Speaking about what we live today in our African countries, I can see a huge increase of drug trafficking and smuggling from neighbor countries outside Africa, or irregular drug factories. What I see in my country today and what I live is very scary when it comes to reality and statistics.

We have seen a new drug known in the nord countries of Africa these last 10 years coming from India as specified by labors and police when they catch smugglers. When I checked other Africa countries I have also noticed the same issue, Addiction of this substance where our young and even older people which is very addictive and dangerous. Some people are taking these substances for years and spending much money on it daily.

Now you may ask about the title why I said Mafia, so let me explain shortly, I am a person who follows always politics and real news instead of what is published. These drugs and substances are easily smuggled in our borders without any difficulties for these Mafias, we have seen videos and real footage where the police are helping them passing through border checkpoints and getting aways with millions of these illegal substances.

If we get real statistics, alone in our country I can swear that 90% of our militants who are passing their military service for at least one year, they are addicted to  Pregabalin. My friend who is inside military school, told me and spoke about his 8 years addiction and how they get this substance freely and easily.

Who is behind all of this: the answer is major Generals, or the highest ranked military officers, they have contacts to allow their smugglers turning much money, buying and selling drugs and spread it all over our countries in Africa.

For them, it’s a huge market and benefit where they allow their children and siblings to live a fancy lifestyle in Europe or top countries, while our youth are struggling.

If I say this publicly inside any African country I would really go to prison, the only place I could share this is here, so please share your opinion

I also think that a lot of top government officials and top military personnel are involved in drug trafficking,  that's why it make it easier for them to move it around. One thing I know about drug dealers is that they are well connected and have a lot of top officials in their payroll, which make it easy for them to do their business. I am not surprised if you believe that top military personnel are involved in the drug trafficking,  because I also believe that it has always been that way. We have a lot of good and honest military personnel, but we also have to understand that they also have the bad once that involve themselves in shady deals like drug trafficking,  so I don't think it's something new.

suspicion runs high in most people.
People judge by what they'd do if in that position. No proof no corruption.

I respect your opinion, but you have said it first; No proof against a specific person means you shouldn’t accuse them, agreed saying this is only suspicion is also wrong.

There are actual thousands documented cases. Starting for example with former head of the Guinea-Bissau Navy who was arrested by the US DEA over international drug trafficking charges [1].

We can find in Morocco, two colonels and 38 members of the Auxiliary Forces that were also investigated over allegedly facilitating international drug trafficking and taking bribes [2].

Moreover, in Algeria the Defence Ministry itself reported hundreds of drug traffickers arrested and huge quantities of cocaine and psychotropic pills seized in 2025 [3].

So for me I can say there are real cases and official records behind these concerns and what I have said earlier. You can disagree with my conclusion but pretending there is no evidence at all is simply false.

If not that selling of drugs is prohibited in most country and most users who takes this substances are abusing it and also been addictive to it i would have say it's a good business to do because it's very lucrative and i also believe that the law on it is the reason why most of these substances are expensive.

Why drugs are been moved easily from one place to another is that most of these people that sells are highly connected with top military personnel and politicians, most politicians also do have hands in drugs trafficking because no body questions them.

Agreed, yes there is corruption, just not everyone in a government is automatically corrupt.
Corruption is part of the political scene worldwide, con exceptions in most continentes.

Since everyone can post under any given name it is easy to accuse, and much more difficult to deliver proof.
There are 54 countries in Africa,  you named 3 cases. That does not say much as surely there are more cases.
People get accused for political reasons. Then they are whitewashed.

I meet a taxi driver who told me a know criminal is friends with the governor, no proof, just repeating what he was told.
A brazen criminal who just tells people he knows the governor. No one checked.

In any society, the military is one of those set of people that are mostly involved in the highest form of crime but because they are the ones that are saddled with the responsibility of checking these areas, they get to carry it out without ever being caught and they do this in collaboration with the government.

The question you should ask is what happens to the drug that often times get confisticated? is it actually burnt and wasted as some of them claim on official news channel. in most African countries, military personnel are grossly underpaid but the most of them will rather stay there for the sake of the side benefit that comes with the job than going out to look for something else. it is almost impossible for you to see a military personnel that is not into drugs, that is how bad it is.

The drug crime is becoming increasingly rampant in almost all countries of the world and it's now finding its way into the interior African societies. Recently, many arrests of the hardest type of drugs now are cross border bound. Just recently, a cascade of arrest was made involving a cartel group of India and Mexico and rooted in the interior parts of the country where they hid their labs and machineries. When you check well, you will see that they have internal backups, but who will tell the truth?

Few years back, a police leadership was arrested for his roles in assisting drug passage through the airports, and it exposed several secrets that same "Mafia" later covered and the case now as good as dead.

We all know what is going on, but if you dare speak about it, you will have to prove it beyond every reasonable doubt. It's not only about drug trafficking, what of the security aspect where several criminals and bandits claim to be sponsored by these top military players and politicians? It is what it is, and you may have little or no influence in determining the right judgement.

You don't need to show any proof that hard drugs are ravaging the lives of young people globally. With the advancement of technology, these drugs can be produced in small labs and easily distributed. These drug dealers are even using drones to distribute these drugs.

As long as there are corrupt law enforcement agencies, drug production and trafficking will not end. There are widely publicised materials that have linked the police and drug law enforcement agencies in the US, South Africa, Mexico, Colombia, and other countries to the illegal drug trade.

In my country, it is common to see police officers visit drug hotspots to collect a percentage from drug sellers. Before, the police officers did it secretly, but with the high rate of corruption, it is no longer hidden.

You have no argument, just accusations, and accusations are nothing without proof.
Drug trade is about 1 to 5% of all trade.

The illegal drug trade is estimated to be worth between $200 billion to $750 billion annually,
While the global economy is projected to reach $126 trillion in 2026, with just four countries—the United States, China, Germany, and Japan—generating roughly half of all economic activity worldwide.

The shortest answer to your question is to watch the movie El Chapo, it's on Netflix. You will find all the answers and those who are responsible for the smuggling, the routes through which drugs pass, and why most of the drugs are not captured before it crosses.

The drug business is part of politics, politicians are in the business, governors, the military, customs and police forces, it happens in chains of officials.
