Something caught my eye and I think it would be wise to make it public given the current situation with sig bans. It is logical to expect that those who were left without their signatures for a long time will try to build new alt farms and I think I spotted a new one. I wouldn't pay too much attention to such things in the early stages (most accounts are only a few days old), but I see that some old members give them merits, although it's quite strange that completely new members have so much knowledge about some things.

Let's take a look at who they are and how they operate:

User kaankaya Date Registered:    28 August 2026
User louis2608 Date Registered:    31 August 2026
User David Uqic Date Registered:  07 September
User DKeller Date Registered: 04 September 2025

If you look at the post history of the mentioned members, you can notice that in some cases they quote each other, which indicates that there is probably one person behind the alt farm. The last account (@DKeller) was created in 2025, but he only started posting a few months ago, but he gave himself away because he sent 1 merit to @kaankaya.

Since they wrote fewer than 20 posts combined, there's very little to go on, other than the fact that none of those four accounts look like they are new to bitcointalk (which is a common thing lately).

Imo, it might have been the better course of action to just observe them for some time and let put some effort into them, before doing something about it. This way they just might got spooked, will ditch the accounts and make new ones.

But yeah, we can expect a lot of new accounts, and the old ones waking up. I already have some suspicious looking ones on my watchlist, waiting to wake up.   Wink

That's an interesting point.
I have a feeling that some old accounts have been waking up, with an unusual approach. I'm getting the feeling that these are accounts that were hacked or bought some time ago, and are now starting to be used.

Something to watch out for.

All of them are using AI to write their posts, so they should be nuked or banned by moderators. If they were created by a sigbanned user, they are probably shitposters who couldn’t earn merit and will have a hard time ranking up any of their new accounts even with the help of AI. It was better to expose the farm now, in my opinion, to discourage them from creating more accounts and letting their spam get out of hand.

I'm more in favor of this approach, because why let them build an alt farm that will be exposed publicly sooner or later anyway? In addition, older members should be warned to be a little careful about who they give merits to - because realistically, without those who give merits there is no progress for these spammers.

It doesn't surprise me, we've reached a point where no one does anything anymore without the help of AI.

It's kinda optimistic to think that this would discourage them, while it will most likely just teach them a few lessons about what to do to avoid attracting attention when they make new accounts (if they haven't already). Tongue
