🚨 ATIKU: I’LL BRING BACK FUEL SUBSIDY IF ELECTED
Former Vice President and presidential candidate of the action Democratic party Atiku Abubakar says he would restore a form of fuel subsidy if elected president in 2027, with focus on supporting local refineries and making petrol cheaper.
He says this could help reduce the pressure on transport fares and food prices. But Nigerians are asking: Can Nigeria afford another subsidy regime?
Subsidy or no subsidy which one do you think is better for Nigerians?

Op before I go ahead to make my contribution, I believe you know when subsidy was there, was things difficult as it is now? I'm not making this statement because of what Atiku said, we know our politicians, they are washy washy, they say different things to cling to power, once they get it, they turn their back on the people, but that will not stop us from speaking candidly, Tinubu created these loopholes for himself, he said if subsidy is removed, the money from subsidy will be used to develop the country, the refinery will face a total rehab, he said all this but we did not experience any of such, if Nigeria is a country whose election is decided from polls, Tinubu can not win, He messed up, but let's see how the game plays out.

In all countries, there are many things that the government are subsidizing. If fuel subsidy is back, the price of many things will also fall. But what if the government have bad policies, the price may rise back and rise more. The price of things in Nigeria have been rising even during when there was fuel subsidy. It is better it is left the way it is, Nigerians will survive than another president to be elected and remove the subsidy again. For those of you that said I am benefiting from Tinubu, I saw all what you were posting but I just did not want to reply. People have the right to vote and support anyone that they want. I am not supporting any party, I am not going to vote because I see all of them to be the same. I am not benefiting from Tinubu in anyway.

Even though it is totally your choice to decide whether you’ll go and vote or not, I’d want you to know that political apathy is affecting this country a lot and it’s even making the process of rigging the elections easier for these people. Almost all, if not All of these politicians are the same but some are actually better than others, so you should weigh and chose the better candidate wisely then go out on the Election Day to vote, not voting because you consider them all the same isn’t going to make the situation better in any way.

I was still in Nigeria when Jonathan was ousted, everyone wanted Jonathan to leave and they were seeing Buhari like a Messiah but what happened? Bullying PDP, high inflation and insecurity continued. You can think you are voting wisely but you can later tell yourself that you voted for the wrong person. What that I want is to live a good life without any dependency on any government.

The situation of Nigeria is a bad one because we don't even know which one to do again. Back in the subsidy days, we saw how had things were, everyone complained but I can assure you that the suffering was nothing compared to this day. This is three years since the removal of subsidy without prior plan to cushion the effects on the masses. Now an average Nigerian is getting used to the suffering again and Atiku is talking about bringing back subsidy. Life can still get better if only these leaders start looking into the policies they make and start getting interesting in the welfare of the citizens.
If Atiku brings back subsidy, will that not be a good avenue to siphon the public funds into a personal account? We saw the level of looting that happened during the Good luck Ebele Jonathan's regime. How well will he supervise other units to be sure that funds are not looted from those areas like subsidy? I don't even think that Nigerians are ready to accept any subsidy promise again because we already know that they will always find sweet words to get into power and then turn their backs on us.
Just vote your choice with reason and not bias.

Well, this is what every Nigerian wants to hear at this point even though we know all the politicians are the same and even if they are given the opportunity they still won't fulfill their promises so no one is to be trusted. It is our choice to choose who we want to lead us come 2027 and I will want to encourage every Nigerian to choose who will better their lives. Atiku will definitely turn our economy around if he I elected into office. If the subsidy is brought back the economy will atleast be stable abit even though we will still complain that things are bad but the cost of transportation will drastically reduce because fuel is the bedrock of the economy and once the price crashes down it will reduce the inflation. All I can say to Nigerians is to please vote wisely whether for Peter Obi or Atiku Abubakar, all that matters is to vote who will better our lives as a country.

The important question we should ask him is why can’t he fix the refineries in the country, so we can refine the oil here and produce the fuel here, which I believe will make the fuel cheaper for us. Our country should go beyond the era of debating if we should have fuel subsidies or not. We should be talking of having refineries in each of the oil producing states. Why are the government of this country not always looking at that direction?

You really have known these politicians very well, they are ready to promise Nigerian heaven just to enter power. But what atiku said make sense,we need a leader who will remove subsidy so that the price of things in the market will come down but it happens that the person who is making these promises is a selfish politician and i don't trust him..if these same words was from Peter Obi, i would have believe that he will do what he says after he is elected as president but somebody like atiku is a no go area. There are politicians that i trust and atiku is on that list, However, i may not know whether is intentions are true but his past deeds when he was vice president is why i don't consider him as someone we should trust with power.

We can't still trust Atiku, this is how they make plenty promises but when elected they show up their real colour. Atiku Abubaka has been desperately looking for a way to be the president of this country, he has been running for the presidency position with different party for years now so i think he can't be able to offer anything even if he is been elected as the president of Nigeria in 2027, if not for corruption among INEC and the judicialry Tinubu wouldn't have be president today. I wish our vote will count this time, Peter Obi will be a more better candidate for that position more than anybody who came out in that presidential position.
