People have diverse reasons for being interested in Bitcoin. Some see it as digital money; some of us look at it as something that would become more valuable in the future; and a few others have their own way of looking at it Amidst all this, I have a tricky question for you: “What’s that thing that could make you completely lose interest in Bitcoin?” I'm not talking about a temporary loss of interest. I'm talking about a total and complete loss of interest in Bitcoin just like some of us have for pineapple on pizza. Is there something that could make you say: "Nah that's it. I'm done with Bitcoin." Could it be something like: A serious security failure? Or a heavy centralization of Bitcoin? Or governments successfully banning or restricting Bitcoin? Or an increase in transaction fees? Or a massive decline in the price of Bitcoin? Or even a massive personal loss? Or the advent of a more superior cryptocurrency? What is your red flag? Or a heavy centralization of Bitcoin?
This will be a major reason to me because it means both security failure and restrictions. If Bitcoin becomes highly centralized, it becomes controlled by CBN just like in the caae of fiat and the value of security will totally lost including unveiling the identify of every owner of Bitcoin, P2P transactions will no longer be secret. At the moment, if you hodl Bitcoin through exchange, your identity is likely known if government decides to run a check through them because of KYC policy but if that "salt" of decentralization is totally taken away from btc, it means Bitcoin will likely collapse and volatility may also reduce, store of value too may not mean anything anymore, manipulation will seriously set in etc. It will be a big deal if decentralization is lost in Bitcoin because it is what Bitcoin stands for.

None of these mention above could make me determine to leave Bitcoin, there is no security threats regarding bitcoin network because of the blockchain technology and everything has to work in line with the protocol, bitcoin cannot be centralized either, government may decided to ban the use of cryptocurrency but bitcoin cannot be banned from people to be used individually because it operate under it the centralized network, increase in transaction fee cannot be so inflated in such a way that it becomes unaffordable, when we have the option of tracking the men put to know when it is less busy to make a cheaper transaction, lastly, there is no coin that can surpass the relevance and value of bitcoin in cryptocurrency.

Explain to me exactly how bitcoin can/will become heavily centralized, it's no owned by one person and by design can never be owned by one person, anyone can run a node if they want to, infact even if 1 person ended up owning over 50% of the total available bitcoin it still won't become centralized, a change in price might be prone to influence but it will still remain a decentralized asset. Correct me if I'm wrong.

If bitcoin could be centralized, don't you think they will have done that long a go? As long as Internet exists and there are miners to confirm bitcoin transactions, we will keep having unaltered access to bitcoin as the end users.

To be honest the only thing that can make me pause form Bitcoin and yes i know you meant permanently but i dont think anything right now can make me lose interest completely in Bitcoin but temporarily if i lose my source of income, I might have to take a break from Bitcoin investing and find a way forward then when i get a new source of income i will obviously return back to Bitcoin. This is because i am of the honest fact that you need money to invest properly in Bitcoin or at least somewhere the money is coming from.

It is not easy to centralize Bitcoin at the moment and it seems almost impossible at the moment. But yes, if I ever see Bitcoin being centralized, I will definitely sell more than 80% of my Bitcoin holdings and keep holding about 20%. Because when a few companies or countries centralize Bitcoin, they can use Bitcoin as they wish and they can control the price of Bitcoin as they wish. So if there is ever a possibility of centralization, then I may lose faith in Bitcoin. We may see transaction fees increase a lot in the future. Because when all the Bitcoins are mined, everyone will continue to rely on transaction fees and maybe the acceptability of Bitcoin will increase a lot and if there is additional pressure on the network, we may have to pay more transaction fees.

