I'm getting 11.5% interest on my FDR right now , within 6-7 years my investment will be 100% in profit if I do not cashout.
I'm getting a 10.5% Interest on my DPS , Which I save money in monthly basis. Interest rate drops and increases however it's always around 10% .

So according to this situation which one would be better? I wants some actuall numbers not promises.

That’s a guaranteed 10% profit per year which is already huge less risk investment especially if there’s no capped on the amount you will invest then I will definitely choose that for the majority of my savings than risk on the x2 or x3 of Bitcoin that can also give you the risk of wiping out 50% of your investment more or less assuming you will need the money on the bad market.

I say just put on Bitcoin the amount you are willing to lose like part of your salary then focus most of your money invested on less risky which 10% interest rate is already good. I will take that offer if my bank gave it but it’s too bad interest here just darn low so I invest most of my money invested Bitcoin especially that inflation hits hard on PHP.  Cheesy

Bank interest rates are different and depend on each country. The interest rate OP mentioned may look pretty attractive to you or people from countries with lower inflation, but it may not be that attractive if inflation there is also high. So we can't really say it's a good return without knowing the inflation rate first.

Bitcoin is definitely risky, and the return is not guaranteed. But I think risks like it disappearing or going to zero, like in the early days, aren't really the case anymore. As long as you have a good plan and strategy, you got a pretty good chance of making profit in the long run.

So invest the money you can afford to leave aside and spread it properly. Don't worry too much about putting a large amount into Bitcoin.

You might be celebrating the profit you made if you safe in fait and the course of your celebration would be the figure you are seeing, but when you actually compare that profit, the years you have waited and then how far inflation has increased, you will observe that that Fiat profit didn't actually make much sense, and it's even become of protection against inflation that makes most people chose Bitcoin as a safe heaven, because by the time you hold Bitcoin for 4-8 years, you are sure to make a heavy profit that actually protected your capital from inflation and still give you a significant profit. Imagine someone invested $300 and got a profit of 500% on that capital after 17 years, that is very poor, but if you invested such amount on Bitcoin 11 years ago, you will be happy with the returns.

Bitcoin is a 2 combo profit for such an investment. The protection against inflation and then again, the increase in value.

Many will always choose Bitcoin unless for thr fact that you are not ready to hold for long. But since it investment, and is ready to keep it for a whole long years, Holding for uo to 2-3-4 circles, then Bitcoin is the best. Am sure that before the expiration of your target years of savings, it must have passed through a bull run season and created a new ATH market price. Though we cannot ascertain the actual price that will be your gains, or predict how it will go because of volatility, but HODLing for that longs proves a point, and that is the fact that Bitcoin will do better numbers.

That’s why I said I will take that offer if the interest rate is being offered by my bank.

If you will read the bottom part of my statement. I do cover the inflation rate consideration like what you mentioned. It’s indeed true that inflation is play a big part for considering a fixed passive interest rate on fiat compared to the potential profit/risk on Bitcoin investment.

My comment is purely based on my own situation and preference. My country inflation rate is high while bank interest is low so investing on Bitcoin is easy choice for me.

There is no day you would compare bank to bitcoin investment, in fact what you must understand about bitcoin is that you must have to be patient enough to make sure it yields a better interest for you and you must also choose a better investment plans for instance; you may hold for longer periods of time, such as either 12 years and above to give you a better ROI. But in bank, they could be given you interest on monthly basis but again they still would be the one to collect some fee as a bank maintenance fee from your interest. In bitcoin you would never experience such and only when you would want to make transfer that you would be charged some cent from your transaction.

I don't know why anyone will want to take Bank ROI over Bitcoin investment. If the banks are going to give you a percentage on return, they are definitely getting back more than the yield they are offering. Not like the funds sit in their vault, they also distribute their risk to make more money so they can pay back customers. Now, the bank you afr giving your money is taking risk because of a specific return when you could have done better with Bitcoin.

