US DOJ is investigating whether Binance violated Iran sanctions by failing to block certain trades on its platform, per Bloomberg.

It seems the DOJ needs to get other non-European law enforcement agencies on board with its interests, since Binance operates largely beyond the reach of key legal jurisdictions.

However, similar to the reality of parenting, they have their favorite children and Binance, I reckon, is one of their favorites hehehehe. You should also remember that the Donald has pardoned CZ.

I predict that there will be an announcement from the department of justice declaring that Binance is innocent of all accusations on violating sanctions.

Most of these donors have no idea how blockchain works, which is great because the more they stay away from us, the better it will be.

But even if the used the two blockchains, nothing is going to happen to them anyway. The services that will suffer are probably the centralized exchanges that would received the coins but just like hackers, in most cases such funds are first mixed or passed through bridges before the hit an exchange. Someone is definitely going to have this in their mind in the near future if the sanctions press hard.

Hmmm. Interesting. I haven't thought about this, this might be true on some point. Coz even though okx and bybit doesn't have license or does not direct under US jurisdiction but im sure they can indirectly influence decision from other licensing bodies, say, like MiCA where these two have license to operate.

Also, the department of justice has also declared that the donors to Hamas were using the Tron blockchain. If everyone can remember Justin Sun has filed a case against the Donald's DeFi project World Liberty Financial because Justin has claimed that he was being blocked from selling his WLFI tokens hehehehe.

The seizure is a fact: the FBI and DOJ have confiscated around half a million in USDT on the Tron blockchain, and it has absolutely nothing to do with the lawsuit filed by Justin or the countersuit filed by the WLFI team. Even Chainalysis and the NBCTF confirm that the majority of these transactions amounting to millions take place on the Tron network simply because of its low network fees.

However, this is not a debate of whether they are or not, but common wisdom for someone not to fund them through a traceable means, which is logical.

Those exchanges are well-known centralised exchanges, so it's natural that Hamas's funding and privacy would be known and could be frozen.

If I am not mistaken I think I see of recent also the number of wallet addresses and names that are traceable to illegal transactions by some exchanges, a good example is that of Bybit, and I can see vividly that her mouth was listed as well being part of the illegal transactions that must be avoided with the use of the exchange, I also see a number of other platforms and particular address that should be prevented from making a transaction with, maybe you can read and follow up with this thread

As far as I know, Hamas accepts crypto as a donation, but sending this donation from the centralised platform would be extremely risky. The centralised platform would freeze the account, and even the person who owns the platform account would also get a sanction from the US.

If someone really wants to donate to Hamas, then they must use a non-custodial wallet to avoid sanctions. Exchanges are quite strict about where sending funds and from where coming funds. Not only Binance, but all the exchanges would freeze accounts for such suspicious transactions.