What can make me to permanently lose interest in Bitcoin cannot happen and as a long as it doesn't any other changes are secondary, if Bitcoin ceases to be decentralized and somehow it's limited supply changes to unlimited supply, it would lose it's value and become one of those shitcoins. As far as it continues to mantain these core values I don't care much if most of it is in the hands of whales and institutions, they can manipulate the market on a short time to create FOMO or FUD to their own gains but it wouldn't stop what Bitcoin originally is and it cannot be centralized even as a strategic reserves in the hands of any government. Bitcoin adoption is increasing, when it was created many of us had skeptical views about it but hear we are today as Bitcoiners, so it shows the opposite of what you are asking, people are permanently gaining interest in Bitcoin rather than losing interest in it.

I don't know of others, why they would want to give up on Bitcoin, by abandoning it completely like they are done with it, but in my own opinion, it can only be possible if I was still ignorant, and because of my ignorance, I lost a huge amount of money that I cannot afford to lose or their is a massive decline in my investment where I later sell at a massive loss because I can't wait for it to appreciate back in value or ignorance maks me believe that it can't appreciate back in value, that is the only thing that would have made me make such a decision not to look at the direction of Bitcoin again. But it's not possible now again because I am already informed, so I don't think their is anything that will happen to Bitcoin that has happened before that will make me not want to invest in Bitcoin again.

Indeed, he totally forgot the main reason of bitcoin invention was to avoid centralization and that why bitcoin was created to be a decentralized currency. The decentralization of bitcoin was brought to existence just to eliminate the centralization so people can have the full authority over their own finances without needing any regulation from any authorities. Government can’t have the control of bitcoin and even if we are assuming then i don’t think such assumptions will come to existence not for bitcoin. All they can do is add restrictions to using bitcoin but even that will be difficult too because they are also making use of this technology and some are holding this same digital currency.

Bitcoin's policy has been fixed in advance and this government has made many rules and regulations before which have not been useful. And since bitcoin's policy will not change in the future, these imaginary things have no resemblance to reality, so those who are getting involved with bitcoin will not give up bitcoin at all. Currently, bitcoin has the strictest digital security system in the world. Without bitcoin's seedphrase, it is not possible to access the wallet in any way. How can bitcoin become centralized when the fundamental thing about bitcoin is that it has no controller. And in the past, the government had banned or restricted bitcoin, but despite all this, it could not stop the curiosity and popularity of people about bitcoin. And bitcoin's transaction fee is almost fixed. Where it can be done more or less by calculating the time. And you talked about the big fall in the price of bitcoin, in fact, those who invest in bitcoin do not give much importance to this kind of downfall in the price of bitcoin in the short time. The volatility of bitcoin's price is a common thing. And you mentioned financial loss, if someone suffers financial loss due to their own personal mistake, then bitcoin is not responsible for it. This decision is not applicable only to the person who is investing incorrectly. If in the future a situation come where my financial condition has become so bad that I have to sell all my accumulated assets and bitcoin, then I will be forced to refrain from investing in bitcoin, but in that bad situation, bitcoin holding can protect us. And about cryptocurrency, you said that people actually got the idea about cryptocurrency through bitcoin. And this system of bitcoin is not in any other cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is different from all kinds of altcoins. I have already answered the answers to all your other questions above. So those who know and understand about bitcoin and have financial capacity will always trust bitcoin for this.

Satoshi and bitcoin developers are not lazy like those people that created new coins, DeFi and Bridges that are getting hacked all the time, so I do not expect any vulnerability that will permanently lead to what will make people lose interests in bitcoin.
I am not expecting the bitcoin mining to be centralized and censored. It is 17 years now, but it is not centralized or censored.
The bitcoin supply is not what any bitcoin community is trying to alter.
All I am always expecting is all-time high. I will prefer that kind of discussion than this one.

I can't imagine anything that would make me permanently lose interest in bitcoin as long as I understand that bitcoin has a fixed supply of just 21 million. Yes, this is my strength, so when it gets centralised or declines greatly, then it will only be a matter of time before it bounces back. Bitcoin has proven itself over the years so what ever happens to bitcoin will not be new entirely as there has been days or years when the price went as low as over 70 percent and it still rose to where it is. Even when everyone thought bitcoin was going to end during the early stage when price went so low due to theft, it still recovered.
If the government has a way of phasing off bitcoin from existence, then I will not be in what does not longer exist. But if it's all policy issues and bitcoin still exist, then it will always remain relevant to me.

