What was the most successful "Build in Public" altcoin or crypto project?

In general I guess Bitcoin (and early forks such as Litecoin, Dodgecoin or Bitcoin Cash) can be the things I'm looking for. Maybe Ethereum is also counting as one. But I am looking for pretty much every legit project which was built in public. New chain, smart contract platform, NFT project, token, tool, etc.
Curious to know.

I'm not sure how exactly you define "Build in Public," but there are literally thousands upon thousands of projects that are completely open source and have public commits. It's not that complicated to figure out which of them are the "most successful."

Toly on Solana is super active on socials and he ha been very vocal about all things solana. Vitalik on the other hand doesn't engage much but whenever he does, he often shares his thoughts about where ethereum is now and where it's heading to. I like hyperLiquid but I think Jeff and his team falls short in that regard.

What do you mean "build in public"? Like open source code or what? Or do you mean "fair launch" coins or tokens, that are either mineable or claimable without presale, like ico or something like that?

Most of them are open source so in my eyes, they are all build in public. Legitimacy of them however is in the eye of beholder, because that's just an adjective, and personally i wouldn't give that description to something like Bitcoin Cash or Dogecoin.

Well Build in Public is not necessarily open source. Although software/crypto projects using this term are mostly open source. I can say what levels.io (Pieter Levels) does is building in public. He's not making his projects open source but he posts the prgress on X.

Second, BNB is awesome. I tried to deploy a project on TRX mainnet and it was like $150 USD to deploy and to my knowledge TRX is not as popular as the past. I did a little bit of research and found that I can deploy the same project on BNB for like $5 or on BASE for $1.
This makes projects more and more worthy of trying.

Then good luck with your development. We've got a lot of projects and tokens already but if what you're trying to build in future is going to be a disruptor to what we currently have, your shot is at a very low chance. Well, I haven't got any car like the two but hopefully when bitcoin pops a lot, I'll save for one if I can afford it with my holdings.

I think one of the succesful one is the hyperliquid dex. Its one of the best moving project right now with a huge marketcap and plenty of users. The target of that project are traders or future traders from cex which become a good narrative incorporating a noncustodial approach and I can see many had imitate this. Up to this date, Ive seen how it grows. They dont have backup funding but only came from developers pocket and grow it well.

Another one is kaito social platform. This is a lot unexpected, from a mere minting of nft and become a huge social base platform for influencers and creators. Up to now they are still improving and lots of CT supported the way their doing their business.
