Instead of worrying, just learn to adapt. Whether we like it or not, AI will become common, not just in the healthcare sector, but also in different sectors. Also, there are different jobs in healthcare, it's not like it's all about operations. Some work will become faster, more efficient and accurate because of AI. AI is like your additional helper.

It will only cause danger if you are entirely dependent on AI and you are a doctor. AI is good, but that doesn't mean it won't have an error or bug, that's why you can't depend entirely on AI especially if you are a doctor.
As healthcare professionals or doctors, one certainly should not rely solely on AI—which generally serves as a tool for disseminating health information or answering questions about diseases and their management. However, AI provides significant assistance in urgent situations where local healthcare facilities are unavailable.

If its making the jobs of the healthcare workers easy, with better accuracy and time saving, then definitely AI is a blessing  to them. AI acts as an augmented intelligence tool, and the smart choices and decisions are still left to the physicians and nurses and other healthcare workers. So most likely this is a partnership between human and AI, not replacing human and let AI do all the jobs alone. This will only cause danger if these doctors and nurses and other healthcare workers are not responsible on their assigned tasks, thus leaving their patients health put in danger.

Indeed a a serious partnership that will make the job easier for doctors and nurses and by doing delivering effective or even more effective service. Doctors and nurses who understands what the ai will be talking about can not be replaced at all because replacement could become the harm so anticipated. These going on about AI in the medical sector has been the same with every technology advancement.

In my opinion I think that this is actually a blessing and a cause of danger because the healthcare sector is a very delicate aspect that should not just be left under the care of Ai, what if something goes wrong? This is something that a lot of people haven't really thought about. Just because Ai works more efficiently doesn't mean that it is not capable of making mistakes, a slight miscalculation could get a patient killed. Humans need to accept the fact that we don't need Ai for everything, there are some things that still need to expertise of humans to solve.

The advancement of technology has really been of great help and AI has played a key role in helping people with making things easier but then in the health sector I think that the use of AI can come in both ways either a blessing or a cause, it all depends on how humans use it, some people are now replacing AI with humans instead of having it as an assistant or like a tool that helps you make your work faster.

The health sector isn't something that one should play with, AI should assist and not replace what doctors or nurses should do on their own because if there's mistake that causes human live, who will be held responsible some people are even using it to have their daily check ups, self medication and that's very dangerous because those are the things the doctor and nurses should do, if is about patients data and helping doctors with their work it's a blessing as it makes the work easier. Ai is a blessing but it can also become a danger in the wrong hands or how it's been used.

My mother is a doctor with thirty years of work experience, who is parallelly building an academic career. I introduced her to AI a year and a half ago; before that, she was unaware of the existence of this tool. So, young specialists work in her department who finished their residency just a couple of years ago. And my mom says that ChatGPT and the like are simply a new plague, because these young doctors consult with them on everything, ignoring the possibility of making their own observations and conclusions. And because of this, they miss a great deal, and most importantly, they do not learn from older and more experienced colleagues, thinking that they can rely on AI in everything.

This can serve as an example of how AI undermines the professional growth of doctors. Young doctors, of course, want to follow the easy path, and as a result, AI replaces professional growth for them. This is bad from the traditional perspective on the profession. But from the perspective of the beneficiaries of the introduction of AI into all aspects of society, this is precisely the goal. Such doctors will later be easily replaced by AI, and they will find themselves out of work.

But there is a trap here. In general, to manage a certain system (AI), the managing system (human scientists) must be more complex than the managed system. In the human population, only a fraction of a percent are geniuses, and a few percent are very intelligent people. Among them, an even smaller number receive an education and have the opportunity for professional self‑realization. In absolute terms, this number will decrease due to the corrupting influence of AI.

If the population shrinks, the number of intelligent people will drop even further. There will come a time when there will be no scientists capable of maintaining, developing, and controlling AI. And there will simply be no one to teach the new ones.

I see nothing wrong with using AI as a tool. However, in the context of medicine, for example, the following problem arises. Truly brilliant, experienced doctors don't have the time to train AI. They pass their knowledge on to the younger generation—or rather, they are ready to do so. But if young specialists turn to AI instead of absorbing this knowledge, they lose the opportunity to develop their own critical thinking needed to evaluate AI's advice. At the same time, they aren't training the AI themselves either, so it remains at the exact same level of development.