There is nothing certain now with Bitcoin, it was never and nobody knows but for him to guess the return on what Bitcoin could do is wrong either. If I'm having a funds that I wouldn't touch in 5 years time, not emergency, not for any concern, I'm definitely giving a try with Bitcoin. The least you can worry now is buying at all time and the price is even fair here, the price is not bad from here to go all in.
You are right currently the price of Bitcoin is still favorable where one could accumulate enough and target themselves into long duration of investment without being that panicking at all time when the price slightly dropped or depreciated. Again, I wouldn't even encourage anyone out there to go with bank because they are not transparent enough as Bitcoin, again the number which one has into their account just sit over there but already as we know they had already took their money for lending or doing other business that they felt like the interest would interest more faster for them and at last they are also the one would still deduct those returns from their charges. Realistically, Bitcoin is the only way.

Rather that debating which one is better and waiting, I suggest a more practical approach but it will require time, which many investors who are coming here for advice lack.

Use your fiat to put money into the bank FD and also use it to buy bitcoin of equal amounts in fiat and hold that.

In next few years, you will yourself see what sort of returns both are giving. The only difference is that you have to sell your BTC to realize that profit and for FD you get it directly credited.

I for one, suggest both options depending on your feasibility.

Many times we have analyzed the advantages investing in Bitcoin has over keeping your fund in the bank. If you want to make profit in the money you deposited in the bank, your money has to be in fixed deposit depending on the terms of agreement, and making double of your money in 4 years time is not certain. Comparing money in the bank with Bitcoin, Bitcoin has been one of the fastest growing digital assets in nature, superceding gold, stocks. If you put your money in Bitcoin, within the space of 4 years you can possibly make some of about 3-4 times of your initial investment, and making such profit from bank is very rare.

There have been many debates about which is better, but those who want to make a good profit will know that investing in Bitcoin is better because banks won't give you what Bitcoin will, and the only thing about banks is that they will save your money and use it to make more profit. For this reason, it is better for you to invest in Bitcoin rather than save your money.  And Bitcoin is one of the best assets that anyone can buy no matter your financial status.

And that's one of the reasons it's called a long-term investment: once you start purchasing Bitcoin, you have to hold it for a long time before you can turn a profit. It's crucial for those who haven't invested yet to understand how crucial it is that you hold it for a long time in order to turn a profit.

There are several advantages of saving in Bitcoin over keeping money in the bank, among them is the tool to protect against inflation and another is the huge potential for getting large returns in the long term. Those who keep money in the conventional banking system lose their value along with inflation, so the profit they make over the savings after a long time is not a significant profit. In addition, if you deposit money in the bank, there are government taxes and banking institution fees, which reduce the amount of return.

If you believe in Bitcoin for the long term, especially if you can hold it for more than one cycle, then several times the return is possible. Moreover, Bitcoin also works as a hedge to protect against inflation. The returns of those who have held it in Bitcoin for the past few years have also been much higher than those of conventional banks. Another important thing is that if the bank goes bankrupt for any reason, the customer will also be affected. Therefore, it is better to keep your money with yourself than to lose it by keeping your money with others, and in this case, holding Bitcoin is the safest medium.

I'm getting 11.5% interest on my FDR right now , within 6-7 years my investment will be 100% in profit if I do not cashout.
I'm getting a 10.5% Interest on my DPS , Which I save money in monthly basis. Interest rate drops and increases however it's always around 10% .

So if I invested on BTC I would likely get a 2x - 3x on next bull season. If I count it as 4 year cycle then to make next leg up I would need 4 whole years sitting my fund.

But If I approch this way , depositing my interest from DPS on BTC won't be bad. Making free money from free money.

So according to this situation which one would be better? I wants some actuall numbers not promises.

