will be clueless, in order not to make mistakes or act out of ignorance, it is important to ask for help from people who can offer it. The good thing about technology is that it is irrespective of age, anyone with access can understand how to use it.

I saw this video on X(Twitter) not too long ago where a lady that should be probably in her late 50s or early 60s, she was vehemently complaining how scammers were able to log into her crypto wallet and they stole everything that was inside.

Before scammers have access into a crypto wallet, the owners of the wallet have review the seed phrase of the wallet, scammers are not spirit to know the details of your wallet were your coins are been kept...

The scammers sent a mail that look like Google Mail asking her if she authorize some withdrawals from her wallet, unfortunately for her she couldn't authenticate if it was actually from Google or from a cloned email that seem to look like a Google email, responding to the mail,

When someone is not informed of scam, the person can easily becomes victims, They're some certain things we need to ignore, unnecessary inbox, which you're not expecting needs to be ignore due to the gravity of scam now, unnecessary emails messages and direct inbox unknown to you, should be put on ignore...like I don't welcome messages that I'm not expecting...
