The bottomline is he is pushy crypto for long term, but this is also for his personal gain. So I can't say that he is on a good faith being publicly promoting cryptocurrency.

That's Trump's trademark: whatever he promotes, he makes sure that he also benefits; it's unacceptable for him if the whole community benefits and he only gets appreciation. He will make sure the businessman in him plays a role in this industry, and that's what happened with his meme coins and his family's other cryptocurrency projects.

But, perhaps the larger idea is to distinguish Bitcoin from the broader crypto sector. While the involvement of government can add more legitimacy and institutional interest to Bitcoin.
That does not necessarily mean that all government related crypto initiatives are helpful. The Strategic Bitcoin Reserve is one such example where Bitcoin is more of an asset with a strategic value rather than just another speculative currency. The focus on Trump-related meme coins has also caused the industry's more speculative aspects to come to the fore. I don't believe that good and bad Government is a foregone conclusion. But it's perhaps more important to ask that it actually result in actual adoption and valuable infrastructure. Rather than more hype and speculation.

What we expected when Trump taking office is lower interest rate, good regulation, overall a win for crypto community and what we're getting are WLFI, $TRUMP, and $MELANIA with lawsuit as cherry on top.
The regulation also always about allowing wall street to expand into crypto, never about the crypto community itself, nothing really improving and we're also getting higher interest rate recently which could stunt bitcoin's organic price recovery. The crypto community isn't really winning under his administration.
