WcashZcash shielded transactions. Equihash proof of work. 21 million maximum.w.cash
PRE-ANN. Mainnet is not live. No mainnet WCASH exists.Current Testnet in a slowstart.
W.Cash Mainnet launches September 19, 2026, at 12:00 UTC. 🐺Wcash is an independent proof-of-work chain derived from Zcash. It retains Zcash-family shielded and transparent transactions and uses Equihash with the Zcash parameters N=200 and K=9.
Wcash may be mined directly or merge-mined with Zcash. These are two proof forms on the same Wcash chain. They do not create separate networks, separate supplies or separate classes of coins.
There is no premine, ICO, presale, founder allocation, treasury reward or protocol development tax.

MiningWcash has one proof-of-work algorithm: Equihash (N=200, K=9).
Mine Wcash directlyA Wcash node or pool builds a Wcash block template. The miner performs Equihash work on that template. A valid solution meeting the current Wcash target produces a Wcash block.
No Zcash node, Zcash block or auxiliary proof is required for direct mining.
Mine Wcash and Zcash togetherA compatible Zcash pool or mining coordinator obtains a Wcash block template and places a domain-separated commitment to it in data covered by the Zcash coinbase transaction ID. It rebuilds the required Zcash block commitments and issues a normal Zcash mining job. The miner performs the usual Equihash work. Each result is checked against both network targets.
A result meeting the Wcash target is submitted to Wcash with the Zcash parent header, Equihash solution, coinbase transaction and transaction Merkle branch binding that work to the claimed Wcash block. A result meeting the Zcash target follows the normal Zcash path. A result meeting both targets may produce a block on both chains.
A result does not need to meet the Zcash network target in order to meet the Wcash target.
Each chain pays its own reward. A Wcash block pays WCASH. A Zcash block pays ZEC. Merged mining does not divide or transfer either reward.
Mine Zcash onlyOrdinary Zcash mining continues unchanged. A Zcash job without a Wcash commitment cannot produce a Wcash block and does not earn WCASH.
Merged mining is optional. Zcash consensus requires no modification, but a pool or coordinator must explicitly support Wcash. It must obtain Wcash templates, insert the commitment, retain the required proof data and submit qualifying results to the Wcash network.
A miner connected to an ordinary Zcash pool cannot enable Wcash independently if the pool has not added support.
Independent chainWcash is not a token, sidechain or copy of Zcash balances. It has its own genesis block, nodes, blocks, transactions, mempool, difficulty, rewards and consensus rules.
Direct blocks and merge-mined blocks compete for the same next Wcash height and must meet the same Wcash difficulty. Every accepted block creates one scheduled Wcash subsidy, regardless of how its proof was produced.
Wcash accepts a Zcash-parent proof only when it commits to the exact Wcash block being claimed. Wcash verifies the Equihash solution, parent header, coinbase transaction and its Merkle inclusion, domain-separated Wcash commitment, chain identifier and Wcash target. Work from an unrelated Zcash job cannot be reused.
Only work produced from Wcash-compatible jobs contributes to Wcash security. The total Zcash network hash rate does not secure Wcash automatically.
SupplySupply can never exceed 21 million WCASH. There is no tail emission. The block producer receives the subsidy and transaction fees; the protocol withholds nothing.
PrivacyWcash retains Zcash-family shielded transactions. A shielded transaction can conceal the sender, receiver and amount while its zero-knowledge proof verifies that no invalid coins were created or spent.
Viewing keys permit selective disclosure. Transparent transactions remain available and are public on the chain.
LaunchThe final mainnet source will identify an exact future Bitcoin block height and will be released before that height is reached.
When the selected Bitcoin block is mined, its complete 32-byte hash will be committed to the zero-reward Wcash genesis block. The hash cannot be known in advance. Before it exists, nobody can calculate the valid mainnet genesis or mine a valid mainnet reward.
Source code, signed reproducible binaries, the genesis generator, consensus specification, test vectors and mining instructions will be published before the anchor height. Every node will derive and verify the same genesis from the released rules.
Genesis creates no spendable coins and imports no balances. Bitcoin-header validation and reorganisation handling will be fixed in consensus before launch.
