AI in the Healthcare Sector – Blessing or Cause of Danger?

Technology is moving towards improvement, different types of work can be used in the healthcare with AI. Currently, we can see that different types of activities are going on to use AI in different types of critical work.

AI is doing good helpful work in small small things in the healthcare sector but bringing AI towards critical works seems to be taking a dangerous form.

Normally, are you seeing the use of AI in the healthcare sector in a good way or in a bad way?

For weeks now it has been Ai discussion here ,and many people has different view concerning the use of Ai ,but talking about healthcare service I would say it's good to use the help of Ai but not entirely Ai in everything because it will be risky, aswear ,so it's better to apply the help of Ai and humans intelligence especially in the healthcare service , I keep using the word help , because I feel it should only be for assistance and not the one doing the entire whole work whereby replacing human.

You may know well why discussion about AI is happening because everyone is understanding in which directions AI is moving at the present time.

Different people who are involved in research on AI are giving their final statements and stepping away from the path of AI, that's why currently the topic of AI is being discussed much more.

AI is helping quite well in the medical field too but not seeing the use of AI in different types of critical work in a good way, that's why the post has been created for discussion. As you said, I am also saying the same because AI is helping us in different ways but I think the use of AI in the healthcare sector for critical work will never be right.

That’s right, Ai has been exceptionally helpful in different sectors, but the most important thing here is knowing exactly where AI should end and where human judgement should take over. The truth is that, when it comes to the healthcare sector, AI can perfectly take care of information processing and very quickly too, but we all know that AI works with the data it is fed, and it’ll take more than just data to understand a patient’s situation. Human oversight and judgment is still very much necessary when decisions can directly impact someone’s life.

How it became dangerous if it's helping the health professionals to have better accuracy of what they do? like in surgeries, etc. Those apparatus that uses AI technology for it has basis and have a better aim than humans although IMO it's still better if it's balanced.

I see it as something good if it's helping saving lives. We have to embrace that truth that without these machines and technologies, curing diseases will be harder.

I see the use of AI in the healthcare sector as a good thing. The reason for this is that whether today or tomorrow, AI will enter almost all sectors and is already being studied. However, I don't think that any such AI or robot will be able to come out right now that can work hundred percent accurately or without any assist. To work, a doctor's assist will definitely be needed. So here I don't see it as a threat to doctors. Doctors win. Those who can adopt this thing may be able to stay ahead of others.

Implementing AI in medicine is beneficial. Well, at least because there aren’t enough doctors. Even bad doctors are in short supply! And in medicine, most doctors are, let’s say, "below average". Therefore, AI can be even more professional than most doctors.

Many people talk about errors as a dangerous factor in implementing AI. Doctors make mistakes too. So, when the number of AI‑related medical errors does not exceed the average statistical number of human doctors’ errors, that will be the moment to completely replace most doctors with AI.

There’s also the issue of robotics to replace mid‑level and junior medical personnel. There, errors and a careless attitude towards their work are even more common than among doctors.
