Initially we had about 8 weeks schedule for our crypto casino first release.
It became close to 10 months.
The challenge was not in creation of particular parts of the casino software.
It was in making them integrate.
Here is our approximate schedule:
Weeks 1-6 frontend + PAM
Weeks 4-10 games + API implementations
Weeks 7-13 crypto payments + wallets
Weeks 9-15 KYC/AML
Weeks 14-20 bonuses + blockchain transactions analysis
Weeks 18-24 integration testing
Weeks 20-32 edge cases integration
The crypto payment integration by itself would take 2-3 days. However, the failures, confirmations, wallet reconciliation, withdrawals, KYC prompts and reporting followed.
Similarly, the games turned out to be tricky. Establishing an API connection was simple. The settlement, reattempts, round states and balance synchronization were not.
It turned out we needed to evaluate four alternatives:
1. In-house blockchain casino.
Maximum control, however, with realistic development timeline of 5-8 months plus DevOps, QA and security.
2. Turnkey crypto casino.
Way more time-efficient as the PAM system, games, payments and back office exist. Still, with less architectural control.
3. Existing platform plus custom development.
Keep the core platform externally and develop the frontend, CRM and player-oriented functionality internally.
4. Casino API/aggregator.
Great for the game content. However, does not provide wallets, PAM, payments, KYC/AML and back office.
The general approach we used:
https://nuxgame.com/blog/next-generation-solutions-for-web3-casinosDon’t develop something just because you can. Develop something because you can benefit from owning it.
I'd suggest considering this option for anyone thinking about Bitcoin or crypto casino: outsource the infrastructure and focus the custom development where it makes sense.
