Could AI agents use Bitcoin/Lightning for autonomous micropayments?

I’ve been thinking about the intersection of AI agents and Bitcoin/Lightning, especially the idea of AI agents being able to make small autonomous payments for APIs, data, compute, or other services.

With Python and the current AI ecosystem, it seems technically possible to build agents that can discover a service, pay a small amount in sats, use it, and continue working without human intervention.

I’m wondering whether this could become a real business opportunity—for example, pay-per-use APIs or specialized services that AI agents can access through Lightning.

Has anyone here experimented with AI agents making Bitcoin/Lightning payments, or seen interesting projects in this area?