Coming from a country with less specialized medical practitioners with even few adaptation to cutting edge information, the implementation of AI will greatly reduce the mortality rate, diagnosis will be more accurate as data from leading research groups from all of the world will be accumulated to help the general and even surgical processes will be more efficient with the combination of robotics, overall the good side of Ai will be helpful with the supervision of Humans of course

Technology is moving towards improvement, different types of work can be used in the healthcare with AI. Currently, we can see that different types of activities are going on to use AI in different types of critical work.

AI is doing good helpful work in small small things in the healthcare sector but bringing AI towards critical works seems to be taking a dangerous form.

Normally, are you seeing the use of AI in the healthcare sector in a good way or in a bad way?

This particular development, I don't want Grin

If I'm feeling unwell and I asked Google, the kind of response I get from Google is very terrible. Let me tell you, if you have a headache and you decide to ask Google, they can tell you that you have cancer. I'm not sure if health algorithm has improved but I stop searching anything health related online. In fact, it's better you consult doctors than going online.

I don't know what to think about right the current development of AI with health. It might be beneficial but the AI I'm seeing are full of crap. The lecturers are even worried how the students are depending on AI to study instead and write projects, nobody want to research anymore, they don't want to even understand what they are doing.

My last worry is who is going to regulate the informations by AI, this is going to be a difficult one if we want accurate and safe information related to health.

The development and prioritisation of artificial intelligence due to technological advancements will continue unabated. However, at present we are seeing the most use of AI. It is even being used in all sectors. For example: in healthcare, AI driven robots in the battlefield. It is playing a very good role in these areas. As a result, it is completing many complex surgeries with precision. But unfortunately, we may see its negative side in the future.

I have been hearing for about a week that AI or ChatGPT poses a threat to humanity. This is because perhaps two AI officials have resigned from their jobs. Because big companies like OpenAI are now caught up in competition. As a result, they are paying less attention to security. In this context, AI is going out of control. Nevertheless, there are both good and bad aspects to consider.

Are you serious about the last sentence? You mean people have not really thought about the possible errors that could occur, even those that introduced the AI? The are still developers ideas about AI that are not yet very safe to be use in healthcare and it has not yet been launched but for other AI machines that is permitted to be widely used in medical sector, it is safe and if it wasn't, the health Organization would not have endorsed it. Delicate health issues and emergencies are not just left under the care of AI, it's not the way you think it is. Those AI still do its assigned jobs unde the supervision of a human that is also a professional in that field, so they are not left alone to handle delicate issues.

In the nearest future the use of Ai would be completely normalised and the activities that have been common for humans to engage in or carryout would be done easily by Ai. In the health sector this can probably be a good improvement but in the long run we should not always expect Ai to be perfect, it is possible for Ai to make certain mistakes that might put the lives of patients in danger. if they consider making use of Ai permanently in the healthcare sector then it should be properly checked in to avoid complications.

If I were a patient, i will say no to clinical practice, and i think my decision is valid, logic and my right as patient.  My main consideration simply we should avoid any possible harm that any intervention might do, and there is no 100% guarantee that AI is correct and will not make any mistakes. For diagnosis i think its still relevan using AI help as second opinion but for medical treatment, it is too dangerous. Only human with its awareness who bear legal, professional, and moral responsibility for every clinical decision made.

And AI lacks humanity: a quality so necessary in the work of a doctor. A doctor makes a decision not on dry facts, not solely on theory, and not even relying on experience alone. They also evaluate each situation individually (if it is a good doctor). And different people, different patients require different approaches. AI could hardly provide such individualism. It would evaluate situations on an assembly-line basis, and the treatment would not take into account individual characteristics, let alone the patient's preferences.

As always, it depends on how it is used. If it is used to compare thousands of patterns to find a problem that a human being would struggle to detect, then we can say that AI is certainly a very good thing; if, on the other hand, as they are discovering in my country, AI is used to falsify clinical databases to show that certain medicines work better than others, then that is absolutely not acceptable.
In practice, they submitted a study on blind patients to scientific validators to demonstrate that a particular medicine was miraculous, and it was validated; in reality, the database had been entirely fabricated by an AI, complete with clinical trials, and the medicine didn’t even exist.

