the FutureBit team today unveiled HashFly, an experimental Bitcoin miner based on a reconstructed fruit fly brain that uses 2,914 real neural connections to perform SHA-256!
if scaled up using real organic neurons, the system could theoretically hash at about 1 w/th, which is roughly 10 times more energy-efficient than leading 3-nm silicon asics!!!
for now, it’s an experiment. but biologically inspired Bitcoin mining is officially a reality: https://x.com/FutureBit/status/2099241052997570816

at the following link, you can marvel at its speed and all its 'life': https://dream-xenon-aurora-mint.grok.me/

for now, it’s an experiment.

And i expect it'll remain as experiment, research or theory for long time.
