The problem African countries had was that they did not have a religion. Why did the colonizers not make Christianity compulsory in the Northern part of Nigeria if it was forced? The North were Muslims at the time.

The question we need to ask ourselves,  the people who cane with the gospel to africa are they the same people who came to take africa resources? This is what we need to find out and not just generalise things. I'm sure nothing has change about now and that time. It was rival African tribesmen who created the whole kidnapping and slavery business and sold their own people into slavery. The british empire abolished slavery and white European immigrants to the USA fought and died to stop it there while Arabs and Africans continued it.

Also European cathedrals were built using locally quarried stones as it would not make economic sense to transport it from long distances.

It is complicated than you think. The reverend from their heart were not lying. Know that politics is different from Christianity.

Africans still have so much natural resources that can make Africa to be a great continent. But what if how our fathers were fooled our governments were also fooled the same way in the present day?

I can not blame only the Whites, I will also blame our fathers and governments for now protecting our future.

The bible became a weapon more effective and powerful than the gun. A gun can kill a body,but a distorted gospel can kill a a people's will to resist. When you convince a people that their suffering is God's will, you do not chains. They will surely police themselves. They accept accept exploitation as divine ordinance. The question we need to ask ourselves,  the people who cane with the gospel to africa are they the same people who came to take africa resources? This is what we need to find out and not just generalise things. I'm sure nothing has change about now and that time. The same way we have genuine missionaries who are interested in spreading the gospel today so it was then, and the same way we have corrupt politicians who steals resources today so we had then. The British leaders assigned groups for different reasons. There is a group for political control and colonisation, and another group to spread education, Christianity, etc. The first group that visited Nigeria was the missionary group that spread Christianity and education. You are right that most of the progress that Europeans have made today has been taken away from poor countries. For illiterate people, their religion is the most valuable. Even though they are poor, they try to be very compassionate and responsible towards their religion. When Europeans try to influence the resources of African countries, they try to use religious sentiments along with force. Some have entered poor countries for the purpose of spreading religion and have looted the resources of that country without any bloodshed and today they are living a luxurious life. In reality, wealth exists in a cyclical state. Today, someone who has a mountain of wealth may have that wealth with someone else tomorrow. This is how it has happened in the past and will happen in the future.

That is perfectly right, the introduction of religious beliefs was there most convincing strategic method used to disorganise most poor countries and indirectly stole all from them to enrich themselves while those countries live in hope and expectation that there is a great reward coming in time to come.
This issue of religion needs serious attention then alone can one understand what is truly happening,  I see know reason why someone will believe in an idea brought by another while those that introduced it never practice it.

African land, labour and resources are being exploited by the colonial power and sometimes religion was used to support or justify the colonial system. It is too broad to simply say that a Africans were told to accept poverty, while Africans secretly took everything. Some missionaries did not act as a group and they opposed slavery and abuses that were committed by colonial authorities. There was unequal economic and political power between African and European States. Resources allowed wealth to be removed from Africa and religion can also be used as a tool but that does not explain the whole process. Also, religion itself teaches charity, responsibility and Justice towards the poor, so problem was not necessarily the idea of heavenly reward.

They brought Christianity but not Spirituality and that will never change. Not to forget how your traditional practices are also being demonised while at the same time, these same demonised artifacts are fetching them billions in their museums. In reality, in the past, due to ignorance, the superiors always did injustice to the inferiors. They used to fool the Africans and focus on protecting their interests. This incident did not only happen in the case of Africans, but in every place in the world where there is wealth but the people of that place are not aware or poor. Such an effect is shown in all those countries. On the one hand, fooling people and on the other hand, stealing wealth from them was a common thing for the influential countries. However, although this situation has improved a lot, that effect has not yet been removed. Africa is still a country full of wealth but because favorable conditions have not been created there, the countries are still in darkness.

Certainly, the financial exploitation that was going on at that time is not unknown to anyone. However, if the countries do not take steps to overcome this situation, then the situation cannot be changed. Making people believe in religion and teaching them righteousness is not a crime, but if an attempt is made to hide injustice by using that religion, then it is certainly worthy of criticism.
