Hello, I received my Apollo III last week and I have been trying to get the miner to work and connect it to my Sparrow wallet.
When I unboxed the Apollo III I noticed that one of the perforated tabs was not connected as if it had been opened.
I went to the Future Bit website and followed the instructions for flashing my OS. I now have 2.1.3.
I started up the Apollo III and noted that the Node started to download as expected but the Miner just kept cycling on for about 2 minutes then off and then on for 2 minutes and constantly repeated this. The fan would ramp up to full and then go back to quiet. There was no hash rate reported. So I turned off the Miner and waited about 48 hours for the Node to finish verification and fully sync. Once the Node was finished I tried to connect the Apollo III to my Sparrow wallet but when I enter the User and Pass it returns that it failed the connection.
So, at this point I am not sure how to connect Sparrow and the instructions are useless from the Future Bit website.
Please help.
Thank you.
Are you doing eth cable or wifi.?
Number one: did the Node fully load and synch.
Number two: did you pick solo mining?
Number three do you have a valid btc addy that the Sparrow wallet gave you.
and the instructions say do not turn off the miner when you synch the node.
Thank you for your reply. I have used both ethernet and wifi to interface with the Apollo III. The Miner would automatically start but never hash, and then after a minute or two, it would stop and restart on its own. The Node began to do its syncing and downloading just fine. I turned off the miner manually and allowed the Node to fully load and synch. It was about 48 hours. I did this over ethernet for the most reliable connection. Once the Node was fully downloaded and synched I tried to turn on the Miner again but it continues to cycle a restart on the Miner. The Node continues to function fine.
I only have picked pool mining, however, because I cannot connect Sparrow to the Apollo 3 for some reason, I do not have an address to give to Apollo 3 to distribute payouts. Is that the issue? Then how do I connect Sparrow?
If I select solo mining, it appears I also need an address, but since I can't seem to connect Sparrow, I cannot give Apollo 3 an address.
I do have a valid address from Sparrow, but that isn't the issue: I cannot figure out how to connect Sparrow to the Apollo 3 Node in the first place.
I only turned off the Miner because it continued to cycle itself turning off and on and never hashing.
I have since turned off the entire Apollo 3 because I cannot connect Sparrow to it.