What's the actual inflation rate in your country? If the inflation rate is higher than the certificate of deposit rate, you're making a loss, not a profit.🙋

The profit you'll make from investing in Bitcoin, in my opinion, is very difficult to calculate. Those who bought Bitcoin in 2021 at $69,000 made only a 2x profit in 2025. This is, of course, very little.

However, those who bought Bitcoin at $15,000 in 2022 and sold it at $125,000 in 2025 made an 8x profit. That's much better. 🧖

We don't know what the price of Bitcoin will be in 2028.  If the price of Bitcoin were to reach, for example, $500,000, you would regret investing in a certificate of deposit.

I will prefer Bitcoin over fiat. Why ? I have many reasons for choosing Bitcoin over fiat aka Bank.
Forget about the interest rates you will know if you truly made profit after they must have collected all the charges including their own fee and give you your profit that is when you can conveniently tell your experience with bank savings or investments but Bitcoin doesn't entertain third parties except you want to go for it but sole custody highly recommended.
You can invest without any third-party, long term short term is okay, you decide when to take profit. No third party fees and charges as long as your assets are under your supervision. Your investment privacy is guaranteed. So you can now see the big difference, it is left for you to decide.

Bitcoin is the best option for anyone who want to hold for long periods of time, for an individual to know what he has achieved with his money, the best thing is to invest in bitcoin, keeping your fiat in the bank is a waste of time for me, even though fiat has been the most valuable currency in our lives, but anyone who wants to achieve a good return in the future should go for bitcoin, bitcoin doesn't get control like the way banks control the customers money or charges them every months for monthly fees even without not doing any transactions.

Bank saving is always different from investing in bitcoin because banks continue to do business as usual, whereas investing in bitcoin allows you to build for yourself in the future. If someone asks me if it's better to keep his money in fiat in the bank or invest it in bitcoin, my answer is always to invest in bitcoin if he intends to hold it for the next 5 years, because that is the best option that will help.

Investing in Bitcoin is the best option that can help at the moment. The currency devaluation, economic inflation and others have crippled the rate at which fiat  function in the society. The bank's too do business with the bigger percentage of profit belonging to them all in the name of fee's charges tax and all of that just to keep your money to themselves but Bitcoin doesn't entertain such, it entails all around sole ownership and discretion. You control your assets, you are not charged monthly, weekly fees as usual, no SMS charges. You only watch your assets grow in value and do whatever you want to do with it.

I mean, the FDR and DPS were just one of the highest interest rates for sure, probably a low-risk savings or investment where you could put your money. Personally, I would say that it was pretty reasonable, and it was just something that might be a no-brainer for somebody not to take that, especially if they actually wanted to build savings or retirement funds.

Compound interest is a huge thing when it comes to this kind of investment, so it's not like it was going to a waste, the interest is going to compound increasing it's interest as well, so if your are going to ask me about it I would not take out the interest on that and put it on Bitcoin, For me this is just the savings that is worth keeping, so probably I would keep it, maybe other unimportant funds is something that I would put and risk on Bitcoin. Technically for sure Bitcoin has higher upside potential compared to this funds since Bitcoin is a risk asset this is more like high risk and high reward thing, but it wasn't worth it to risk it all in my opinion so just need it seperate, I would say that it is better to keep higher savings that higher Bitcoin since risk is always a thing, so putting a lot on Bitcoin could make your finances unstable.

That free money which continuously making more money is the ideal strategy IMO. You do other things that you like whether it's work, business and other trades that you do while not paying attention to that free money that's working for itself. It's real passive income, isn't it? But you know what's the ideal for yourself and this isn't a financial advice. You have the plan already and what you have to do is to simply do and apply it for yourself to see on how it will be maybe a year or two. If you're still confused and which one suits you, why not diversify it into all of those you have mentioned?

The profit you'll make from investing in Bitcoin, in my opinion, is very difficult to calculate. Those who bought Bitcoin in 2021 at $69,000 made only a 2x profit in 2025. This is, of course, very little.