Although I support the growth of AI but when talking about the medical sector it feels for now it is still not fully feasible to implement (substitute for the role of doctors). I know the goal is to minimize errors during operation and so on. But such a process requires human interaction that knows and understands important details at the time of surgery. The point is about the level of accuracy, because this is related to human lives that are fatal can directly eliminate lives.

If Ai is just a tool for medical personnel, I agree, but to replace the role as a whole, I do not agree.

Even if there are some controversies, we can't deny the fact that AI would slowly take over the healthcare sector as well. AI is meant to make things way easier and save time eventually. If AI can do better in healthcare sector than why not give it a try. There would be numerous trials before AI can even work on a real patient so I think the room for error would be much less here. Even doctors sometimes make mistakes which have cost lives in a few examples. AI can eliminate these silly mistakes and can be shaped in whatever form we want. We are the ones to feed date to AI so the results should be on us and not on AI.

Even if AI advances, I don't think the entire treatment can be left with them. A live person would always be required to keep monitoring the treatment. We can't trust AI with human lives as of yet but things might change in future as AI advances.

Artificial intelligence may not directly replace all medical personnel's immediately or the need for medical personnel in the medical field, but it will largely reduce the relevance of many of them making many of them unemployed in the process. I'm beginning to wonder that if many doctors become unemployed due to artificial intelligence taking up the role that they usually handle in hospitals and in the health sector, What other jobs could they create for themselves that is still in line with their medical profession because immediately artificial intelligence starts recording success in the field of medicine and even surgery many humans would prefer them as an option than the human alternative that will then be marketed to seem like it is more error prone to sell machines.

If AI can do better in healthcare sector than why not give it a try.

Because for now, there is no confidence at all that AI does anything better. Yes, it does things faster, yes, it can process more information, and it is simply cheaper than a real, experienced doctor. But the question of quality remains, just as it was. The same goes for the question of responsibility, because AI won't bear any liability for its mistakes. Moreover, I'm not sure it will be able to draw conclusions from erroneous situations, because such mistakes often need to be analyzed with deep consideration of the individual case, and AI isn't really demonstrating its capabilities in that regard yet.

I personally think that use of AI in health care sector is a very useful approach as it can be helpful to find various medicine that could somehow be helpful for humans in long term.

When AI and robotics both are implemented in health sector then various type of surgical procedures can be done with maximum accuracy. Although, it will take time to develop such type of tech but to be honest it's going to be very helpful in long term.

Of course there will be trail and error for long time and there are some big risks as well but the potential rewards are way higher than the risks.

I am sort of frustrated to talk about AI is that most people participating into that talk, don't really grasp the terminology. What AI means to people outside of tech is very different then what it means to a coder. Normal people use it as some alternative to google, even though results can be easily poisoned. Or as vibe programming, leaving programs and sites open to exploits and themselves open to lawsuits when they don't know how to protect the data.

In healthcare, or freaking any industry now, it's a similar buzzword like blockchain was. It's supposed to be a miracle fix to the productivity. In reality, it's a productivity tool for the underlying code. So if its dangerous or not, is based on how it's implemented.

Coders with an AI can make a safer and more efficient software then a wannabe cheap coder, who is unable to understand the code. Problem is that real coders are not as cheap as wannabe coders and when companies want to save money, they are probably cutting corners from safety.

I personally am seeing the use of AI in healthcare sector as a blessing. We can't imagine the things AI can do in order to save a human life. Yes, we can't simply rely on AI and there would be some human intervention required but still, AI is going to make things way easier for healthcare professionals. For common man, they won't see much of a difference because they hardly understand the sector but you should really take suggestions from healthcare professionals. They would be the ones to consider AI as a blessing.

We have seen a really good progress when it comes to healthcare robots. These robots can now perform extremely difficult surgeries with most accuracy. In some times, these robots have performed way better than actual doctors. AI would just make robotics more friendly for these healthcare professionals.
