They were (and still are) using third-party services for exchanges and were never in possession of your funds as they were just a bridge to link the trader to the exchange. GhostSwap are powerless to intervene in the event an exchange decides to block a trade.

As far as the no KYC claim is concerned, it was wrong of GhostSwap to have stated that. If they are still promoting themselves as "No KYC, No account, No email and anonymous" then that is clearly a false claim as their liquidity partners could freeze swaps at any time and enforce KYC. I have visited their website, they are claiming:

"What is an anonymous crypto exchange? An anonymous crypto exchange lets you swap one coin for another without creating an account or handing over personal details. On GhostSwap you choose two coins, paste the address that should receive the coins and send the deposit. There is no sign-up and no email, and the swapped coins arrive in your own wallet."

Not only that, they are claiming that "you" hold your funds. There is no mention of a third-party or liquidity partner on their home page. If this is how they operate, I would have expected more victims to have come forward.

But here is my question. How does this fit with what is written on their website right now? (screenshot 2). They still advertise themselves as "Anonymous No KYC Crypto Exchange" and "NO KYC · NO ACCOUNT · NO EMAIL".

So they can demand KYC whenever they want, but they keep advertising that they don't. This is misleading.
Yeah, I wrote to them today saying, “Let me go through the verification process if necessary,” and they replied right away.

After reading through this entire story, I still have two questions.

1. If verification was already a requirement for unfreezing the funds back in September, why didn't GhostSwap have a clear procedure in place for completing it by November?

2. Were any steps taken to resolve the issue between May and September 9? Why was verification only offered 3.5 months after the ETH was frozen?

The GS website had “No KYC” written in large letters. I don’t know why they posted that slogan, but it had a big impact on my decision to use their exchange services; if that slogan hadn’t been there, I would have tried to find another exchange.
I’ve wanted to avoid KYC for a long time, but as you can see, I wasn’t able to, and I’m sure that after going through KYC, I most likely won’t get my funds back.

I’m desperate