Losing all my coins to a wallet attack would be even more frustrating knowing that I did everything I could to keep them secure, only to have criminals breach my wallet. For many people who were victims of the recent Coldcard attack, I doubt they will look at crypto the same way they did before the hack. They may not hate Bitcoin or crypto, but they might no longer be willing to invest their hard-earned money or put as much trust in the industry as they did before. The negative effects of wallet hacks go far beyond simply losing coins. They also damage investors' trust in Bitcoin and the crypto industry as a whole. It only teaches us that no security form is 100% secured so while you invest more money into security you should have it at the back of your mind that any thing is possible..

To be honest none of the above reasons alone seem like a reason to completely move away from Bitcoin. Increasing fees or the popularity of a new coin are all natural market changes. Even if the government takes a tough stance, the Bitcoin core network won't just shut down. What could really change the decision would be if the fundamental structure of Bitcoin were to break down to the point where people can no longer verify and control transactions on their own, because full nodes independently verify consensus rules, that's a crucial part of the system. And I think which is not possible

I understand that there are core devs who constantly maintain the security of Bitcoin and those who also audit it to find and fix bugs so the security won't really be an issue but what would make me totally dislike Bitcoin is if it becomes centralized. Bitcoin being decentralized makes it tough for the government to control and if they end up doing that in future then it could become shitty, they'll alter the 21m fixed supply.

What's the beauty of Bitcoin, decentralization right, would centralization happen, I don't think so because the brains behind Bitcoin knows that once this happens, the purpose for a totally decentralized currency will be conquered, I don't like discussing things like this, some persons will say no one knows the future, that's the truth, but with what Bitcoin has faced all these years, I do not need anyone to tell me that Bitcoin can't be centralized, which is the reason why after all the fight, the government of different nations has decided on their own to make Bitcoin a national reserve, the government knows that it will be impossible for them to totally take control of Bitcoin, All thanks to Satoshi.

For me to permanently lose interest in bitcoin is only when bitcoin seizes to be a volatile asset, what I’m trying to say is if bitcoin stops reducing and increasing in value of its price then I’ll lose interest in it. Government or individuals taking over bitcoin isn’t the issue with me, i wouldn’t have any issue whoever takes over bitcoin but my issue will be if the government fails to live up to bitcoin’s potential. Many people are investing in bitcoin because they saw it as an asset capable of increasing in returns and also providing them financial security and privacy. The fact bitcoin is still going to always be able to increase in price/value even if it’s goes down at some point in time then i can’t quit bitcoin.

I think you have already given all the reasons possible for this to happen from your questions. However, some of these situations are not feasible in my opinion, so I will rather use my energy to do useful things than thinking about scenarios that are nearly impossible to occur. For question related to security flaws such as massive personal loss, it is possible but also avoidable through personal custody, backups and good security practices. Also, bitcoin price had crashed massively in the past but we never abandoned it. My simple advice for you is to approach bitcoin in these manners; 1. Keep stacking coins 2. Ensure you secure it properly 3. Focus on how to avoid unnecessary security risks instead of focusing on a hypothetic scenario that may not likely happen in our lifetime. Read this to get started Thank me later

In regards to the question you just asked above, the only thing that can make me lose interest in Bitcoin completely is if it happens to stop being a decentralized digital currency, whereby the government and its central banks now start having control over it. Because inasmuch as Bitcoin still remains that decentralized digital currency where we can invest our money while staying anonymous and still having control over it, I will keep investing and believing in Bitcoin. And secondly, the price value of bitcoin is also another factor that can determine if I will keep believing in it or not, because the moment the price value of it falls to around $1000, then i will lose hope in it.
