accounts of this forum are being impersonated in altcoinstalks

If i see more users I will add them here. There are probably more abuse

Ive seen this User had the same username of a prominent forum member here but without a teleported tagged but its not active anymore. Also checked the post history and the last posts was used in some giveaways.

The user stats also shown been active on Nigeria Local section, but Im pretty know that the user with that username here came from our local Philippines. So clearly a different user from the one there on ALTT. Though the altcoinstalk account isnt active anymore. If @Darker45 decided to teleport his account on the alt forum. What will happened on the nigerian account? Will it be deleted?

Thanks for the mention, although I don't think I'm a prominent member here. In which case, I'm not at all bothered by having somebody else sharing the same username as mine on a separate platform, inactive at that.

To my mind, that's not even necessarily impersonation. Sans proof of any intention to take advantage of anything by pretending that he/she's the same user on this forum, that could even be brushed off as simple coincidence, as it's highly likely the same username also exists in other platforms.

Problems only exist if people use those nicknames to impersonate anyone else. If there is nothing like that, I see no problem.

Prohibit anyone to use a specific nickname is unfair, and you can imagine as well as expand to a bigger scale like there are many forums, not only Bitcointalk.org or altcoinstalks.com. Don't only limit to these two forums and think like if two members in two forums have a same username, person behind those accounts is one person, or one account is an impersonating.

Well, I have explained myself in that post already. But allow me to repeat myself.
If it's like a common name, I don't see any problem. This is one of the reasons people use a nickname/username for their online presence. If you search on the internet, you probably won't find many accounts if you search with the username LoyceV, theymos, or bitmover, etc. It's because these are not real names like John Doe.

I think Altcoinstalks is now very close to the Bitcointalk community. It happened after the mixer ban. All the mixers moved to Altcoinstalks, and the campaign managers moved the campaigns there. The forum members joined there as well. It's not like those people never knew that usernames like GazetaBitcoin exist. Even if it is not forbidden to copy someone else's username, it's not legit either. I consider this shady as fuck.

No problem men, I just noticed it there when I am lurking on some sections and so happened to aware that I know your username and checked this thread here. Actually I agreed with you and some here that situations like our username being used is out of control and we cant prevent them from doing that. Its just pose bad looks when someone who uses your username/alike being used for bad stuff on other forum. I assumed this kind of cases happened too on other forums besides these two.

@BlackHatCoiner @GazetaBitcoin,  I suggest you take a look and teleport your account (so nobody willbe able to use your name there again)

If BlackHatCoiner and GazetaBitcoin were not the ones behind those accounts in altcoinstalks and they don't want to create account there and don't want to teleport. They can make comments here so people will know that they are not the ones behind the accounts. Because I don't really believe that they are the ones own those accounts. There is no way these users create accounts there and will not discuss with others and only interested to participate in raffles.

And if they are not the ones, then newbies from here or someone that knows them from here created those accounts there. Though they are two different forum but their input here can save a lot of doubts. And anything happens to those accounts there will not affect their reputation here. They don't need to teleport but their input here means a lot. It can be yes or no. Yes we are the ones or no we are not the ones behind those usernames there.

There is no way these users create accounts there and will not discuss with others and only interested to participate in raffles.

Of course, those two accounts are not theirs. Both of them look like alt accounts operated specifically to participate in that event. Unfortunately, they used account names that I think were deliberately made the same as the original users here.

I see that both accounts are currently under review. Is the forum admin reviewing those accounts for a ban or some other action?

It will be better to notify the admin of altcointalk to tags both accounts if really they're impersonators....

He already did, and from what the "president" of altcoinstalks said, both of the account has been banned. You can check "Freemind's" response to the thread on altcoinstalks to verify.

I guess now it is appropriate to say: "Thank you Mr. President."

I wonder what would happen if the "president" didn't ban these accounts. He didn't have to. That would create some fun for the scammers. I don't remember if I teleported my own account to altcoinstalk. I think I haven't done that and I don't have to.

For visibility reason where everyone can see it whenever you post and some see you on a comment or a thread, I recommend "personal text row. If it is in Location row, it is only when someone views your profile that he or she will see it. But if what is in the  "Personal Text" space is important, location is still okay. But my concern was the visibility to everyone whenever you are posting.

And I think all the reputable members should follow suit as you have done if they are not going to altcoinstalks to avoid impersonation. And if it found in the other forum, we will know that the users are not the same.

If I remember correctly every account that teleported from bitcointalk to altcoinstalks forum needs to have teleported badge in their profile, and admin has to approve it.
Someone surely tried to trick the system but they will got banned sooner or later by admin.

The president of altcointalk doesn't want anything that will destroy the reputation of altcointalk, that's why he acted very quick to do the right thing....Scammers just needs a small opportunity to execute their objective...now they're been caught with this strategy, and actions have taken immediately by the president...this action by the president will scare most of them away who have the intension to impersonates a user from BTT
