The funny reason that I have heard of from these traders that sells their ideas and courses is that, they're done with their trading and have earned a lot. And, what they want to share their knowledge. What I don't understand with them is that if they want to help the community and share their knowledge, can't they do it for free? since they have earned a lot, and probably done with it. They can monetize those ideas they share for free and the community won't be slack to forget how helpful they are instead of selling it.

What would you consider a reasonable monthly return for a trader?
A reasonable profit for a trader is around 3–5% per month. However, in the context of crypto trading, some traders expect more than that by taking on higher risks. That’s a very good approach. I’d go one step further and say the journal should be verified by an independent third party.
Ideally, it shouldn’t be provided by the broker or prop firm either, because that can create a potential conflict of interest if they have an incentive to attract users.
The verification should be independent and focused purely on proving the trader’s actual track record.
You already replied to me with your alt account, why do it twice? And why are you talking to yourself? https://bitlist.co/post/67134461

Its simple, if the signals make profit, the human being who is able to profit from it will enter a status quo because their income is now large and increasing and they would not even think about making money through other methods.
Selling a signal in real, if that signal is correct, is a loss for the person who is doing it.
Audience from social media will first have to generate that audience which means they have to run their social media for some years before they can actually make money from them. Posting your "correct signal" to a place with no viewers means wasting your own time. You would better use that time to trade on that signal, if its actually correct.
Thus it makes the entire business of signals largely scam.

Yes, you are right on the question to ask, because it's how quality of your service and not some piece of shit a trader promise to deliver, the same goes to a company that claim to deliver a product that isn't seems to be excellent.
It's understandable that not every knowledgeable trader has capital, I've seen and been in many groups offering signals and I've followed up the tips they drop, I got good results, lucky to be the group with smart trader. But how about others who joins the wrong ones, just imagining their experience-messy.
A reliable signal provider always makes honest commitments to traders, explaining strategies in a way that acknowledges the possibility of loss alongside potential profit. You are absolutely right that many knowledgeable traders lack the necessary capital; consequently, even when they identify a promising signal, they are unable to execute the trade. While there are many channels where experts share valuable signals benefiting many there are also individuals who incur losses due to a lack of experience. Furthermore, people often fall victim to scam channels, suffering financial losses by following the signals provided there. Prudent individuals carefully select reputable groups, allowing them to trade based on expert advice and minimize risk. In contrast, those who lack such judgment often avoid expert groups, opting instead for scam sites where they lose their money. Ultimately, those who join the wrong groups face continuous financial loss; therefore, they should learn from these experiences and wisely switch to joining reputable, reliable groups.

Basically, selling signals, if they're truly good, is fine, and there's no problem with that. It's simply insight translated into trading signals that customers can instantly copy. Therefore, I believe a trader doesn't have to constantly trade and do nothing else. They have desires and goals, too. Furthermore, if we focus too much on trading and don't have any real-world businesses, that's clearly not a good idea. Other businesses are also very necessary, such as opening classes or opening a YouTube channel. These are also very good, especially if the content isn't just about trading signals but also includes insights. So, the point is, don't immediately label traders who consistently provide signals as bad. I'm sure not all of them have bad intentions in fact, many have good intentions. Ultimately, everyone is free to do whatever they want,, as long as it doesn't harm others. So, traders are free to do whatever they want...

If you're a good trader, and as good as the people who say that make their claims, then the power of compounding should mean that capital is a temporary problem.
If you don't have capital and can't make enough from trading to grow it, then you're selling signals as a scammer.
Sorry but that's the truth, everything else you would say are excuses.

Of course that is right but there is a little differential in it because even though you have 100k in your balance as a trading amount that you have and you do not know the right thing to do you would always end up losing them completely because you do not know the right tools, strategy to deploy to help you boost your account balance back. So, sometimes even as people do say that our balance determines what we would be earning as profits while trading always matters, and yes it does and Yes it doesn't because they all dependant on the sole trader who is behind the account that has such amount. A pro could have such balance and end up multiplying it within few Weeks while there are people who would have such amount and burn it within few minutes if they don't know what they are doing. Most people sells their signals and trading because they are also making money from it, it would surprise you that those who are selling those curse are not even making any money from trading.

What do you think?
Do you see selling signals, creating trading content, or teaching as a legitimate way for a good trader to scale beyond their own capital?
And more importantly, what would you consider enough evidence that a signal provider can actually trade?
No selling signals or creating educational contents about trading to guide audience or to make people earn from trading is never a bad idea, it is helpful for beginners who wants proper guidance to get more confidence in their trades. The disadvantage is that, some newbies traders rely completely on these signals alone, they don’t pay attention to the contents that will guide them more in their trades, they only focus on the signals they buy especially if they trust the trader or the influencer just to make money, and it is not the right thing to do; they should try to be learning from the knowledge being shared, so that when there need for any correction in their trades, they can do that easily and they can also decide not to completely buy signals by trying to trade in their own.

But there have been no signals which have been consistently good. They might be good at the beginning but in the long run, they're not showing any consistency anymore. That's why they have been labelled as bad as they can be due to that. And most of these signals are also coming from other sources that are being passed on to different groups. There's nothing wrong if someone keeps on finding signals and that's the one they are using for their trades. But start learning to trade for yourself and you won't be relying on these signals.

