I've recently started browsing live casino games, the ones with a live dealer, and I've observed something interesting... Some of them keep their chat permanently closed. Even if you gamble there, you can't comment. Not after gambling any amount, never. The host just keeps talking, they may see your name and your bets and your wins and try to interact, but you can't respond back at all.
What's the point of having the game live then? I'll never understand why a casino would do this.
Live casino games are not games run by the casino platform itself, they are rented from game providers. You may have played games from a provider where the chat box is closed. Chatting while playing live games is a different kind of fun where you are not only talking to the dealer but also with the other players at the table. However, some providers are probably afraid of this conversation where players can have conversations and a player can change their decision and win where he could have lost. I don't know if they think about it that way, this is just my personal opinion.

Maybe it is closed to avoid inappropriate comments, users do that all the time and they even use this template to create content for social media and there are millions of people watching them. So some casinos don't appreciate that and closed it for now and some might only allow the players to participate on higher levels.
We are all making excuses for this casinos. I believe that the casino have chat features that can filter out inappropriate comments, including spams. These should be employed instead of locking the chats. The casinos that do this have no excuse to give for not giving gamblers the opportunity to interact with the dealers, whatever reason they have for locking chats can be sorted out through different options aside the particular option they choose. Truly, a live casino game that does not allow the gamblers to interact with the dealers is usually boring; it is nothing compared to the games where interaction is allowed.

Some of the casinos chat group can only be entered by those that meet certain requirements of wagering amount, I still remember on stake that you must have such collaboration of wagered amount to comment in the chat, I have not use any casino chat group actively and for that is because I have low wagering accumulation all together, but live casino own case may be slightly different from the general chat group on the casino.

Hmm... interesting. I'm not a big fan of live dealer games (because of the higher house edge generally), so I'm not sure. But one reason could be because gamblers are one of the most toxic communities (sorry guys xd) and they might lash out at the dealer and make some sexist or abusive comments that nobody wants to read. Years back, I used to watch Eddie streams and he would ask his viewers if they could make the host of a particular live dealer game do push-ups, twerk, etc he would double their bonus drops. People would then enter that game and spam the shit out of that dealer to make him do the same. During these times, I realized how difficult it must be for the host because people would say weird things and hurl abuse towards them.

I don't really think any service on the internet needs a very good reason to close down a chat. Sure, it could have been due to some sort of cheating or harassment, but that is what happens in internet chats. I wouldn't blame any service for shutting down a chat for any reason. I myself used to manage a forum 20+ years ago and ultimately shut it down because the moderation became too much of a time suck, so I can relate to the no longer wanting to deal with it when one apple ruins the bunch.

I think this was because of some gamblers doing some kind of inappropriate chats, like they were flirting or something. I mean, that could maybe become some kind of harassment, so maybe the casino decided to close chats. Since they were just gambling most of the time it the dealer was a woman, this happened a lot for sure. The important thing was the bet anyway so for sure gamblers are going to continue gambling even if there was no chats or something. But I might prefer it to have a some kind of chat just to spice up the game and not make it boring, it just way more entertaining if you are interacting as well, and they are talking to you on screen, plus if you have some kind of questions as well you could just ask it easily on the chat, or chat the other gamblers as well.

There are a few reasons why live casino keep their chats close and one of the most important reason is to protect dealers from abusive players. some people may consider this as a strange thing but casino authority don't need give extra effort to moderate and replying thousands of players chat. Even thus people can focus on game, not on the chats. Although it won't be bad if casino could allow players to use chats feature to talk with each other with having strict rules to block players for abusive behaviour and repeated offenders. I think allowing such safe chat would make the casino experience more real and more social for players.

Live casino games are usually run simultaneously by game providers in different casinos and there the feelings of the gamblers and some information about that game are available in the chat box, especially how much was the winning amount there that day, etc. But if such a chat box is turned off in the management of a particular game, then those who use the chat box will definitely find a question there. While playing live casinos, I have noticed well that if there are negative comments about that game or someone replies negatively, then in many cases the username of that user is restricted. But others can continue their live chat. Live chat is not turned off. If live chat is turned off all the time in the game, then probably the game providers can turn it off. It may also be that the dealer is not able to help everyone there. If there is any problem, then there is no need to keep the live chat option and if it is necessary, then it is better to keep the feature on all the time.

I think the casinos have the right to keep the chat closed or open whenever they like, it is their way of regulating it. There are cases of gamblers that got defrauded other other gamblers through the comment section or chat, when playing some casino games that have room for gamblers to interact you'd come across some people coming to give ideas to others about how they can give them signals or they also ask gamblers that are still newbies for their login details so they can play certain games for them to make profits but they end up getting scammed, these are things some casinos try to avoid.

