Lately, everyone seems to be competing to learn the latest technology, master the newest AI tool, or understand how AI works. But how many are thinking about creating the technology itself or owning the infrastructure behind it? Is our definition of technological progress limited to how dependent we are to using it rather than owning it?

We are becoming better consumers and users of technology, but are we interested in becoming technology owners at the same pace?
The whole AI boom makes this even more important. Let's assume that everyone can eventually access powerful AI tools. Do you know that, simply knowing how to use them may become less of an advantage. The bigger advantage may belong to those who build the models, infrastructure, platforms and intellectual property. And it still begs the question, Do we find ourselves in the Building part kf this technological boom?
I'm not saying we shouldn't use technology created elsewhere. We should and our technological advancement is still at the base level but using technology should be the beginning, not the destination like what's the case with the rush into learning and mastering any new AI model and the likes.
So my question is:
By 2036, that's 10 years from now, will Nigeria mainly be one of the world's biggest technology consumer's, or will we also own some of the technology the world depends on?