However, those who bought Bitcoin at $15,000 in 2022 and sold it at $125,000 in 2025 made an 8x profit. That's much better. 🧖

The profit from Bitcoin investment depends on capital, timing, entry price and selling price...so we can't calculate it exactly, but we can still estimate it.

If OP buys at the current price around $80k and Bitcoin reaches $500k in the next bull market, that's around 6.25x profit. If Bitcoin reaches $160k or $200k, then its 2x and 2.5x respectively. We don't know the exact result, but we can still estimate the profit based on different price levels.

We don't know what the price of Bitcoin will be in 2028.  If the price of Bitcoin were to reach, for example, $500,000, you would regret investing in a certificate of deposit.

Even if Bitcoin only reaches $200k, that's still a pretty good return compared to putting your money in a bank.

Bitcoin. Yes, Bitcoin.
To get the actual figure, you can use the same calculator you usually do. Simply put, if you calculate over a 4-year period using the amount you invested at a consistent purchase price, you’ll get the profit figure. The actual figure will differ if the purchase price varies each time you buy. It’s possible your calculator is off because the profit from Bitcoin’s price recovery exceeded the predictions made when a new all-time high (ATH) was set.

So if I invested on BTC I would likely get a 2x - 3x on next bull season. If I count it as 4 year cycle then to make next leg up I would need 4 whole years sitting my fund.

And what if you withdraw that money and then put all of it into Bitcoin? Judging by the interest you're getting, I don't think you're coming from a country with low inflation, and with that in mind, if you're so confident that you can get 2x - 3x in the next bull season, it might seem more attractive to put a large portion or all of your money into Bitcoin rather than leaving it all in that fixed-term deposit. All you need to do is wait until it actually reaches the target price you're expecting. But yeah, not everyone can handle Bitcoin's volatility, so it's up to you to decide.

If an investor accumulate Bitcoin regularly for 4 years, is it certain that he will be profitable? I think this period needs to be increased further. You have to save Bitcoin every week and keep this period for 10 years. Only then, maybe an investor can reduce the last average purchase price a lot and remain profitable. I am just talking about fear. But in reality, it can happen that the price of Bitcoin can increase by 2x or 3x or more than the current price after the next 4 years.

Generally when an investor buys Bitcoin, he should continue to accumulate Bitcoin regularly and build up his holdings. It is not possible to predict what level the price of Bitcoin will be after 4 years. If you accumulate Bitcoin regularly and are not profitable after 4 years at the average price, you will have to remain regular for a longer period, maybe as 10 years.

To understand the difference between Bitcoin and the bank, you have to invest in Bitcoin at the same time and you have to keep some money in the bank. After a few years, you will compare the amount of money you have kept in the bank with the profit and inflation during that period to calculate how much your profit and capital have survived. And how much profit you have made by investing in Bitcoin during that specific period. If you try to understand the difference between these two, then you will definitely be able to understand the advantages and disadvantages of banks and Bitcoin very easily.

It's not a good advice because I believe that the first thing to do is not spending money and investing. People must learn about Bitcoin, blockchain, how it works, how transaction confirmed, wallets and how to use wallets from installation, verify (if they can do that technical step), backup, recovery, practice with test net, then fundamentals about Bitcoin supply vs time, why it is better than fiat currencies in inflation & purchasing power over time.

You see, many things people must learn and understand well before actually making their investment.

Two charts can help people understand these opposite purchasing powers over time between fiat currency and Bitcion.

There is no need to try first and we have a lot of evidence that has been done by forum members or even outside there are many who prove that saving money in bitcoin is definitely profitable in the long run, only people who are blindfolded continue to refuse and question "is storing bitcoin profitable than storing it in a bank?" the truth is that it is a very cliche question.

In conclusion, if the money is for daily needs, keeping it in the bank is the right decision, if you want to save it for future savings funds then bitcoin is the best solution, especially buying bitcoin in a bearish market like now is very good.
