I have have decided to bring up this topic because of my personal experience as a Nigerian. When you go online, and open some job portals in Nigeria, you see government jobs online, and when these opportunities are displayed on line, you see graduates applying for these jobs, but at the end, you see people who don't even apply for this jobs being the ones to gain the the employment. Nigeria is a country that the young graduates have no confidence about securing a good job, and they only post these opportunities online so that it will look as if they are doing genue employment, meanwhile the they have shared the job opportunities among themselves, and even sell some of the opportunities to make money for themselves.
In Nigeria, getting a good job is actually very difficult, and unless by God intervention because even when you have passed an interview, they will bring somebody to replace you. I have someone who went for an interview, wrote DSS exams, and passed, and even his name was shortlisted after the exams, but during the main recruitment, he was not called, and personally I have also experienced it, and many others.
So I want to ask, where is the confidence of Nigerian graduates, and youths when it comes to provision of job opportunities when the government cannot ensure transparency job recruitment?
Your opinions are highly welcomed.
