Hello,

In case you have been debating selling your GPU farm I invite you to first try mining Heavycoin. Excellent devs, unique algorithm, and every block mined You get to cast a vote on the final amount of coins created!

See our Thunderclap for more info and links and leave scrypt coins to asics behind.

There's also the new gpus... 50% more efficient Nvidia 750 ti.  Scrypt Asics still viable but so are gpu

EDit, should say gpu are more viable/flexible.  Especially as gpu tech continues to improve

How does it use less electricity? I would think if the GPU was fully utilized, regardless of the algorithm, it would use the same amount of electricity.

x11 is ASIC resistant to the extent there's no ASICs on the horizon specifically for it YET, but given all the component algos are designed to be easily implemented in hardware it will happen and quicker than scrypt has!

Having said that it's a great stopgap, very profitable coins per kWh and I'm loving the reduced noise of my cooler rigs Smiley

X11 uses less power and generates less heat, most likely because the implementation is inefficient. X11 is also not ASIC-resistant in the slightest.

Incorrect: Groestl uses less power and generates less heat, making it most power efficient algo. Might want to read the forum more for comparison between Groestl and x11.

That's like saying all cars should get the same gas mileage.  GPUs aren't all the same.  Case in point, I specifically mentioned the Nvidia 750 Ti which can bang out 300 kh/s at around 50W undervolted.  What will be next?
