Government Adeleke Issues Fresh Warning Over Planned Terrorist Attack In Osun.

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has urged residents to remain vigilant and immediately report suspicious persons, movements and activities in their communities following an alleged plan by terrorists to attack parts of the state.

The governor’s warning came after the Department of State Services (DSS) reportedly alerted Muslim and Christian leaders in Osun to a possible terrorist threat targeting places of worship and other locations where large numbers of people gather.

Adeleke, in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Sunday in Osogbo, said residents must not ignore unusual developments around them.

The level of insecurity in Nigeria is indeed very high across the various states in the country, and the government has all it takes to fight this insecurity, and with collaborative effort, and proper alliance between the government and the citizens peace can be restored.
Many times we see insecurity prevailing in our various environments, it is because the leaders are not in alliance with the citizens maybe do to political interest, but I commend the Osun state governor Adeleke for his immense concern about the safety of his state, and the citizens, and forming an alliance with them, and I think this will also motivate other governor's of the country Nigeria for them to ensure peace in their various states, and in Nigeria at large.

All this warnings are meaningless. If they know when it is going to happen and where, why can't they just keep quiet about it and deal with the threat. What sought of nonsense is this. All pretending like they care, alarming citizens and deep down, they don't give a rat ass what happens except themselves. What do they now expect us to do. It's not by commendeding the governor for the his concerns about the safety of citizens of the state, the question should be what security measures has he taken to make sure they repel such attack if it wants to take place. I just read that one of his close Associates was shot dead, though from the news, it was gathered that the assassination resulted from a leadership tussle of the motor park. But I still think that the assassination was part of the terrorist attacks. Osun State has been in the news lately, after the re-election of governor Adeleke. He should be careful and maintain peace and order in the State if he actually cares for the people of Osun State.

Why not equip the local vigilantes of each of those neighbouring communities with weapons that will make them fit to attack those terrorists secretly when they attack? Because the security reports which the Department of States Security Service just published about the proposed Osun State attack have always been a regular routine before a major attack. And lack of precautionary measures have always been our biggest challenges, such as equipping the military and other security personnel with the right weapons and placing them at strategic locations would have gone a long way in helping our military fight these terrorists to the fullest. And secondly, I seems not to understand the duty of the airforce anymore, because If both ground and air troops were to mobilize each time they are going to fight these terrorists, their numbers would have drastically reduced.

All that these yeye politicians know how to do is to rant on the media to issue useless warnings instead of taking real and tangible actions to stop these bad guys. The fruitless announcement by the number one man of a state just shows how hopeless all these so called governors are when it comes down to mobilizing an actual defensive and preventive strategy. You have firsthand knowledge of a security threat that might affect the citizens of your state and your first reaction is to tell the poor and helpless citizens to be extra vigilant and question unfamiliar visitors. They just love to make noise on TV stations and other media outlets so they can look proactive but when it come to mobilizing real defensive measures to tackle the issue treat you will not see them anywhere, bunch of useless leaders.
