Why does Electrum say I have some frozen funds when I have no Lightning channels open? I also have no frozen addresses.

Check your "Address" and "Coins" tabs.  You can freeze addresses or coins so that they don't accidentally get mixed with outputs that you want to keep separated for privacy reasons.  You might have frozen them in the past, but forgot, or, I suppose you could have done so by accident.

If you are sure that you didn't freeze any addresses on the addresses tab, you need to go to the coins tab but it is disabled by default, so you need to enable it by going to view>coins from the menu on the top left of Electrum and go to the coins tab. You should be able to see all available coins or outputs; you can unfreeze those coins. Look at this image below as a reference.

Thank you. That worked.

What's the difference between "Freeze Address" (tool-tip: "When you freeze an address, the funds in that address will not be used for sending bitcoins.") and "Freeze Coin" (tool-tip: "When you freeze a coin, it will not be used for sending bitcoins.")?

In my case, the coin was frozen and needed to be unfrozen.

Why does Electrum say I have some frozen funds when I have no Lightning channels open? I also have no frozen addresses.
With bitcoin in Bitcoin non-custodial wallets like Electrum, only users who are their self-custodians can freeze their coins or addresses by themselves, and only they can unfreeze these things. No third party entities like exchanges, governments or other Bitcoin users can freeze coins and addresses in a Bitcoin non-custodial wallets.

You perhaps did that in the past and forgot it.

Click on tab Address, right click on a specific address, choose freeze. You can do the same later, but choose Unfreeze.
If you want to freeze coins/ UTXOs, you must firstly click on View, then choose Coins. Click on a tab "Coins", then you will have a long list of UTXOs, right click on a specific UTXO, you will see Freeze. Click on Freeze, there are 2 options: Freeze coin, Freeze address. Later you can unfreeze too.

What's the difference between "Freeze Address" (tool-tip: "When you freeze an address, the funds in that address will not be used for sending bitcoins.") and "Freeze Coin" (tool-tip: "When you freeze a coin, it will not be used for sending bitcoins.")?
Coins are in UTXOs, and one Bitcoin address can receive bitcoins in many UTXOs, while you can choose a specific UTXO for freezing coin in that one.

Freeze an address means freezing all coins in that address.

You can freeze, then unfreeze coin or address by yourself.

If you're wondering how that can happen without your direct intervention,
There's a setting that can do that:

Electrum's "Avoid spending from used address" feature can automatically freeze UTXO received via addresses that already used as input in another transaction.
You can find that in "Coins" tab's "Tools" drop-down menu.
(note: after you manually unfreeze a coin, that feature wont intervene with that specific coin even if it's enabled or not)

If it's not enabled, then it's most likely what others have mentioned that you just accidentally or forgot that you've frozen it before.

I see. That makes sense. Thanks. 🙏