They have every right to keep the chat open or closed, I don't think that should be a problem to any gambler, for someone like me I really don't care about those things, what I'm interested in a casino is to gamble and when I win I withdraw my money, if I have any problem with the casino what I will do is to contact the customer care and when I contact them I believe my issue will be solved, except I contact them aaand they refuse to give me a very good answer and I notice it is leading to scam then I can go online to report the case and warn gamblers about the casino.

As far as I know these live casinos are basically rented. That is the casino company rents from another provider in exchange for subscription or shares, So if that provider wants to turn off the chat option of a live casino, then in that case the casino company has nothing to do. You can try other live games. But the reason I think here, sometimes there may be trouble or distraction between players due to chat, so it can be turned off. However I would say it is more logical to keep the chat option open, because this way the live dealer's questions can be answered. Which increases the joy of the game. And it feels like I am sitting and playing in a physical casino.

But if you look at it this way, even as it is live, it does not mean you need to interact. For example you are watching match live, do you interact with this commentators? Obviously no. So if you look at it like that, I see no reason why you would question them on this matter. Live just shows how the game is. Everybody can see the same game together. If the chats is even opened, there are some people who will misuse that opportunity. They will start dropping their spam messages and the rest.
Yeah, you are right on this, if op wants a live chatting experience, he should visit other casino that have a section for live chatting with other users who are also vibing with their own betting experience, I think bustabit has the option, I can't remember for sure. Also OP should ask the question why the live casino chat options are not enabled by gamblers to participate, the answer will go a long way.

Well, I guess it depends on the kind of game, there are some games that could lead to a messy experience when they let the chat opened , so it's just better they annouce what is necessary to make it somewhat close to lively even if not completely how people want it .
They an also have other undisclosed reasons. There should be other live games on such Casino that allows live chat unless the Casino itself doesn't allow such itself.

I also felt that another reason could be for the purpose of privacy, not everyone likes to receive anonymous messages from strangers, and that’s literally why some people chose to use the online casino, rather than finding their way to an offline casino. Some people just like to play their game peacefully and not get interrupted by comments from their opponents. I don’t know, but I think that could be a very good reason for the casinos to do that.
If a player is feeling irritated by others' comments or based on the kind of words they use in their communication, they can easily pull the chat down and only focus on their game without viewing how the conversation is going, but there should be an option for everyone to make a choice if they want to interact with other players or not, and it should not be a default disabling of the chat option like some casinos do.

Yes, it's probably due to moderation issues and there's no way to stop or moderate it anymore but to wholly closed down the chat. When it gets too toxic and a lot of players are spamming all over it, the genuine conversations are being covered by it on top of that and that's why if they have to stop it, they'll have to do it in the expense of the genuine interactions there even if they will feel bad about it.

I don't even see any point of keeping the chat open on a live game because the interactions are not really meaningful, it always gamblers complaining about the game they staked on that's going sideways, nothing important, some even troll other gamblers In the chats. In some casinos they don't leave it open at because of all these. Watching the game live should be enough, the only interaction should be between the gamblers and customer support if there is any need for it. Most people really abuse this opportunity that's given to them.

Most times the real fun can come from the chat room; we have some players who are very familiar with themselves and, at that, share some game information via the chat and give themselves tips along the way. The privacy thing may not be very accurate, as most chat groups have guidelines, and you can be known by just the username in the chat and not be related to your real identity or account in the casino.

I haven't experienced yet the casino itself or the dealer close the chats but I just experienced is the casino have a requirement like a number of bets require before you can unlock the feature of having an access with the community chat and the table chat but personally I do rarely makes a chat when it comes to the live games because I just wanted to play all by myself unless there are players who wanted to interreact with other players just to get thrilled on the game.

Well, on one hand; the chat function during a live stream can attract players or users, but on the other; it can become a nuisance due to excessive spam or disruptive (unwanted messages). I once saw a stream where a user or player was disrupting the host's concentration during a live casino gambling session. I am not sure if it actually hindered the host in managing or running the game, but surely it was also annoying for the other users or players ? Furthermore, I don't think it would be an issue if the chat feature were disabled, provided the game continues without interruption. In fact, the situation would actually be more conducive to the game; offering a sense of calm without chat messages; that could disrupt concentration for either the users, or the host.

Well, the chat being off doesn’t bother me when I’m playing roulette. I like live gambling not because there’s an illusion of emotional connection, but because I trust this kind of game more than some opaque algorithm which, for example, is what slots are.
Although nowadays AI can be used to fake a video of a live game. But from a profitability standpoint, it doesn’t make sense; it would likely be a waste of money for the casino. I’ve already thought about this before that any kind of cheating is unprofitable for a decent casino, because the mathematics of gambling absolutely guarantees long‑term profits.
