honest question bc I've seen people in threads here recommend a single platform like it's obviously the best, but rates move constantly and depend on the pair
I check 2-3 platforms before every swap. takes maybe a few minutes. on small amounts the difference is cents and doesn't matter. on anything meaningful the spread between platforms can be noticeable.
platforms I rotate between: Changelly, Changenow, Simpleswap. sometimes Letsexchange. all non-custodial, all roughly the same model. the best one changes by pair and by day 😂
the thing that doesn't change: which one actually has your pair. if you're swapping anything outside the top 50, availability matters more than rate.
curious what others do. single platform out of habit, actively compare, Claude/chatgpt or use an aggregator like Swapzone? and has anyone found one that's consistently better than the others, or is it genuinely pair-dependent every time?

It’s definitely pair-dependent—no single platform dominates because they all draw from different liquidity pools. Quick breakdown: Use Aggregators: Swapzone or SwapSpace pull live rates from Changelly, ChangeNOW, SimpleSwap, etc., onto one screen so you don't have to keep tabs open. Low-Caps / Outside Top 50: Liquidity and token support matter way more than saving a few cents on the spread. Fixed vs. Floating: Floating wins in calm markets. Pay the fixed-rate premium during high volatility to avoid getting hit by slippage. Large Swaps: Watch out for AML/KYC triggers on big instant swaps—splitting orders usually keeps things moving smoother.

It depends, if I swap a small amount of crypto, I usually use Aggregators to easily see price differences and fees from different platforms, I can easily see prices of each platform without opening their platform on multiple tabs. But if I'm doing a big transaction, I'm doing the same thing but I consider other exchanges like CEX if they have the pair that I want or sometimes I trade it to stable coin first and trade to another pair. There are times that I can get the max value from it. But yeah, I only do it on big transaction since I can feel the difference.

Comparing fees across platforms to know which is cheapest is something most of us do. Personally, I do it considering the amount I want to swap. If I'm swapping a small amount, I don't stress myself with checking 4-5 platforms just for few cents difference. But if I'm swapping big amounts, I don't hesitate to compare the costs while also checking the advertised fee because for some platforms, they can give you low fee and still end giving you a worse deal because of the spread of liquidity.

I check the rate, that is very important to me. This is one of the things I can not neglect. If the transaction fee is too higher than the others, I will not use the exchange. Exchanges are competing in everything, so expect their transaction fees to be very similar or the same. Followed by coin availability. If I use a favorite instant exchange and it does not have a coin, I will definitely look for another instant exchange for it. I may not leave the former exchange because I prefer to use more than 3 or 4 or more exchanges.

Sometime those that often consider this are traders because they make most of transaction to often with what they are doing, which is why the often go selective India decision to use a particular exchange for their trading after they would have considered the transaction fees, some people also do this in order to arbitrage, but in most cases are often decided on a platform based on their repetition and then the fee rates

Being selective in considering transaction costs is good but sometimes not everything has to be based on the cheapness of transaction costs. If a lesser known exchange platform offers a lower cost even very cheap than a trusted exchange platform that many people already use then I prefer to use the big exchange even though it costs a little more expensive. Do not ignore the risks and security just because it offers a cheap cost.

But I think there is not much difference if you compare the amount of fees, but if one really considers it, comparing the fees is nothing bad because most exchanges are fond of taking advantage of users. For me, I don't really pay attention because I think the price of fees is not different. My concern about these platforms is how reliable and transparent they are and how traders in the P2P section behave. This is what I look out for in platforms. It is normal that the fees of all platforms won't be the same, but if it is not comfortable for anyone, it is their right to check for the one that should be the actual fee.

The thread looks like an obvious attempt to shill these exchanges, and i think i should point that out for those who may have missed that. It is even worse because these are exchanges that have been selectively scamming people for years, just use the search button and you'll find a plethora of scam accusations against these platforms. Nobody should use these platforms, particularly when you can find better exchanges out there. One last thing, they are also not non-custodial, if they were, they would be unable to block withdrawals of their customers like they have been doing endlessly.

Honestly, fees are negligible in my opinion. Moreover, after regulation and requirement of KYC, I am not able to maintain account on every exchange which are available to my country, so just holding the one which is my favourite and comfortable for some reasons. Recently, I discovered that withdraw fee for USDT on BSC chain in Kucoin exchange is 1 USDT whereas in binance which is only 0.02 USDT, it means, that same type of withdraw is 50x cheaper but due to I hold account on kucoin, I still pay 50x more fee for every time I withdraw as I have not cleared KYC in binance. The above situation would apply for all my exchange related thing, I believe. Honestly, I do not have time to go for researches to find out which is cheaper exchange and where I should trade which token/coin. Overall, for the people, crypto is not in significant percentage of wealth to mange, these fees are not a constrain to filter out an exchange.

I generally bookmark a few specific platforms of my choice and when I need to exchange, I check those platforms to see which one is giving me the best exchange rate. It's not like I'm asking for a list every time using Claude's Chatgpt and then checking the fees of each platform one by one from that list. I currently have three platforms bookmarked that I trust, although I never exchange more than $300 at a time. I think this effort is better than repeatedly searching and entering the platforms again and again to check the rates because it wastes our extra time. However, to stay updated about the market, we should explore it occasionally to find out if any new good platforms have come out.

I think you're right, instead of mentioning an exchange platform whose thread is at the top of the Sub-Forum Exchanges. He instead mentions a platform that has a lot of allegations of fraud. The ANN of the platform that OP mentioned has almost no one posting, which means it's at the bottom of this forum. OP is a new account, how could he possibly mention the names of those platforms, if he wasn't part of it. So the OP seems to be making a covert promotion, by comparing the cost of the platform and bla bla...

I think and act in same light, because I do believe the difference might just be too small to even bother about checking multiple sites for confirmation before proceeding to the one that's best suited. I even think in a way, swapping between several platforms just to check different in rates might be a security threat and make one exposed to malware or some personal mistakes that may be bad. It's always better to just use aggregators or use maybe Claude or chatgpt to save time and stress.

Are you trying to conduct arbitraging between exchange while comparing different exchange all together, and what you gonna do with the fees when trading on centralized exchange is quite different with a slight cent that won't be that much.
I thought you are thinking about the price between different exchange, that's when I could say that you are literally trying to arbitrage.

All of these swaps you have mentioned have got that bad history in the forum. If you will research that, you'd see that there were several complains for each of them. But if you're not having a trouble now, I hope that you won't get in the future. And yes, I d check not the fees but the actual calculation before doing it. And which one has got the better rate, that's where I am doing it. I don't think he's talking about that. It's only about the fees and rates difference across all swaps that we know.

You probably just need to change platform where you do your swaps, I don't mind a lot especially if I want the swap to be done fast but to be cheap as ever I don't think you'll just need a minute for that, you can allocate more if you want it to be thorough especially if that's a huge amount. I think liquidity matters here, it always is, but if I were to swap I think I'll go on platforms that has huge liquidity and I don't want a lot of hassle.
