With Hong Kong's cryptocurrency regulations fans are real bothered about whether or not they can wear the Chelsea jersey without breaking laws in the process seeing as wearing the jersey can be seen as promoting the USDC stablecoin and it's not just about the people who will wear it, even retailers are concerned and the concern is very simple 'can selling or wearing the Chelsea jersey with the USDC logo be seen as advertising or promoting a stablecoins that isn't licensed in Hong Kong'

They will be wise to wait for further clarifications but I dont think wearing a jersey should constitute active marketing or marketing of any sorts. The product was bought for a purpose besides the sponsorship brand on the print. I am curious to know if they blur out the sponsor details when showing Chelsea matches over there and any related ads that shows up on the advertising boards.

If there's a ban or prohibition on cryptocurrency-related services or transactions in Hong Kong, I doubt if someone will be going against the law on that since you are not selling or offering any services of such, so the real intention should be understood, and besides, you're only supporting a football club and not a crypto company, and what's written on the jersey of the club you're supporting should not be of much concern, so I think this case is clear, and secondly, it won't be too noticeable for the law enforcement agencies in Hong, Kong. However, if that would be a problem, then I think their government should come out clear whether it's legal or illegal to do such; it is now left in the hands of the government of Hong Kong to decide.

Isn't marketing and promotion the actual reason for the sponsorship deal between Chelsea and USDC circle. If I wear a Chelsea jersey right now am not only showing off the Chelsea badge/logo but the USDC that is boldly printed on the front of the jersey. As fans we may buy the jersey in support of our team but we're invariably promoting and advertising whatever brand is boldly printed on the jersey whether we agree about it or not.

For now it's better to avoid publicly wearing the Chelsea jersey in Hong Kong based on the current regulation policy on USDC, until there's a clarification and interpretation of how that law affects anyone wearing or selling the Chelsea jersey.
