With the creation of Donald Trump's meme coins and all involvement into the crypto space. Has this made the space better or worse?
Did it make the reputation of the entire crypto space more positive or more negative?
As it was something many years ago that people did want governments to get involved in crypto for adoption.

Was this the wrong approach? Wrong type of government to do this?

Explain your thoughts on all this.

It's kinda mixed for me to be honest. I see trump as a pro crypto as he is actively speaking about it and he has support for the clarity act. But I see this as a personal gain thing as trump and his family members are affiliated with many crypto projects and crypto companies so there's actually a motive why he is so pushy about crypto.

There are also not so good things like trump made his own meme coin, his family member even have their too! which made a lot of people lose their money. Trump also made the global economy ruffle with his wars and tariffs which also affected crypto big time.

The bottomline is he is pushy crypto for long term, but this is also for his personal gain. So I can't say that he is on a good faith being publicly promoting cryptocurrency.

I'm not sure people ever wanted the government to get involved in Cryptocurrency
I for one wasn't thrilled but knew it was inevitable with the rate Bitcoin has grew.

First time we were quite in the limelight
So not much data to compare with to know if it's relatively better or worse
I'm leaning towards it could be worse
Seen some countries actions towards Cryptocurrency and it's not looking good for its future in that country.

Just think about it. Is the emergence of that shitcoin a good thing or is it making things worse?

From the start his involvement in the crypto space was only for his own benefit. Just look at how much profit he got from the crypto space. From his shitcoin royalties alone, he made US$635 million. That's just one thing; we haven't even talked about WLF, his personal crypto assets, his family's, etc.

You could say he made hundreds of millions of dollars without much effort.

Well... the reality is that it has managed to generate significant institutional and banking momentum. However, whether this should be viewed as positive or negative depends on one's perspective, given that decentralization and anonymity are affected by the existing regulatory framework; a framework the system itself has helped bring about. That is just one point worth noting, though it is the one that stands out most to me.

Based on my perspective, President Trump's did is a combination of positive and negative outcomes. On the bettr side, his intention has solidified the mainstream acceptance of Bitcoin and the government's approach to incorporating Bitcoin as a strategic reserve. Additionally, more influencers, celebrities, and political figures can now confidently publicly say they invested in BTC.

On the worse, he is an opportunist. After winning over the support of crypto enthusiasts, he creates a shitcoin to bag a billion dollars for himself, and he purposely creates conflict to manipulate the market.

As it was something many years ago that people did want governments to get involved in crypto for adoption.
Bitcoin is Decentralized that was never pegged on any individual to neither was the adoption of Bitcoin expected to be influenced by any authority.
And before the launch of the $TRUMP in January 17 2025, Trump had shown so much interest in Bitcoin and crypto at large during his second term election campaign and Trump himself had also made some promises of how he will support the financial technology including making the United States a crypto capital, creates Strategic Bitcoin reserve for the US and so on.

During his inauguration as the US President, Bitcoin market also rised to an impressive bullish which Speculation claimed that it was influenced by the Trump but it was still in doubt because, there had also been other times Bitcoin gains the supports to pump price. And same year 2025, the Bitcoin market met its peak of bullishness which outcomed to the $126K ATH with claims again that it was influenced by Trump but meanwhile, tracing the historical market performance, the bullish event was as a result of the 4 years cycle.

The government had also oversight the possessions of the financial system and decided to partake with institutions also being involved regardless that the monetary system is Decentralized but interested at its fact of being potential asset.

You can oversimplify it to simply say it has been good or it has been bad. For institutional investors and crypto related services, it has been good because the regulatory bodies have reduced the grip they had around their throats. When you look at cryptocurrencies, I think it has been bad because his inconsistencies and irrational behavior have affected the market negatively. The trade war, the war against Iran that were tottally unneassary and avoidable, really affected the whole financial market negatively and that also hindered crypto. But for now, Bitcoin and other coins are starting to pick up again. If he doesn't come up with another thing soon, then we might enjoy an upward trend.

Not to make the whole crypto negative, but I'm not happy that the government made shitcoin just for its own profit like the Trump family did, they just took advantage of the moment when they were still US President.

Early election we are glad Trump continues to talk about bitcoin, will adopt and the US will become the heart of the crypto center of his reality is not so, but when the US devises for the use of Bitcoin reserves strategy it can make a positive again.

So I do not like what Trump is doing to his own tokens, all already know his word billions of dollars of their profits into personal pockets.

I would say that his administration and most of his speech on the argument have been able to change the narrative about bitcoin.
If you consider that total demonization that has taken part in some economic areas/countries, I would not classify his endorsement as "negative".
Finally has been introduced to main stream agenda, and even the average joe has been able to read about it.
Crypto industry hasn't changed for him. It has already been an industry with many good examples but also with some of the worst from our society.

Donald Trump appeared to be a big plus for cryptocurrency especially during the campaigns as he made big promises that were too good to be true. But after winning the elections and showing his true hands, I can only say that he rode on the trend of cryptocurrency,  told the crypto community what they want to hear to get their votes and ended up betraying everyone. As if that was not enough, him and his family ripped off a lot of people through those shitcoins they launched in their names ... what a disaster he represent for Bitcoin and cryptocurrency!

I was thinking that he term in office will bring an end to the fight against privacy, aid the adoption of Bitcoin into mainstream and unlock the potential and power of cryptocurrency in general but that is not what is happening

He might have made little efforts such as the ban of Central Bank Digital Currrencies which was perceived as a plus for privacy and user autonomy but this is not enough.

These ideas are so effective and  full of  knowledge  institutional adoption and banking momentum is very crucial for liquidity but its biggest price has to pay the decentralization basically we are trading off fundamental privacy in exchange for market efficiency .

What do you think if institutional capital will come in future is it retain the status of Bitcoin as a sovereign store of value???

In your opinion when mega-corporations and banks hold heavy supplies then protocol level will not became the threat on governance???

With the creation of Donald Trump's meme coins and all involvement into the crypto space. Has this made the space better or worse?

Does Trump coin's chart looks like good or bad to you?. If it looks bad to you, then Trump only makes it worsen for crypto.

Did it make the reputation of the entire crypto space more positive or more negative?
Trump being known as one of biggest grifter in the world of crypto. He stolen billions from innocent people who think his token was legit. So it did destroy the reputation of the crypto especially for those who aware with the existence of trump's meme.

As it was something many years ago that people did want governments to get involved in crypto for adoption.
They only wanted about the clarity and regulation framework. They never wanted the big people in the government is just sucking and robbing their money.

Was this the wrong approach? Wrong type of government to do this?

Explain your thoughts on all this.
It's obviously wrong approach. There's no need to issue a meme purposedly for scamming purpose. It only hindered his reputation, though he's POTUS. Just regulate the thing that needs to be regulated, then act wisely without fooling others.
All his efforts to support crypto being destroed in one night with his scam meme.

He didn't help crypto rather it was the other way round. Nobody asked him to help crypto, he was the one that wanted winning the presidential race and was going from one crusade to another making alot of promises and as usual, some industry giants gave him the platform which made everyone think that we are changing the perspective of crypto but instead what do we have have? We got husband and wife meme coin that are dead now.

If not that these politicians have no regards for people here anymore, I don't think Biden son would launch another meme coins again and as usual, blame games is what we got after many people peldge all their life's savings on them. The worst about this is that another politician is going to repeat the same thing by launching another meme coin and nothing will be done about it.