So naturally, traders look for ways to scale their edge beyond their own account.
Some create educational content. Some build an audience on YouTube. Some offer signals. Some trade through prop firms. Some manage other people's capital.
None of these things are inherently bad.
Most of the traders selling signals and doing teaching videos on social media platforms particularly sees this means as an edge to no risk in making funds from other traders. Creating educational contents can be done for purpose of sharing trading knowledge but when it's monetize then it can be easily understood that it's the main source of making funds by that individual and not that he's actually making money from trading on the market. Then again, why manage other people's capital when you ain't an institution with insurance covering such funds in the case of a loss. Traders that does this are taking a non valid risk, one that's not worth it.

I don't think a really legit trader would ever sell signals. Yes, it could be that he can make educational content on YouTube, I means teach people about market analysis. But I think the main purpose of those 'so called' traders we see selling VIP signals on Telegram, is to get new users to join through their referral link, so that they can profit from their trades, that means get referral commission. Apart from that I don't see any other reason, because a real trader never show off his money publicly to attract people. Yes, a good trader's may have small capital, but if he wants, he can use his skills on a prop firm to trade with more capital.

Honestly, I don't really care whether the person is a good trader themselves. If they're teaching, I care about whether they're providing accurate and useful information. If they're offering signals, copy trading, etc., I care about whether they can provide a reliable, verifiable performance record without manipulating or cherry-picking the results. That performance could even come from a demo or simulator, as long as it closely reflects the actual market. I don't believe you have to be a great football player to be a great coach. Some people understand the game extremely well but simply don't have the physical ability to play 90 minutes. Trading can be similar. Someone can understand the market, have a solid strategy, and identify good trades, but still struggle to hold positions when their own money is at risk. That's a psychological issue, and it doesn't necessarily say anything about their analytical ability or the quality of their strategy. Show me a long-term track record with a good profit factor, win rate, P&L and drawdown, and I'm willing to judge you based on that. If the performance is reliable and verifiable, I honestly wouldn't care whether you ever traded a single cent of your own money. I'd still consider following your trades.

Just because someone sells trading signals doesn't automatically make them good traders. There are lots of people out there that don't really understand trading that much but they find a way to deceive others into thinking that they are experts in trading whereas they know nothing about it. The reason why a lot of people out there fall for all these trading scammers out there is because they are not willing to put in the work to make their own research. Using signals doesn't improve your trading skills, it just makes you more dependent on people that you aren't sure of. To know if a trader is really as good as he or she claims to be showing you results isn't enough, they should place a trade while you observe how it turns out.

The problem with sellers of signals is that if they're profitable, why sell and your title and this thread is all about hits that question perfectly.
I will be impress if they are really profitable and because they have a lot of time and able to make good trades, they have free sessions which is giving back to the community.
That’s the main point I was trying to make. Trading returns are percentage-based, and not everyone has enough capital for even a good percentage return to meet their financial expectations. So for a genuinely profitable trader, selling signals or providing other services can be a legitimate way to scale beyond their own capital. As for offering everything for free, I see two reasons why a profitable trader might not want to do that. The first is simply that they also need to make money from their skills and time. The second is that, like many traders, I believe a good strategy can lose part of its edge once it becomes publicly known and widely adopted. So keeping the actual strategy private while monetizing the results or signals can be perfectly reasonable. As for proving that a signal provider can actually trade, I would put much more weight on a transparent, verifiable track record through a third party than on screenshots, claims, or free trading sessions. I get it and why they won't sell free sessions. I think that the best option for them is not to aggravate the situation where they're sharing it to whoever receives their signal. And in the end, if the call is bad, they won't be blame for it. Through going with prop firms, they're lessening the risk from the other people they share it and at the same time the money they put at risk isn't theirs but they have to work for that prop and that's profit sharing if they are that really good.

Yes, that's true, because they're basically just trying to make money using their skills. Of course, if they create a signal group and get just 1,000 members, that's already quite a significant profit. So, yes, quite a few people also open classes or provide trading signals even though they're not yet highly skilled. So, given this situation, I also feel that learning to trade independently is better than relying on signals from others. Because if we rely too much, it's clearly not good in the end. We certainly won't hone our skills properly, and we'll also feel it's unnecessary. Why bother learning when we can get trading signals from others? That's clearly wrong, because trading signals can be both profitable and destructive. So, it's better to learn on your own, as it's certainly more satisfying.

Signal sellers are LARPs and they make money from other people's loss. They always fake it until you make it but at what point does that become too bothersome and nobody would ever trust them anymore? so tired of my timeline full of signal seller larping 100x gain.

I believe most trader who sell signal or knowledge arent actually good and profitable trader. Most of them are just faking it. However, I prefer idea of selling rather than giving them away for free. You are right that most free thing arent really valued or taken seriously. Selling the service can also filter out people who just want to get it for free and then resell it for their own profit. It could say this approach can be beneficial in some case. Buyer tend to take what they receive more seriously, while seller also have more reason to maintain the quality of their service.

If someone claims that their signals are always accurate, will give regular guaranteed profits . and there is no risk then that claim should be viewed with suspicion. Because no signal in the market can guarantee the future. It is not certain that a signal seller will make more profit than selling the signal if he trades himself. His own capital and risk-taking ability may be different. The problem is not in selling signals. The problem is in false promises, false claims of success and exploiting people's desire for quick profits. An investor or trader should verify and understand a signal by himself instead of blindly following it. Ultimately, the responsibility for profit and loss lies with him.

In the truth, Crypto trading signals are real alerts based on algorithms or technical analysis, but the most majority of paid or influencerled signal groups are scams or marketing hypes. You can read crypto charts yourself by using Relative Strength Index (RSI) and Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD).
