Bitcoin addresses are to collect fonds but refusing the same address for plenty of transactions can make serious privacy and security concerns while the address does not directly make your Bitcoin to be taken away. It makes your money try activities much faster to trace. 1 Loss of privacy Bitcoin transaction are captured permanently on a public block chain when you always use the same address anyone examining the block chain can see the difference payment collected and the transaction associated with that address this can reveal information about your financial work especially if the address becomes linked to your identity. 2 Easier transactions tracking Address reuse gives block chain analysis to connect multiple transactions together for instance if you have Bitcoin from plenty of people using one address an observer can reasonably assume that those transactions. 3 Greater exposure of your Balance If an address continues having Bitcoin it total balance and transaction history becomes high see n this can make your more sensitive target hackers if the address is publicly associated with you.

I do not see a reason you mention 3 which are still just one which is privacy and can be explained under privacy. Easier transactions tracking and greater exposure of your balance are still all under privacy which I have noticed many people on the forum do not joke with at all but not discouraging their campaign managers to stop paying to only one bitcoin address.

There are situations that changing addresses for every payment will not be possible or let’s say would be just too stressful, and that’s just like the weekly payment received from the campaign manager. But I think the OP wasn’t even complaining about that. he’s just giving advice and it’s actually a good advice because there are some people that when Dey create wallets and the wallet generates multiple addresses for them, they end up not using the other addresses, they only pick one for their transactions which they use repeatedly and it’s definitely not a good way to protect your privacy. I think even if you know something and someone is trying to make a point it’s better you encourage him instead of of trying to bring up a blame on him, because from OP’s post it wasn’t looking like you said he’s advising people to be giving campaign managers new addresses for payment every week. To me the op was more about other transactions not payment like that of signature campaign.

You have a point in this but there is really no serious security concerns associated to reuse of Bitcoin address beside privacy. Someone having a Bitcoin address without the private keys cannot access the wallet. To avoid avoid any unforseen circumstances, someone can keep the wallet holding a large chunk of their portfolio private. He can receive with know address and they use mixers to make the coins anonymous.

It makes your money try activities much faster to trace. Address reuse does not have much security concerns instead it only has privacy concerns atleast for now since quantum computers have not become a thing. In situations where you are making bitcoin transactions with different people, it is better to use another different address for the different transactions instead of continuing to use one address like it is a default. So to stay more private and stop everyone from knowing your exact balance, it is better to change address once in a while.

The only way an address can link to someone's identity is through centralized exchanges, and how many can relate access to that information. Being able to see your balance doesn't make them eligible to spend it, millions of addresses can be collected publicly and scanned on the blockchain, and balance revealed, your role in this is to notice and avoid mistakes when attacked by wallet poisonings or dust attacks, that keeps you on the safe side.

Is it really realistic not to use your address? Because me I don't see how you can use Bitcoin constantly and not reuse an address. If you put out a bitcoin address as the one you use in receiving payments, there is no way you can be changing that address every time. I'm all in for taking privacy seriously, but some things are just unrealistic. I think using a wallet that changes the address after receiving a transaction in it is the best solution. This way even though you are receiving from the same address, when you transfer to another address, it can't be traced to the address you used in receiving because it is sent from a different address.

Definitely privacy should be given importance to keep Bitcoin safe but that does not mean that an address cannot be reused for continuous use or holding Bitcoin. See, even if Bitcoin is continuously deposited in an address, its total balance and transaction history increase a lot, hackers may not be able to hack it easily because I think if the wallet seed phrase or private key is not shared with anyone, hackers may not be able to attack easily. So to keep the wallet safe, you should also know these things such as phishing links and scams.
In fact hackers can send various fake tokens by looking at your wallet address on the blockchain, and to transfer that token, they will take you to a fake website and ask you to connect the wallet, so we should all be careful. Also, smart contact permission; No transactions can be approved after connecting the wallet to an unfamiliar website. At this point, it can be said that knowing the wallet address does not mean being hacked, but if everyone is careful, they will easily be able to keep their Bitcoin savings safe in the long term.

I wonder how you people were able to understand this OP correctly, considering the terrible punctuation and misspelling that is present throughout the writeup. Please bear in mind that I'm not trying to mock you but next time try your best to present your topic better.
Now back to the subject. The reuse of an address in not as catastrophic as you think, except for the possibility of a potential quantum attack in the future (but atleast we are safe for now). For example, participants in signature campaigns don't change their addresses weekly simply because they received a payment in that address. If it was such a big deal then campaign managers would have been updating their spreadsheet weekly, with new bitcoin addresses for all participants.

Address reuse is more like a controversial topic in reality if you ask me. Without disagreeing with the points you highlighted out in your explanation, it's important that you also understand that literally all campaign participants in the forum are guilty of it based on how the payment system is structured which is understandable. Aside from the quantum attack predictions we currently have, and dust attacks people actually pay less attention to it majorly because the HD features of your wallet kinda cancels it out every time you spend a transaction unless you proceed to use coin control regardless.

One thing most of us often overlook is that Bitcoin is transparent by design, so reusing one address can actually create or summarise a clear view of your financial activity over time and it might not allow u to take your Bitcoin directly, but it can expose how much you receive, spend, and maybe holding at the moment and such information can become a security concern if the address is linked to your identity. And for me I prefer using a new receiving address when possible, just something private no stress and it makes it harder for people to track your transactions.

It’s actually a controversial discussion but I think we need to understand something about address reuse which is that people think that when I submit my address to my campaign manager or post it here on this forum I should actually reuse another address when I need to submit again which is true but that’s not entirely all about address reuse. Address reuse is you avoiding giving one address to multiple to platforms or people. For example if I give you one address to send me bitcoin it’s ok to reuse that again if I want to do another transaction with you because you already know that the address belongs to me. But when I want to have a transaction with another person say OP it’s bad reusing the address I gave to you with this OP rather it’s should be new address giving to another person this is the way I think we can best avoid the reuse of address. Then while spending from each address I don’t have to get them connected together this way OP doesn’t know I own the address I gave to you and you don’t also know that I own the address giving to OP and this a little private in my opinion

Using the same wallet address to carry out multiple transactions doesn't means the user is liable to lose his bitcoin, However it may pose serious privacy issues in the future. The moment multiple transactions are link to the same wallet address it can be easy for someone to trace or know exactly the amount of bitcoin the owner of the wallet is holding. To keep our bitcoin transaction private,it is good not to used the same wallet in carrying out different transactions.
